1993 Dodge Viper R/T 10 1st Generation Only 5,270 Original Miles Let's just go ahead and just end the debate: There's still nothing on the road today that can compare to an early Viper in terms of sheer audaciousness. An 8-liter V10, six gears, and no windows or roof? ( Removable side windows, cockpit cover and cloth top included) No other car in recent memory has such a single-minded purpose, and seeing one on the road, even over two decades after their debut, is still a special occasion. That's why we were so happy to offer you this extremely low mileage '93 Viper RT-10. With only 895 produced in '93, this Viper RT-10 truly is a rare modern day classic. However, you would be hard pressed to find another with fewer miles. This Viper has only been enjoyed sparingly and displays only 5,270 miles over 20 years after it left Detroit. What can you say about a car that is virtually new? The paint is as good as factory paint got in 1993, and on the Vipers, it seems Chrysler went the extra mile to make it look spectacular. The paint is deep and glossy, and the Viper's body panels look fantastic.. Glass, emblems, lenses and everything else on the exterior of this car is similarly well preserved. It also includes the soft top, side curtains and cockpit cover which I was told have never been used. Are you getting the picture here? This is a showroom fresh new 1993 Dodge Viper. The engine under this cars massive hood needs no introduction. Displacing a massive 8.0 liters and turning a stout 9.1 to 1 compression ratio into 400 horsepower at 4,600RPMS and 450 lb./ft. of torque, this 488 cubic inch aluminum beast is one of the most outrageous powerplants ever bolted between the fenders of a production car. Dodge designers knew the big mill would be the cars focal point, so they went out of their way to dress it up. The bright red intake manifold, the cast aluminum valve covers with the Viper logo, dual throttle bodies all add up to something that's just made to show off. In fact, it's such an impressive piece that I'm really surprised the Mopar guys didn't put a Lexan window in the hood like Team Corvette did for the ZR1. This Viper's big engine is absolutely immaculate from its dual throttle bodies all the way down to its aluminum oil pan, tubular stainless exhaust manifolds and regularly refreshed fluids; and everything under its hood is showroom fresh and looks as clean as the day the car rolled out of the 'snake pit' in Detroit. Underneath the car, you'll find a spotless chassis, that's complete with a 6-speed manual transmission that sends power to a limited slip differential with 3.07 gears. The combination of the three is able to push the Viper to nearly sub 13 second quarter mile time of 13.1 @ 108mph. However the independent front and rear suspension also impressed critics when it was first unveiled and meant that on a skid pad the Viper was able to push to nearly a 1 full G. At the corners of the car, power four wheel disc brakes, which come equipped with dual piston calipers and 13 inch rotors. And keeping all this thoroughbred hardware rolling down the road is a handsome set of the original 17" Viper alloy rims which wear wide Michelin rubber. ( New tires with only a few hundred miles! Original tires where showing dry rot.) If you can't tell by now, the early Vipers were built in such a way that places an emphasis on simplicity and performance above all else. Swing open the doors and you'll see a black and silver two-tone leather interior, which much like the rest of the car, appears to have never seen any drive time. The seats, wrap great looking perforated leather around molds that are designed to keep you in place during the most spirited driving; and are probably even suitable for track duty. Between those seats, an industrial console, props a 6-speed shifter between a simple emergency brake handle. At the front of the car, white-faced gauges, which include a 180 MPH speedometer, keep an eye on the big engine's vitals. And in front of the driver, a leather wrapped steering wheel that is branded with the Viper logo. At the center of the dash, a horizontal row of auxiliary gauges is the coolest arrangement since the '69 Camaro and its console-mounted units. Air conditioning wasn't an option in '93 because let's face it, air conditioning robs horsepower. Everything inside this cockpit, from the tilt steering wheel to the courtesy lamps, functions properly and looks great. The sale of this wonderfully preserved Viper includes the original owner's manual, Window Sticker, Two keys with keyfobs, wheel cap removal tool, and removable soft top, side curtains and cockpit cover. It's hard to believe that this Viper could be purchased in '93 and then be driven less than 5,500 miles. How can someone show that much self control? It's clear when looking over every aspect of the viper that its previous owner was extremely meticulous and cared for this Viper as if it was their child. There's really no wrong answer for what to do with this Viper once you purchase it: Treat it as an investment and double your money in 20 years, or unleash those 400 horses from under the hood and be transplanted back to the early 90's. Whatever your plan is, this Viper will not disappoint. Know Issue's: There are two minor flaws on the car. In 1993 Dodge was having a issue with the production of the Viper hoods. 3,000 units where to be made in 1993 but only 894 where produced due to a resin issue in the hood. There are very very minor imperfections on the hood. The imperfections are the size of a small pin head and are only visible in certain light. A possible wet sand and buff could remove them but I never attempted it. Some viper enthusiast look for these imperfections showing the cars originality. I had a estimate of $800 to repair the hood and repaint with base coat clear. The average eye wouldn't notice it but I want to make the buyer aware. there is also one minor hairline crack on the rear quarter panel very minor see photo's. Only ten sets were produced for 98 model Vipers, three of them RT/10s and seven of them GTS. I purchased these wheels from one of those original Viper owners of 98 Gold Editions. He took the wheels off his car is 1999 with 324 miles on the set (including tires). They sat in his climate controlled garage until 2012 when I bought the set and had them installed on this Viper in 2013 with 6330 miles. The Wheels are in immaculate condition as well. No scratches or curb rash or any issues. 100% factory finish and look perfect. The tires (for 17 years old) are incredible. No dry rot, and still about 90% tread left. yes they are old, but ride perfect. They dont leak and ever give me problems and have driven the car upto speeds of 120 MPH. Currently this original set of factory wheels and tires only have 1, 392 miles on them and they show perfect. A week after I installed these, took the Viper to its first local car show and won BEST IN SHOW! No Engine modifications and runs perfect. Oil changed regulary despite the low miles. Recently replaced the battery two years ago. Car has been driven just enough to not have any leaks or mechanical issues. Starts, runs, idles perfectly. Does not overheat. Sounds amazing. 100% Reliable every time. Never had a Check Engine Light come on, ever. Passes emissions every year without fail. Just passed it last emissions test last month. Everything works prefectly as it should. The Sound System works perfect, cass deck works great. No blown out speakers. The leather is amazing condition. Treated once a year and it shows. Virtually perfect with no clouding or scratches on the plastic windows. OEM hard top. Viper red in perfect condition, absolutely as new. (I’m not sure this was ever installed) OEM and original to the car three spoke wheels wrapped in the original 22 year old tires. (Could be used for show or display.) OEM Forged and polished Viper GTS wheels with brand-new Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Many of these GTS wheels are cast, these are FORGED. I added these to preserve the original wheels and update the look. Brand-new Covercraft custom made 'dustop' model indoor car cover. I had this made after obsessive research on the subject of car covers. After much trial and error I now own three of these covers. They are the best I’ve found. History: I purchased this car from a collector in Missouri who acquired it from the estate of the original owner in Iowa. I’m told the original owner passed away and the car remained in his family for many years. The prior owner purchased it after an exhaustive search for a “collection worthy” viper. His criteria (like mine) were that there was NO damage, and ZERO modifications. This was the car he found. Carfax will reveal a brief ownership as he elected to sell this on for a car he could use more regularly. I stumbled upon this, discussed with the prior owner, and bought it sight-unseen. I was anxious about how this would really look and when the delivery truck arrived I was blown away. The car was (and is) in STUNNING original condition; far nicer than I expected. The service history is limited (so is the mileage). The service records are indicated on the Carfax report. It shows a consistent and low annual mileage accumulation from 1994 through today with no unusual surges or valleys in accumulated miles. There are NO indications of any mechanical or cosmetic issues with the exceptions of those I will note here (and all of which are pictured). Small 2 inch paint crack in the hood. Typical location and occurrence for Gen-1 Vipers, and very difficult to photograph. In certain lighting it appears as a small scratch. It has not moved or changed during my ownership. Mild aluminum oxidation under the paint on the driver side aluminum sill. Some areas were touched up and are now imperceptible. I decided to leave well enough alone and deal with the minor imperfections. Very minor and shallow scratches on the front chin, and one on the rear bumper. Professionally touched up and nearly imperceptible. Unavoidable dimpling along the body. This is a natural occurrence as the body panels age and not apparent in any photography but is present on ALL vehicles. The original dash is slightly weathered in appearance but I have maintained its originality versus the typical re-painting in black or body-color. I intentionally mention this point because most of the dashboards you find in these cars are either severely worn and in need of replacement or refinishing, or poorly re-painted in a deviating, unoriginal color. This one is well preserved and original. Small tear in weatherstripping on passenger side door at the tightest pinch-point on the door trim. Not a functional issue. I state the defects first because that is the totality flaws. In my judgement virtually EVERYTHING ELSE IS PERFECT. I have an extremely critical eye and maintain my cars to a higher standard than most would consider sane. (I enter and win local Concours events). This is my oldest car and by far its in the best condition. It’s been detailed with Adams detail products and there are no swirl marks in the finish whatsoever. The interior is equally outstanding. There are no scuffs or wear-marks on the leather and none of the "drag marks" typical of these interiors. I have chosen not to obsessively detail the wheel-wells (a typical practice of mine) because many original assembly paint and grease markings are still present and these were just too cool to risk removing. The pictures show an obviously well cared for and extremely detailed car in remarkable original condition. The wheels (inside and out) body crevices, under hood, etc., are detailed to a high standard. I do believe this car is ready to win local shows as-is. Regarding objective condition numbers, I would consider this a 2+ (show quality driver). Bearing in mind that a condition #1 car is flawless with even the tire treads groomed, 2+ is very conservative. I think that is the highest rating a car driven over the road could reasonably expect to have. Market Value: My asking price of $37,991 reflects what I consider to be UNDER fair market value based on the Haggerty price guide. My asking price INCLUDES the forged GTS wheels with brand new Michelin Pilot Sport Tires and the OEM double-bubble Hard-top. ($5000+ of extras.) Why am I selling? The honest reason is- I need to focus on other things. This is a second sports car and accordingly it sees very limited use. I have another car that I devote a lot of time and attention to, drive more regularly, and since it has a back seat I can take my 2 year old daughter along for the ride.
