2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Passenger Work Van 64,000 Miles Salvage Title. Purchased this in the spring of 2014 with 58,000 miles. Took it straight to the dodge dealer and they did $2400 worth of work to it including oil, cooling, and transmission flush and fills, complete tune up with plugs, wires, and filters, new shocks, new rear end, new water pump, and new brakes and rotors, and a new battery. Also just put 4 new good year wranglers on it in March of this year…they have about 1,000 miles on them. I have paperwork for all of the work done. Van was in an accident in the summer and the collision broke the front bumper mounts and insurance company totaled it. Can no longer get it inspected in PA so need to sell. Inspected until April 2016. Mechanically, the van drives great. Starts first time every time. Drove it 600 miles to the beach this summer with no issues. has rust to rockers and front and rear of frame including the bumper mounts. Wheel wells and floor pan are still in good shape. Have 1 set of seats for it. AC and heater work but blower only works on high speed. Has a squeaky belt. Not pretty to look at but won’t leave you stranded. Has just over 64,000 miles but I am still driving it so may go up a little. I would be willing to drive the van up to 150-200 for a small fee if you want it delivered. I've owned this van since 2004 or so, and overall, it's about the most reliable vehicle I've ever had. It starts every time, runs great, and has power to spare.First the bad: It's UGLY. I replaced the doors about 5 years ago, and since they didn't match, gave it a full spray job. I specifically chose Rustoleum gray because I can match it anytime, anywhere. Since that initial refinish, I've continued to touch it up with a brush, and that's exactly what it looks like. As rust develops in the usual spots (Rocker panels, mainly), I just shoot some foam in there, slap some glass over it, and paint it over with the same paint. It's good enough to pass PA inspection, and even looks half decent from a distance (never been pulled over), but the closer you get, the rougher it looks.I have a video virtual test-drive online so you can actually hear it run, but since Ebay doesn't allow links, you'll have to write me for it. The good is that it runs strong, has never failed me, and I wouldn't hesitate to jump in and drive it cross country on a moments notice -- trailering any of my other cars -- and that's no exaggeration. In fact, a year or so ago, after not driving it for about six months, I had an opportunity to acquire a free Grand Cherokee -- but it had to be trailered from about 250 miles away. I just jumped in the van, rented a trailer, and went an fetched it without a second thought, and it never gave me a moment of concern (other than when I got home and discovered I'd forgotten to strap the Jeep to the trailer.) Details:5.9L (360 ci) throttle-body-injection engine. 727 Torqueflite trans. Limited slip differential (posi-traction). Cruise, tilt, PW, PD, air (not currently working), tinted glass all around. HD frame-mount trailer hitch. ~130,000 miles. Tires are brand new (< 1 mile on them): 235-75R15 non-studded winter tires. Spare is good.Brand new battery, recent high-volume oil pump and aftermarket (built-in) oil pressure and volt meter gauges. I've replaced both lower control arms in the past couple of years. Brakes, front end, steering, suspension are all good. It's inspected, and I've generally kept up with maintenance. I just installed a new magnetic pickup in the distributor. Starts every time with no hesitation whatsoever It's an excellent work vehicle, and could be a prospect for a camper conversion.I also did an iffy job on installing the doors, so they need some adjustment. You can see in the pictures they don't hang quite right, but the hinges are solid -- just not adjusted right. I honestly don't drive it enough to keep careful track of oil consumption -- I do know I throw a quart in now and again (I always use 15W50, as per the previous owner's advice, and have never had any issues with it starting, even after sitting for weeks in sub/near-zero temperatures), but it doesn't smoke, and there are no obvious hemmorages like around the rear seal or anything like that.This was originally a decked-out passenger van, so it's got nice cloth factory seats in the front, door panels, and so forth. (Seat brackets but no seats in rear.) The headliner in the rear was hanging, so I took it down. I also picked up the carpeting in the rear (which was pretty funky anywy) to fully inspect the floors before putting it up for sale. I did discover a couple of small holes as a result, but they're not compromising any spring mounts or structural points, so a bit of metal and some fiberglass should suffice to get them under control. (See the pictures)There's one hole in the body, also shown in the pictures, that I haven't gotten around to filling. Again, I emphasize that my body work is pretty crude -- this will never be a show van -- but I am confident it will hold together for a good long while to come.There's a short somewhere in the courtesy light circuit that will drain the battery if left connected for long stretches -- like, more than a month or so. Since I don't use it regularly, I just keep that plug disconnected under the hood -- it's easy to reach when needed. The window washer reservoir has a crack (leaks) -- I have a replacement -- just haven't gotten around to installing it. There are also several spare side windows that came with the extra doors.No knocks or any suspicious noises -- check out the video (contact me for link) -- I made the video after the van hadn't run in a month or more, so you can see how it starts with no problem after sitting a while. A/C only recently stopped blowing cold, so it probably just needs an inspection and recharge. As I said, I use the sporadically, so it sits for long stretches, though I try to take it out once a month or so.All in all, it's a tough, strong running vehicle. The only reason I'm selling it is due to (hopefully temporary) financial challenges, and if they manage to resolve themselves in a timely manner, I will definitely keep it. It's not a vehicle I part with willingly, and if you end up being its next owner, you will understand why. Any other questions -- just ask.
