This is a very nice SUV that I bought from my mother-in-law in early 2013. She bought it from the first owner in 2004/2005. She drove it between Lemoore, Hanford, Modesto and Arnold California. So most of the miles are highway miles. It really is at home on the freeway or in the mountains, and it gets decent gas mileage if you are careful on the gas pedal. It has an onboard computer that monitors efficiency and it averages about 18-20 on highway/freeway. Urban traffic really drags the mpg down to about 14 in the city. But it does have a lot of power and could easily tow a boat or a trailer for extended periods. I have used it as my daily driver until last summer when we bought a second car. I think I have put 5-6000 miles on it since I bought it. All high mileage vehicles have parts that have to be maintained after a while, and anyone familiar with Durangos, probably knows about the sensor issues. Most of the first and second generations, had some squirrly speed and brake sensors which made the check engine light come on. I replaced all the speed sensors and the brake sensors along with the brakes last summer, so they all have about 1000 miles on them. The hoses were getting old and the heater core was plugged, so I replaced those hoses and flushed the heater core, radiator and transmission. I have also changed the gear oil in the transfer case and the differential, and I have greased all the nipples. This is all fresh work. The headlights have also been cleaned and polished, and I put a new belts on too. She really purrs now, and is ready for anything you can throw at her. The body is in good/excellent condition in my opinion. It has seen a lot of snow so there is some rust on the running boards under the truck, but it is not visible from outside. The muffler is rusty as well, which is to be expected on a snow driven truck with 180,000 miles on it. Frame is perfect, and I don't think it has ever even been in a fender bender (no rust). There was pretty nice aftermarket sound system installed by my mother-in-law (I believe). There are 2 10 in Kicker subs in a carpeted box with two amps : Soundstream 480 and a Coustic Xm4. There are also some nice coaxial pioneer full ranges that are enclosed in separate carpeted boxes as well that are used to boost the rear. The receiver is a Pioneer Super Tuner III. The system is designed to work in tandem with the factory sound system so when if the additional speakers are removed as seen in the pics, the factory speakers still work fine. If any buyer is interested in aftermarket sound system, we can negotiate a cost if offers for the vehicle are below 80% of the asking price. I will offer it free of charge if it is sold for at least 80% of my asking price. I can add pics if anyone requests them.
