THE NEW VDO SPEEDOMETER, ODOMENTOR WAS SET TO ZERO MILES WHEN IT WAS FINISHED. MILEAGE THAT IS POSTED IS WHAT IS CURRENTLY ON THE CAR TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE. I WILL BE POSTING A PICTURE OF WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE WHEN I GOT IT. THE FORD IS SUB-FRAMED WITH A 1979 CAMARO FRONT CLIP WITH POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES. THE SUB-FRAME WAS PERFORMED BY ONE OF THE GENTELMEN THAT HAD DONE OVER 30 SUB-FRAMES IN THE PAST SO, HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND THE ALIGNMENT IS RIGHT ON THE MONEY. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE CAR IN THE LAST 2 YEARS: JANUARY 2013 - NEW PAINT/ DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL BODY SHOP. ALL GLASS, HOOD, TRUNK LIDS, DOOR HANDLES, EMBLEMS, AND STAINLESS WERE REMOVED AND THE WHOLE BODY SMOOTHED OUT AND PREPPED FOR PAINT JOB. IN OTHER WORDS IT WAS DONE RIGHT. SEE PICTURE PRYOR TO NEW PAINT. CAR WAS IN PRIMER WHEN I BOUGHT IT. THE COLOR IS THE CORRECT 1948 MAROON FOR THAT YEAR WITH PEARL ADDED IN THE MIX GIVING IT BRILLANT SHINE. ENGINE - PONTIAC 1988 FIREBIRD 305CI, EDLEBROCK CARB - 4 BARREL, WAS TOLD ENGINE HAD 88, 000 MILES ON IT, WHEN IT WAS PUT IN. I HAVE GOTTEN 18 - 19 MPG HIGHWAY - 70 MPH AROUND 15 -16 IN TOWN. TRANSMISSION - GM 700R OVERDIRVE, OPERATED BY A NEW LOKAR NOSTALGIA 23" SHIFTER. GM TILT STEERING COLUMN. SHIFTS PERFECT. REAR END - NOVA COOLING - NEW 4 CORE RADIATOR WITH ELECTRIC FAN (HAS NEVER OVER HEATED ALWAYS RUNS 180-185 NO MATTER HOW HOT THE WEATHER IS). INTERIOR WAS ALREADY IN THE CAR WHEN I GOT THE CAR. ALL STOCK EXCECPT FOR FRONT SEAT. I WAS TOLD THE FRONT SEAT CAME OUT OF A MID 60'S BUICK WITH A CENTER ARM REST. IT IS VERY NICE WITH NO RIPS OR TEARS, HEAD LINER IS STOCK CLOTH WITH NO RIPS OR TEARS. GLASS IS ALL NEW EXCEPT FOR THE REAR WINDOW. ALLWINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN, FLIP OUT LIKE THEY SHOULD. THE ORIGINAL DOME LIGHTS WITH SWITCH EVEN WORK. ALL GAUGES ARE VDO AND ALL READ CORRECTLY, THE SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMENTOR HAVE BEEN TESTED AND READ CORRECTLY.
