Engine and transmission are extremely solid (Ferrari designer designed the engine). we have had Triumph and Alfa and MG but none of them none drove tight solid like the legendary FIAT (mother company for FERRARI) is one of the most solid constructions I've ever seen (every inch is welded.. including fenders). With FIAT big come back now to the U.S. everyone loves this car. Ferrari styling on a affordable budget. Pinninfarina styling, same as Ferrari. Engine also designed by a Ferrari engineer. we take it on long trips (800 miles) without a thought. You will love this car. First on the list is its appearance. The FIAT 124 Spider was designed and built by Pininfarina, using FIAT components and mechanical design. The handing is superb for a car of its era. It is wonderful on a curving mountain road, giving great feedback to the driver, and inspiring confidence. It is very comfortable for a sports car. Roomy too. 2+2 is great when you want to just take the kids along your trip, The top goes up and down in seconds, and is weather tight. Much more comfortable for a tall person (6'3") than similarly sized cars.
