Here's the story with the truck, I brought it into the shop with a top end tick. It was diagnosed that the rockers needed to be replaced so we moved forward with the repair. After getting the new rockers installed the tech realized there was a height issue with #8 lifter. After further inspection, he came to the conclusion that the lifter was bad and the cab would have to be removed in order to pull the heads and replace the lifter and cam at the least. I decided I didn't want to go that route since it would probably lead to a rebuild. Instead of putting more money into the truck I've decided to cut my loses and put it up for sale. The truck ran fine, no smoke or lack of power before I brought it into the shop. The transmission shifted smooth and the four wheel drive worked fine. The truck is deleted. Truck has 35" tires on 20" wheels. The tires are in decent shape. Currently the truck does not run, the rockers were removed and were not put back in. The shop I took the truck to is very reputable and can validate what I've said in the listing. The valve covers have been reinstalled. Hood has some minor hail damage. For sale is a very nicely kept original '49 Ford 4 door sedan. This car has been repainted once approximately 15 years ago, but is in remarkable original condition. It still has the original flathead V8 with just over 43,000 miles on it. Manual overdrive transmission works great. There are literally NO RUST ISSUES with this car, as the inner and outer rockers, front fender mount areas, floors, etc are all in excellent condition. I have added new photos showing the rockers and floors. The driver's side rocker and lower fender does have a crease in it, but it would be a relatively easy fix. That is the only issue with the body that I see. The car will need some things, such as tires, new window anti-rattlers for the side windows, and minor brake adjustment as it pulls to the right when stopping. Also, the radio does not work and there is a rip in the original upholstery on the driver's seat. Overall this is THE MOST SOLID shoebox ford that I've ever seen! The car runs and drives GREAT and is very quiet. It is such a smooth running and driving car. The doors open and shut with ease and everything is as it should be. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
