Watch video above and below for a close look at the car. 1949 Ford Tudor Custom barn fresh project car. This is a great car with so much potential. It has both "goods" and "bads" but overall a wonderful time capsule. I rolled this car out of a barn in Illinois where it has been stored for 30 years. Sat on a concrete slab so it has a very SOLID underbody for the most part. There has been some steel patch panels installed in a couple of places up front on the floor pan. Done well back in the day. This is a great car! They do NOT pop up like this very often!! I just don't have the time right now for it. Flathead V8 fires right up! Holds STRONG oil pressure. Settles into a nice idle and seems VERY strong! However it needs a good carb cleaning and proper tune up. 3 speed trans shifts with GREAT clutch! New battery, cleaned gas tank and installed fresh fuel. All Lights work. Gauges ALL work. Brakes pump up and car has good pedal but will need complete brake system looked at prior to driving. Exhaust needs some work (lots of pin holes, muffler blown out and so on). Tires are "Maypops" and VERY VERY DRY and pretty well bad but hold air long enough to load it and move it around. Everything is here. Nothing missing! Clear Illinois title. Owner was the 2nd owner. He had owned it since 1996 and his brother bought it brand new. Never left that county it's entire life. Still have the original license plate for it. Car was repainted its original color in the early 1970's and there was some bondo/rust repair in various places on the car but not a bondo bucket. Mainly thin, skin coats and a few spots on the lower quarters. They did a great job back then and this car wouldn't take much to be paint ready. SERIOUS buyers only PLEASE! Listed locally too so I reserve to end the listing anytime to sell local. Feel free to make an offer. Please be realistic and sincere. Offensive, ignorant offers will be automatically declined (lilduccpe32's offer for example) Thanks and ask anything anytime. SHIPPING: Shipping costs are the buyers responsibility but I will work out the details with your shipper to load the car anytime. Car is sold "As Is" and "Where Is". No warranty expressed or implied obviously BUT if you are in the area you are welcome and encouraged to come and physically inspect it anytime you like. PLEASE ask anything anytime. I'm happy to answer. Nothing to hide here. PAYING: CASH IN HAND IS KING BANK TO BANK WIRE CASHIERS' CHECKS PAYPAL IS NOTPREFERRED! I DO NOTLIKE PAYPAL AND I THINK THEIR FEES ARE OUTRAGEOUS! Selling this truck for a good friend of mine. He has owned it since 1982. Good, clean Indiana title in hand. Title matches frame #'s. The Good Stuff: 1940 Ford 1/2 ton truck. Runs and drives GREAT! '53 Flathead Ford V8 engine RUNS PERFECTLY! Strong!!! Smooth!!! No issues! Converted to 12V system. '39 Transmission shifts great! '39 "Banjo" rear end. The cab is amazingly solid with just minimal spot fills. The doors are incredibly SOLID, straight and nice! All Bob Drake parts used! New inner fenders, bed stake pockets and more. LOTS of work done to the frame (rear boxed) and stock suspension to give the truck a nice ride! New shocks, brake hoses, wheel cylinders and so on. Wide white walls on powder coated rims and original V8 caps. He has driven the truck to the Frog Follies in Evansville, IN. every year since 1995 and it NEVER runs hot in traffic! The "Not So" Good Stuff: NOW THEN, he was working on this truck for years. Doing the cab work and door work after the suspension and got that part done for the majority where the cab is sound and the doors "click" shut. BUT, the truck does need body work finished out properly. Still needs a lot of body work on all 4 fenders, bed box and running boards. There is NO GRILLE for the truck. There are new headlight buckets in the box for it as well as some other parts. There is no glass in the truck. The windshield is just a temporary to drive the truck until he could get new glass for it. The window regulators are all there and work. All things considered.... it is a '40 Ford that runs and drives GREAT! These are all STEEL parts. These are NOT cheap trucks. These are NOT cheap parts. But, when they are done they are WELL worth the investment He recently lost his storage space that he has had for 20 years and now the truck must be sold. He was in a rush to move it out and the fenders had to be bolted back on and the bed had to be bolted down to keep it all together. There is A LOT of body work to do yet, but you can drive it and work on it as you go. Or build it into a "Rat Rod", but I wouldn't personally. These trucks are TOO rare to do that to. Truck is sold "As Is" and "Where Is". No warranty expressed or implied obviously BUT if you are in the area you are welcome and encouraged to come and physically inspect the car anytime you like. I'm not an expert on these things so PLEASE ask or request addition pics if you need them. I'm happy to do that anytime. Trying to cover every square inch of a large, antique vehicle can be difficult so bare with me. Nothing to hide here and we can take it out on the curvy, country roads or the interstate. Listed locally also, I reserve the right to end listing at any time. Paying: I prefer cash in hand and a handshake but will take a cashiers' check or bank-to-bank wires and I will work with you from start to finish 100% on shipping the car. However shipping costs are buyers responsibility. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS ARE WELCOME! NO PAYPAL UNLESS YOU PAY THE FEES! I DO NOT LIKE PAYPAL AND I THINK THEIR FEES ARE OUTRAGEOUS! IF YOU WANT TO USE PAYPAL, YOU WILL HAVE TO BE LIABLE FOR THE EXTRA FEES. SORRY...BUT IT'S UNREAL WHAT THEY CHARGE FOR BASICALLY DOING NOTHING.
