1996 Dodge Dakota Pickup Truck 4x4 (4wd) SLT Club Cab 5.2 liter V8 Automatic with 227,000 miles on it. The body and frame are in good shape, and it hasn't needed anything for inspection the past few years. The 4-wheel drive works, as do the power windows, door locks, etc. HOWEVER, it isn't currently inspected. The reason is that I lost oil pressure and was compelled to continue driving anyway, so it's got some engine issues, will either need a new/used engine replacement or repair of the current engine. It starts and runs and sounds ok, but I'm pretty sure a bearing is gone. I was looking to get a new motor for it, but I had an opportunity on an other vehicle so I didn't. I looked it up on KBB, and for private party in fair condition the price was $2,858. Naturally due to the fact that the engine will need to be replaced or repaired at some point I'm not looking to get that much for it. Asking $2,000 or best offer. Thanks for looking.

It is the top edition with all bells and whistles including the tow package with upgraded brakes. I have never used it for towing and the family I bought it from said they didn't either -- they used the truck to pick up firewood and stuff like that. I use it for home improvement projects and makes it easy to get anything needed from home depot etc. It has a 6.6 ft bed. It has the excellent v8 5.2L 318 motor and 5 speed transmission (Rare Package). 193,000 miles - no accidents. I have owned it for the past 5 years.I have customized it and done many upgrades and added new parts. All stickers, etc were removed and truck is a matte black (flat black) -- it was originally black from the factory. I have the original factory premium rims and tires painted gloss black (which have about 50-60% tread left).Aftermarket headlights (halo effect) and taillightsNew aftermarket fog lights(4) Custom rims with almost new tiresI have the premium (4) stock rims and tires as well (painted in black)New shocks and brakes all around.Tune up -- plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor, etc. Front bullbar (can be removed)Replaced front axle & wheel bearingsReplaced steering column shaft New alternator, battery, terminals, ground wires, and the solution was a new crankshaft timing senor ( I was chasing an intermitting starting issue which was the senor -- so all new extra parts your gain and my loss.I definitely have done more parts and stuff but cant remember.The only issue I know about is I dont know if the A/C works or not -- the belt on it bypasses the A/C so not sure if the prior owners did it on purpose or not -- I never looked into it because the pass summers here haven't been very hot. Title is clean and clear and in hand. You get both set of rims and tire packages and whatever extra parts and pieces I have that go with the truck.

Mechanic's Special - Selling a 1992 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab Pickup. It needs more work than it's worth for me to pay to have the work done. A mechanic or body shop could do the work, or use it for parts. Here is the GOOD: Strong V8 engine, good transmission, and good 4 wheel drive. Electrical system works fine: power windows, lights, etc. The BAD: Leaks: gas line; oil pan; radiator. Heat and Air aren't working. Odometer stopped working at 166,000+ about 50 miles ago. Exhaust system needs replaced. The UGLY: Body rust around fenders, truck bed, and frame. Part it out, or do a full restoration, or do the minimum necessary repairs and confine it to farm work. It drives, but due to the leaking issues, would not recommend driving it more than to load it on a rollback. Priced to move quickly. Payment: PayPal deposit of $200 required at end of sale, and balance within 7 days by cash only at pickup.

I will start by letting you know this truck is far from perfect. It runs actually quite well...starts every time for real! I monitored the oil and fluids very closely. No major leaks of any kind. Keep in mind this truck is not perfect although it runs well and drives well. Not 4x4. I don't off road. Extended cab not 4-door. It has in the past and currently done every moving job/construction project and random truck thing till now. I decided to buy a new winter vehicle that's why it is for sale.
