It's a skill set that never goes out of style, especially when all these qualities have been enhanced so well on an example like this one. There were some shades of orange available from the factory in 1966, but none of them looked as good as this. You know some serious care went into the bodywork before this color was applied, simply because these Broncos saw plenty of off-road and utility use throughout their lifetime. Without some serious money invested in erasing that history, the glossy orange would reflect every bump in the road. And this Bronco was absolutely worth saving because '66 was the first model year of this now legendary nameplate, and it appears to have been very solid. This one gets its vintage appearance right with the thin chrome bumpers. Plus, the white grille and matching fiberglass top give a two-tone paint appearance. But you know there's much more to this Bronco. It has that unmistakably meaner, lifted stance, that shows this SUV takes fun very seriously. There's even more added brightwork with items like the cat eye headlights, side steps, and of course, those Eagle Alloy off-road wheels. The interior gives you the best of both worlds. You can have a convertible when you want, but the fully enclosed body with metal doors and roll up windows means you can keep the weather out too. That's why the full black carpeting looks so nice. The driver and passenger even get late model cloth bucket seats for extra comfort. But no one ever expects a bucking Bronco to coddle, and you know it the moment you sit behind the wheel and grab the cool grenade-style shifter to engage the four-wheel drive. Even as wild as this appearance is, you get good fundamentals with a grippy three-spoke steering wheel that features a smaller diameter to take advantage of the power steering. Also, the Hurst shifter on the floor does nicely for everyday driving. In front of that, there's a new custom panel that houses a full set of auxiliary gauges, so you can constantly be in better contact with what's going on in the engine bay. You can tell from the moment you pop the hood that there is no ordinary V8 powering this one. Beyond the clean-and-mean appearance, this one respects the first-year Bronco's history by starting out with the largest motor they had available at the time, the 289 cubic-inch V8. This one has been upgraded to inhale deeply with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Performer intake, and it exhales with authority out of performance headers on its way through the Flowmaster dual exhaust. There are also components that enhance the reliability, such as the MSD ignition, and aluminum radiator. So, in total, this is trustworthy package with one heck of a growl. It's backed by a three-speed manual transmission, and two-speed transfer case feeding both axles. Broncos have a tough off-road attitude, including being the first consumer 4x4 to utilize front coil springs, and that legacy is only enhanced with this lifted suspension and Rancho RS5000 shocks at all corners. The final part of this package is the full set of chunky and expensive Federal Couragia M/T tires. A fun 4x4 with great history and built to go play every day. This is the Bronco represents maximum fun on and off the road. This 1966 Ford Bronco is from the first production year of this now-legendary name, but as you can see, it has been given plenty of valuable modern upgrades. Designed from the ground up to be practical as well as stylish, the Bronco took the Jeep concept and civilized it. However, looking at this awesome off-roader, you can see the focus was definitely on function. The original body is in great shape, which is often tough to say on these Broncos that were used to go beyond the trail. Of course it also helps that this one has been packed with plenty of upgrades with its recent restoration. The new electric blue paint gives this 4x4 a very flashy and up-to-date look. Serious equipment includes aftermarket front and rear tubular bumpers, fender flares, roll bar, and removable soft top. This is a U13 code Bronco Roadster. Not only does it make it a rare with only about 5,000 built in the first few years, but also you get cool features like the narrower door frames that look great when its time for open motoring, and the classic eyebrow grill. The interior is simple, but that's the idea in a vehicle that's designed to be open to the elements. Custom sport bucket seats with "Bronco" stitched in the headliner look great, and offer superior comfort. Combine this with the five-point Simpson racing harnesses, and you're held in place no matter the maneuver. The floors are protected by spray-in bedliner material that's durable and looks great. The original steering wheel is always a nice visual piece, especially with the factory gauges still in place. This setup includes a tach, which is both a rare and necessary option for the three-speed manual shift in this 4x4. To complete the original look the AM radio is still in place, as well as the factory heat/defrost controls. Underneath the hood is a 300 hp 351 cubic-inch Cleveland V8 that's wilder than anything the Ford factory ever gave this generation. It comes with a new exhaust system that has an impressive sound on or off the road. Best of all, this crate motor has barely any miles on it, so you can break it in however you like. But you know that great power is only part of what you need to get across any terrain. That's why this Bronco has been lifted on a quad shock setup for better stability. If you go into the wild, the two-speed 4x4 transfer case is connected to Warn locking front hub,s and a Detroit Locker rear end for bulletproof performance. Making sure you always have traction is a set of meaty 33.5-inch Wildcat EXT off-road tires. There have been plenty of goodies packed into this 4x4 Bronco, and we'll show you all the restoration receipts to prove it. It's the one you'd build if you had the time, but this one is already ready to go today. In the case of this one, added attractiveness does not mean added price. We like good Broncos at Streetside because no matter what modifications have been done, each one of them is a survivor. These were built to spend years tackling the tough trails, and often many of them today don't meet our high standards. So when we a see a 4x4 Bronco like this that has a healthy list of restoration receipts, we know it has been cared for correctly. The boxy bodywork gives this truck a real machismo, but there is a lot of style to this one, too. The original shade of Candyapple Red could have just as easily been used for a hot rod, and this shade looks more modern on the grille where most Broncos are silver. There still is plenty of bling on this one thanks to the chrome door mirrors, shiny side trim, and optional chrome bumpers. Another part of this classic style is the optional swing-away rear-mounted spare tire. One nice modern upgrade is the Class III trailer hitch that allows this Bronco to tow more toys if you choose. Inside is exactly how a classic truck with real functionality should look. The floor has been sealed with a tough rhino lining and then disguised with the original factory red paint. The bucket seats have the correct white vinyl, which looks especially striking when hardtop is removed and this Bronco rides around like a classic convertible. The heater/defrost also means the temperature can drop a little more before you have to think about putting the top back on. In between the seats sits a custom center console to add comfort for everyday driving, and a modern CD stereo furthers this Bronco's usability even more. The steering wheel shows a cool aftermarket touch, and the smaller diameter makes better use with the power steering. What can clearly be seen through the wheel is the new SunPro tachometer, which provides welcomed additional info about what's going on with the truck. Another handy piece on the steering column is what Ford Motor Company did by making it the first year that the selector for three-speed automatic transmission was backlit. This might seem like a small detail until you drive your Bronco at night. There are plenty of upgrades on this Bronco, but the best one is the 302 cubic-inch V8 motor that was a factory option. This is one of the stoutest V8s that Ford offered at the time, and it makes for the perfect powerplant for a trail ready Bronco like this one. The 4x4 is engaged via the Dana 20 transfer case, and its grip is aided by a later set of Ford truck wheels that allow for larger tires. Among many other, one great thing about Broncos is the short wheelbase is ideal for scaling obstacles and tight turns. Also, if anything needs to be mended after an adventurous day off-road, all the major mechanical pieces are shared across the Ford's robust truck line. This means even though 1st generation Broncos are becoming rarer everyday (less than 19,000 were sold in 1974,) finding replacement parts is often quite simple. This Bronco has a classic look with the right modern touches. With what we have seen others going out of our showroom for, there's no doubt it won't last long under our lights. Do you want a convertible? Do you want a 4x4? Or do you want it all in one original vintage package like this Ford Bronco? Broncos are a bit of a specialty at Streetside Classics, and so we get excited when we see one loaded with original options. In the case of a vehicle like this that's built for utility, the extras are often about adding personality with brightwork chrome bumpers, hubcaps, rocker panels, side molding, door frames, and passenger side mirror. All of this silver bling is a nice contrast to the original color copper paint. Despite all of this shine, there is a feeling of straightforward honesty in the design of every 1st generation Bronco. The uncluttered straight lines give this classic utility vehicle strength in both appearance and function. Our Bronco feels like it has all the country grit of the Marlboro Man except this one doesn't smoke anything like the Marlboro Man. Inside there were even more option boxes checked at the Ford dealer. This one has interesting features like the original AM/FM radio (still playing tunes today), premium steering wheel with chrome ring, and sports-style bucket seats. There are also features for everyday convenience like the three-speed automatic transmission and power brakes. This classic Bronco even has an air conditioning unit installed and ready to be hooked up. If this Bronco seems more like a complete vehicle than just something purely utilitarian, the pictures should solidify this feeling. The full carpeting, rear bench seat, and coordinating interior panels are the kind of features more likely found in a sports car than a truck. In fact, Broncos have full dual personality. The steel roof is easily removed to turn this classic off-roader into a full-open "convertible". This one was outfitted with a roll bar for added safety. There's one last option of note, and it's a big one. The 302 cubic inch V8 really gives this classic utility vehicle the power to keep up with today's traffic. In 2007 the motor in this Bronco was removed, given a full refresh, and then carefully reinstalled (check the included receipts for details.) This helps ensure that the powerplant is churning out as many ponies as possible without ruining the overall original appearance. The hardy motor is especially nice to have when taking this 4x4 off road. It might seem scary to take such a pristine vehicle into the rough unknown, but that's exactly what these were built to handle. The short wheelbase is ideal for scaling obstacles, and the mechanical pieces are shared across the Ford's robust truck line. This means even though 1st generation Broncos are becoming more rare everyday (less than 22,000 were sold in 1973,) finding replacement parts are often quite simple. This is a high-optioned 4x4 that feels original down to the included owner's manual and warranty card. It is the kind of Bronco that any purist that sees it can't pass up. Having sold more of these than just about any other dealer, we have a pretty good handle on what makes them so special. This 1971 Ford Bronco carries an incredible look, and you'll have no reservations going just about anywhere with its over-sized tires, lift kit and rock rails, and 5.0L HO Fuel Injected engine!! Let's take a closer look! It's hard to go wrong with the look of an early Bronco. The body design just about lends it to whatever color you choose to go with. This is covered in an extremely slick coat of 2010 Camaro Synergy Green paint that is absolutely stunning when rolled out into the sun. The frame and bumpers have been powder coated, and to help on the trails its been equipped with an Mile Marker 8,000lb winch. Down the sides you'll find solid rock rails, sliders and side steps. Before you ask, it has been lifted with a Skyjacker lift kit to give it that incredible stance. Fender flares permit the use of oversized rubber to match the bumpers and grille, giving the Bronco a cheerful disposition. Run the soft-top or not, the truck has incredible look and has our own staff wanting to take this home as their own. Most Broncos interiors are basic, but that's not the case for this '71. Inside you will find more custom touches that set this apart from anything you have ever seen. It starts with the baja seats that continues the black and green theme. To make you feel safe in any environment the Bronco has been equipped with a custom 8-point roll cage with a silhouette of a bronco in the center. In front of the passengers is a carbon fiber-esque dash that really spices things up nicely. Not only does it feature a custom look, but it is capable of housing your iPad or tablet of choice straight on the dash. All the gauges can be found in two round pods to the left and right of the steering column. The custom dash also includes an AM/FM/CD alpine stereo head unit that is BlueTooth ready. The stereo system is something that will grab the attention of anyone within a 5 block radius with a Kicker 350 amp and a 12" sub-woofer. On the painted floors you'll find the controls for the automatic transmission, and the second lever is of course for the 2-speed 4-wheel drive transfer case. We could go on and on about it, but its an interior that you need to see in person to truly appreciate as you find more cool intricacies as you continue to look. Lift the vibrant green hood and you'll reveal a 1989 5.0L HO V8. Equipped with fuel injection, this modern powerplant looks right at home in the bright green engine bay. The engine features all new wiring and power steering. Bolted to the Ford block is a C4 automatic transmission that sends power to the rear, or the front thanks to a new front driveshaft, equipped with a 4.56 posi. Stopping power comes courtesy of power brakes with discs in the front and drums in the rear. In front of those brake you'll find massive TR Motorsport faux bead-lock wheels wrapped in 37x12.5R15 rubber. This Bronco features a ton of custom touches and comes with great power and an awesome look. Fun, funky, fast, and surprisingly practical, it's a cool way to have some fun in the dirt. Don't wait as the last bronco we had buyers lining up even after it was sold.
