Mechanic's Special - Selling a 1992 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab Pickup. It needs more work than it's worth for me to pay to have the work done. A mechanic or body shop could do the work, or use it for parts. Here is the GOOD: Strong V8 engine, good transmission, and good 4 wheel drive. Electrical system works fine: power windows, lights, etc. The BAD: Leaks: gas line; oil pan; radiator. Heat and Air aren't working. Odometer stopped working at 166,000+ about 50 miles ago. Exhaust system needs replaced. The UGLY: Body rust around fenders, truck bed, and frame. Part it out, or do a full restoration, or do the minimum necessary repairs and confine it to farm work. It drives, but due to the leaking issues, would not recommend driving it more than to load it on a rollback. Priced to move quickly. This truck is in very fine condition and has been used by mainly two owners, the original owner who put about 130,000 miles on it and then was taken off the road for a few years by the second owner. I'm now the current owner and I have put the truck back on the road with no problem. I had a mechanic check out the vehicle and add some oil, and he stated everything was left in decent condition. The only defect the mechanic noticed was a cable that snapped on the underside of the truck that was used to secure a spare tire. The truck has a few scratches, but nothing that touch-up paint wouldn't fix. It has a small dent on the right side near the headlight, but the headlights still work, and a small dent near the front bumper. Aside from this, everything works great in the vehicle. The clutch has probably been replaced as it seems almost new and there have been other modifications to the vehicle. A new tire on the front left side was bought, adding to the original Dodge tires, and each tire is worth approximately $100. The engine is a V6 Magnum 3.9 L, but I am not aware of any other modifications made to the engine. The truck has a special bed lining and the vehicle has been plated around with steel along the truck bed, also in addition to the steps. The lights on the steps are broken, but this is a minor cosmetic issue and if anything they can be taken off or replaced without harm being done. The well-upholstered seats are extremely comfortable, the vehicle has decent A/C, the built-in radio cassette sound quality is superb, and standard cab holds a max of 3 people. Truck can hold a max of 950 kg attached to a trailer. The transaction will be through local pickup, with the extra option of a demonstrated drive around my neighborhood before the purchase. Payment can be through cash, cashier's check or PayPal deposit, but preference is cash (and price is more negotiable if you pay in cash). Additional costs will include title transfer and corresponding tags. Vehicle can get Historic tags once the ownership is transferred for a much cheaper price, but one-year MD tags will be $80 after inspection if you choose to get standard ones.
