Only 6,068 GTS cars were produced with 1989 being the most sought after because of refinements with engine, suspension, braking, and interior changes for the series. The values of these cars have been going up and show no sign of wavering. Obviously many enthusiasts are hoping to find a great one before the ship sails and they become similar to the 246 Dino in desirability for an era of boomers and gen-x’ers and pricing goes out of reach. With that out of the way, let’s talk about this car. The car is really immaculate and ready for your collection and being entered in concours events across the US. You would be hard-pressed to find a nicer car at this price level in this condition. Ordered in Rosso Corsa with Beige leather interior and Beige carpets, this classic color combination is undeniably gorgeous and what most people first think of when someone mentions a Ferrari. It takes the fan favorite Magnum PI 308 and brings it to that next, more modern level with many, many upgrades and refinements mechanically and aesthetically. The car was delivered brand new, April 7, 1989 at Steve Kessler Motorcars in New York. The 328 is considered a very reliable car and one of the lowest cost Ferrari’s to maintain and this one is no exception. The car has only needed annual services for fluids, brakes, battery, hoses, and inspections along with recall campaigns the last 26 years. The car has been serviced several times for major services in its life – most recently at Ferrari of Central New Jersey and a sought after old-school independent trained at the factory. Last week, we had new belts and bearings installed and another major service performed. We added brand new tires, shiny new lug bolts, and had a new battery put in. We had the mechanic go over the car piece by piece to make sure it is just as good mechanically as the car looks aesthetically. We’ve never had any trouble with it and it’s been bulletproof. The 328 had only 19,520 miles at time of the photo shoot last week. It will likely have a few more miles added because of service updates at the dealer prior to sale. As you can see from the photos, the 328 is in wonderful condition. We have made sure it was well taken care of. The original paint is in great shape with no real noticeable marks or issues. The leather interior is unmarred and the seat bolsters are in excellent condition, with nothing more than very light signs of use on the driver’s side. The dash has no leather pulling. The spare wheel and tire up front have never been used. The vinyl trunk cover zips correctly without any gaps. A second Alpine radio replaced the original Sony the dealer installed and it works fine. The windows are clear and they go up and down normally so for those that crave an all-OEM car, this one is ready for Classiche certification, concours, car shows, etc. All doors and lids open and align properly. Basically, the car is just what you would expect with low-miles and one caring owner. The manual steering is fantastic and provides the full, small, go-cart type feel that has been lost with newer models. The gated, 5-speed manual gearbox is smooth after a warm up as all the older cars take a little heat in the oil to get into 2nd gear smoothly. The clutch is easy to use and solidly biting. The brakes with the ABS work as intended with good pedal feel. The car revs and accelerates very smoothly and strongly. The car has the OEM stock exhaust. The tubi doesn’t really improve much on the 328 sound – just saving some weight. You will be having fun with both hands and feet with this car. The car comes with original owners manual, stamped maintenance book, and leather pouch as well as the emergency service light. The car comes with two original ignition keys and two door keys included. It also has the original window sticker and bill of sale. There are only a few, real detractions for the the near-perfect car. It does not have any covers for the car, seats, or wheel. They were misplaced after moving to a new house in the past. The targa top mounting pin is a little worn from use. And the rear bumper was repainted after a bump in a grocery store parking lot while the car was parked. You won’t notice or be disappointed with the work done to fix it, but we want to disclose everything to the new buyer. No other issues. We’d find a set of the covers on ebay and a set of matching Schedoni luggage to make the car fully as complete as possible. We have the clear New Jersey title from 1989 in hand. Most enthusiasts prefer the concave wheels of the earlier 328’s giving the cars more of an edge with less “padding.” The car was delivered brand new in fall of 1987 at Gaston Andrey Ferrari outside of Boston, Massachusetts. The 328 is considered a very reliable car and one of the lowest cost Ferrari’s to maintain and this one is no exception. The car has only needed annual services for fluids, brakes, battery, hoses, and inspections along with recall campaigns the last 26 years. The car has been serviced several times for major services in its life – most recently at Ferrari of Atlanta in July of 2014. The car has had plenty of tender loving care with service. It has had new fuel lines and coolant lines, and been gone over from head to toe. We can give you a thorough run-down of all that has been done to the car to bring it to the highest levels. It is a true time capsule, driven enough to keep it in good shape at 450 miles per year, but not enough to lose it’s value as a cream puff. The 328 had only 13,000 miles at time of the photo shoot. 1988.5 Ferrari 328 GTB This is it. If you are looking for the "holy grail" of Ferrari 328 cars, you're now looking at it. This is a 1988 Ferrari 328 GTB, a "late" 1988 328 model (often called a 1988.5), in the iconic and classic color combination of Rosso Corsa over Beige, and most importantly, a GTB hardtop coupe. Please do not confuse this car with the vast majority of 328s on the market; the GTB is extremely rare, especially in the US. In fact, there were only 19 1988.5 328 GTB cars built for the US market, and this is one of them. The 1988.5 328 cars contained cosmetic and mechanical improvements over the earlier years, such as a redesigned suspension and steering system, convex wheels, and other various (and subtle) interior and exterior differences. What the 1988.5 cars do not have, however, is ABS brakes, which were introduced in 1989 (for the US cars). Many enthusiasts and collectors prefer the 1988.5 over the 1989, because the ABS pump in the 1989 cars is now not available and must be rebuilt, often difficult to do. And, the brake feel is dramatically changed in the ABS cars. The 1988.5 cars have all of the improvements, without the ABS. And this particular car is inarguably one of the finest 1988.5 328 GTBs, if not one of the finest 328s period, in existence. Starting with the original window sticker, this car is fully documented with an utterly complete history, proving that the indicated mileage of 27,676 miles is true and correct. The car's most current owner had the car for 12 years, and during that time this 328 won numerous Platinum, first place, and other awards at various concours. And, in 2005, this particular car was featured on the cover of Forza magazine. The paint on this 328 GTB appears to be 100% original, as measured by a paint meter. And, the interior is equally completely original; there is no evidence of dye work on the leather, and the carpets and headliner are completely original. In the engine compartment, the zinc/cadmium plating is still shiny and intact on the various hard fuel and other lines, something that is very rare to see, indicating that this car was meticulously cared for. In fact, the entire engine compartment is beautifully clean and well maintained, as is the underside of the engine and even the entire car. A full major service, including timing belts change, was just completed in April 2016. I have driven this 328 GTB, and it drives exactly as a 1988.5 328 GTB should drive. The steering feel is tight and accurate, the suspension has that beautiful Ferrari balance of suppleness and sporty feel, and most importantly, the engine sings to its redline. All electrical components work, and the A/C blows cold. In short, the driving experience of this car lives up to its appearance; this is the best of the best. I advise my clients that in today's market, it is extremely important to buy the best car that you can, especially if you expect appreciation. The gap between values of the great cars and, well, everything else, is widening, as the market for these modern classics starts to mature and buyers are more educated. With such low miles, this car is gorgeous both inside and out! The exterior has no blemishes or paint defects. The targa top is in great shape with no fading or headliner issues (comes with cover). The non-smoker interior is just as fresh with no rips, stains, odors or extended signs of use. A timing belt service & brake fluid flush was completed in August 2015. The wheels have no curb rash and the Goodyear tires have excellent tread remaining. This Ferrari 328 GTS drives exceptionally nice and drives much tighter & smoother compared to many 308/328/355's we've had in the past. The clutch and manual transmission feel very nice and the 3.2L 8-cylinder engine (hence 328 model) is notably smooth with zero smoke or other issues. The air conditioning is cold, the windows and headlights work properly as do the rest of the features when we went through the car. There are no rattles, popping or suspension issues, etc. Simply put, this is a fantastic car and an excellent opportunity to own an amazing car that is sure to appreciate with time! We are pleased to offer 1986 Euro model 328 GTS s/n 59649, well documented from new back to the selling dealer and first owner, from new in Rosso Corsa FER 300/6 with cream leather and currently being treated to a 30k cam-belt service. S/n 59649 was sold new by Auto Becker, the authorized Ferrari dealer for Düsseldorf, Germany before coming to the US, and has a well-documented ownership and service history since new. Comes with the full set of owner’s books complete with the original warranty card listing the first owner, plus their leather carrying pouch; the tool roll and all tools; the vinyl cover for the removable Targa top and a three ringed binder with plastic sleeves for all original ownership and service documents. Also comes with both a very nice wooden rimmed steering wheel plus the Factory original leather-wrapped wheel. All major mechanical components have been serviced through its life and so the engine, transmission, brakes and suspension all work as they should. We have all original invoices and service docs on file. 328 GTS s/n 59649 has just had a pre-sale inspection done by Dugan Enterprises, Oceanside, CA, and is currently being treated to a full cam belt service including all new rubber belts; an oil and filter change; an A/C service plus a full new set of 205/50/16 front and 225/50/16 rear Kumo tires. A list of minor problems such as a loose left mirror; a new air intake boot and an engine bay detail are being resolved. Estimated final invoice, approximately $5,000.00 which is included in the sale price. Pre-sale inspection and estimate on file. The Rosso Corsa FER 300/6 paint is very nice and appears to be all original with no signs of spot repairs over the years and all panels have excellent gaps and fit. There is no evidence of accident repairs to the body, underside or chassis. The trim, gaskets, window glass and lenses are also in excellent condition. The cream leather on the seats and door panels is in excellent condition, especially considering that it is now 31 years old! The dash covering and headliner are in excellent condition, again, especially considering that it is now 31 years old! The carpets have been protected by throw rugs and are also in excellent condition. The car had excellent drivability and functioning of all systems and has been extremely well sorted before the current service and will be even better when finished! It goes straight hands-off with no shimmy and brakes in a straight line. The engine bay is nicely detailed and the under panels, belly pan and suspension are in good condition. The A/C is being recharged and will blow cold. 328 GTS s/n 59649 is fitted with the Factory optional 7 x 16 front and 8 x 16 rear wheels with a new set of 205/50/16 front and 225/50/16 rear Kumo tires. The 328 succeeded the highly popular 308 for the 1986 model year and offered an increased displacement V-8 plus a myriad of detail improvements throughout. The mid-engine 328 featured an upgraded 3.2-liter V-8 putting out 270 horsepower, thanks to a sophisticated Marelli electronic ignition system and the retained Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. The styling was freshened with new seat patterns, new door handles and tidier and more modern treatment to the front and rear bumpers both of which were painted in body color. The controls were significantly reworked as well, with new switch gear and revised dashboard and door trims. Production of the 328 ended in the fall of 1989, marking the end of the transverse mid-engine Ferraris, a line that began with the 246 Dino. As one of the last Ferraris engineered and launched during Enzo Ferrari’s lifetime and as the last of the pre-computer Ferraris, the 328s are revered for their blend of usability and comparable reliability, as well as the comparative ease of servicing, thanks to in-car engine service work and cam-belt replacements. Give us a Call: 973-610-7111 or 862-200-0066 yellowcompassgroup.com 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS We are selling a 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS with only 13,000 miles.  It is a true time capsule.  The last of the cars overseen by Enzo Ferrari – the Ferrari 328’s are regarded as the last of an era of handmade cars at the factory in Maranello, Italy. Only 6,068 GTS cars were produced.  The values of these cars have been going up and show no sign of wavering. Obviously many enthusiasts are hoping to find a great one before the ship sails and they become similar to the 246 Dino in desirability for an era of boomers and gen-x’ers and pricing goes out of reach. With that out of the way, let’s talk about this car. The car is really immaculate and ready for your collection and being entered in concours events across the US. There are fewer and fewer low mileage time capsules out there. Ordered in Nero with Beige leather interior and Beige carpets, this combination is very, very sharp.  It takes the fan favorite Magnum PI 308 and brings it to that next, more modern level with many, many upgrades and refinements mechanically and aesthetically.  Most enthusiasts prefer the concave wheels of the earlier 328's giving the cars more of an edge with less "padding." The car was delivered brand new in fall of 1987  at Gaston Andrey Ferrari outside of Boston, Massachusetts. The 328 is considered a very reliable car and one of the lowest cost Ferrari’s to maintain and this one is no exception. The car has only needed annual services for fluids, brakes, battery, hoses, and inspections along with recall campaigns the last 26 years. The car has been serviced several times for major services in its life – most recently at Ferrari of Atlanta in July of 2014. The car has had plenty of tender loving care with service.  It has had new fuel lines and coolant lines, and been gone over from head to toe.  We can give you a thorough run-down of all that has been done to the car to bring it to the highest levels.  It is a true time capsule, driven enough to keep it in good shape at 450 miles per year, but not enough to lose it's value as a cream puff. The 328 had only 13,000 miles at time of the photo shoot. It will likely have a few more miles added because of service updates at Ferrari of Central New Jersey prior to sale. As you can see from the photos, the 328 is in wonderful condition. All three owners have made sure it was well taken care of. The original paint is in great shape with no real noticeable marks or issues. The leather interior is unmarred and the seat bolsters are in excellent condition, with nothing more than very light signs of use on the driver’s side.  The dash has no leather pulling. The spare wheel and tire up front have never been used. The vinyl trunk cover zips correctly without any gaps. The Blaupunkt 'Berlin' radio with control wand is original installed with the car when new and it works fine. The windows are clear and they go up and down normally so for those that crave an all-OEM car, this one is ready for Classiche certification, concours, car shows, etc. All doors and lids open and align properly. Basically, the car is just what you would expect with low-miles and one caring owner. The manual steering is fantastic and provides the full, small, go-cart type feel that has been lost with newer models. The gated, 5-speed manual gearbox is smooth after a warm up as all the older cars take a little heat in the oil to get into 2nd gear smoothly. The clutch is easy to use and solidly biting. The brakes with the ABS work as intended with good pedal feel. The car revs and accelerates very smoothly and strongly. The car has the OEM stock exhaust. The tubi doesn’t really improve much on the 328 sound – just saving some weight, so I never added one. You will be having fun with both hands and feet with this car. The car comes with original owners manual, stamped maintenance book, and leather pouch as well as the emergency service light and tool roll. The car comes with two original ignition keys and two door keys included. There are only a few, real detractions for the the near-perfect car. It does not have any covers for the car, seats, or wheel.  And the front bumper corner was repainted after a bump in a parking lot while the car was parked. No other issues. We’d find a set of the covers on ebay and a set of matching Schedoni luggage to make the car fully as complete as possible.
