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p for auction is a nice, clean 1964 Dodge Dart 270. I do not know too much about the history of this car as it was acquired at an estate sale. Before I purchased the car, the gas tank had been replaced along with the entire suspension. I know that the mileage is correct as it was purchased from the family of the original owner. The floors are rock solid with no signs of rust. The body is very straight and in very nice shape and there is no rust anywhere. The interior could use some work, it needs a carpet and a headliner. The seats are in usable shape but are worn. Since I have owned the car I have had the entire engine completely rebuilt. The brake system was gone through and any necessary repairs were made. The exhaust is brand new as well. It has 4 brand new tires. The radio is an original MOPAR radio and it works very well. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will answer them as best I can. The car is currently registered and inspected. The last time I drove the car it stalled on me and it felt like it was choking a little so I haven't driven it since and that was about 6 months ago. I was told that it was an adjustment that was needed to the timing or the points but I never had it done. Thank you for looking and happy bidding! I forgot to add that this is the higher output slant 6 that really moves, it is also the last year for the push-button transmission control. SINGLE FAMILY OWNER 1964 Dodge Dart 270 with a Chrysler 170 Slant 6 engine. It is a push-button-shift with 3 manual gear shifts. Car includes factory power steering and factory air conditioning. This classic car was the showroom car when my family bought it in 1964. It is nearly untouched and has been kept in a garage for most of its life. Fair-Good condition with light rust and original paint excluding the trunk. The car has had two fender benders in its lifetime: one in the 80s and one in 2013. Original keys, operating instructions booklet, warranty manual & the "Dodge Golden Anniversary" guide to "carefree motoring" booklet are included. Since this is a 51 year old car there is normal wear and tear on the interior and nicks on the paint. Still, it is in great condition for its age and is a perfect car for everyday driving or cruising around on your day off. The speedometer just got rebuilt but does not have the connector cable. The mileage on the car is not fully known since the speedometer went out earlier this year. It is roughly 83,000 miles. Also,the turn signal switch needs a bit of repair. Message me if interested!

Bessy is a restored survivor, 1965 Dodge Dart 4 door 270 powered by a rare original 273 V8 powerplant with less than 70K original miles on her. Painstakingly brought back to showroom condition over the course of the past year, there have been so many parts replaced or restored it’s hard to list them all, but see details below. Most restored Darts from this era are the 2-door muscle car version, and those are easy to find. This car is one of a kind find, turns heads everywhere it goes, and gets multiple offers driving around town. This car is not for those who are shy or dislike attention. A true enthusiast's machine, Bessy will provide it’s owner with many more years of faithful service, in true class and with sleeper car power. I’m the second owner of this classic head turner. I bought from my colleague after he decided to clear out his garage to make room for new toys. She had sat in the garage since the late 80s, when she was taken out of service where she waited for a little over 30 years under a car cover and stacks of magazines. I partnered with Precision Auto Center in Bay Ridge, New York to bring this classic barn find back from obscurity. With over $20k dollars is labor, OEM parts and a few safety and performance upgrades, this vehicle drives and handles even better than when it rolled off the showroom floor back in 1966 as a dealer car. All the chrome was in decent condition, so while there are many many upgrades, we kept the restoration to a slight wabi-sabi or survivor condition. Some wear shows on the dashboard, chrome, etc. But as of just this year, she is finished and ready for her new home. I want to stress that this is a drive ready, turn key car. Nothing drips, leaks or god forbid smokes. She runs off of regular unleaded fuel, handles like a dream on the highway or in the city. This 1968 Dodge Dart had an original 273 V8 engine. It was purchased from the original owner who resided in Dallas TX and garage kept. There were only about 65,000 original miles and all the documentation is with the car to include build sheet, window sticker and original title. This car was completely opened up and re painted. There was absolutely no rust anywhere on the car. We decided to upgrade the car with some modifications. We replaced that hub caps with Crager mag wheels. We have the original hub caps that came with the car. This car had the original factory paint which was a dull mopar gold. We repainted the car with a 2009 Inca gold color that was used for the Dodge Prowler. We had all the black accents with correct bumble bee stripe on the trunk. We added ice pearl on top of the paint to give it a super glossy finish with tons of sparkle. We replaced the hood with a Stinger six pack fiberglass hood. Still have original metal hood. Replaced the 273 engine with a 360 crate motor. Added a cam and headers. Original transmission and drive shaft and original single tract rear end. All in excellent shape. MSD ignition. Recently replaced all the rocker arms. Last year replaced alternator with a chrome one and still have the original one. Added chrome valve covers. Brand new aluminum radiator and have original radiator. Chrome bumpers and trim all original and in beautiful shape. Just replaced master cylinder last month. Drum brakes all recently replaced. AM radio still works. Dash and seats and interior are all original black and in good condition. All original factory air conditioner works but needs belts. I have most of the receipts from the work that has been done with an excel spreadsheet of when and what has been done to the car. This car is a great cruiser and does not have to be a trailer queen. Drives smooth and beautiful. Starts right up and runs great. Not built to race but for a nice sound and about 400 HP. Being a female, this car has been tended with loving care and garage kept. Reason for selling is we no longer have the room for it and hope for someone else to be able to enjoy it as much as I have. It has won numerous trophies and people love the look of it as soon as they see it.
