It does carry a strong running 383, a 4-speed manual gearbox, plus a great color combination, which all adds up to a car that doesn't take itself too seriously and still delivers on its original promise of accessible performance. In an era filled with creative paint names, the yellow paint on this Super Bee didn't get anything more exciting than "Yellow," but that's OK because it looks fantastic. Somehow the combination of the subtle color and the outrageous hood scoops and bumble bee stripe out back makes it look even more sleek and aggressive and it really should be no surprise why these cars were a runaway success when they were new. The repaint and bodywork are a few years old but it looks awesome, particularly with the blacked-out hood treatment and that giant hood scoop. The finish shines up well, body gaps are par for the Mopar course, and the paint has a correct period look. Those aforementioned hood scoop proudly wears 'MOPAR' decals and the Super Bee emblem that's part of the bumblebee stripe out back is crisply rendered. The blacked-out grille seems to work even better with light colors and from behind the oval exhaust tips and Super Bee emblems give everyone else something to admire before you pull away for good. The black bench seat interior isn't glamorous, but it looks great inside the Super Bee shell and workmanship is excellent in every way. Factory bench seats were treated to reproduction seat covers and the door panels were restored to match. Factory-style black carpets include details like the driver's heel pad and you already know we love the look of a 4-speed shifter just poking out of the transmission tunnel like that. The small-diameter steering wheel focuses your attention on the Equus tach, which is located in just the right spot to allow unhindered views of the original gauges, and there are the usual aftermarket dials neatly installed under the dash. A modern AM/FM/CD stereo fits neatly in the original slot and the trunk is neatly finished with gray "mouse fur" upholstery that isn't exactly OEM but looks right. There's a strong-running 383 cubic inch V8 under the hood, and the Super Bee is easily recognizable with that big oval air cleaner up top. Smooth torque is the name of the game and the car launches with authority around town and cruises easily on the highway. A few dress-up parts like the finned Mopar Performance valve covers make it look good, and underneath that air cleaner there's an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor on a high-rise intake manifold. It's a strong runner, and we like the 383s a lot because they love to rev and they're virtually indestructible. The 4-speed manual transmission never even blinks at the torque channeling through it and the long-tube heders and new Flowmaster exhaust system sound great, as they always do behind a Chrysler big block. Also take a moment out check out the floors, which are in original condition and those Magnum 500 wheels, which carry fat BFGoodrich T/A radials. Fast and fun, this very attractive Super Bee under-promises and over-delivers in a lot of ways. And along the way, you might also discover that it's a smart buy. The engine is strong and runs great,transmission shifts great. All brakes have been gone through with new lines,good tight front end, power steering, new gas tank,new shocks,new 215/70/15" Goodyear tires on Crager wheels. Some pictures show it with the 14" steel wheels/dog dish caps. Comes with your choice of one set of wheels. All chrome is very nice with new front and rear bumpers,all good stainless,very nice front grill. Dual chrome mirrors. The black interior is also very clean and nice with new carpet and headliner. dash is clean. The exterior black paint is clean and nice with a red rear stripe. There is some filler in the qts and other places, but is a very solid car. Paint is around 3 years old. Some very minor bubbles on the lower rear rockers ,see all pictures. This is very minor and is the same as it was three years ago. Very solid car. Trunk, frames, fire-wall, cowl, door jambs, floors, etc. are all solid and clean. This car is very clean inside and out. It now has a rebuilt 383 engine,{4-6-70},electronic ignition,new edelbroke 4-bbl carburetor, new headers with 2 1/2" dual exhaust system, mini starter, rebuilt 727 automatic transmission, 8 3/4 rear end with non-posi gears. The engine is strong and runs great,transmission shifts great. All brakes have been gone through with new lines,good tight front end, power steering, new gas tank,new shocks,new 215/70/15" Goodyear tires on Crager wheels. Some pictures show it with the 14" steel wheels/dog dish caps. Comes with your choice of one set of wheels. All chrome is very nice with new front and rear bumpers,all good stainless,very nice front grill. Dual chrome mirrors. The black interior is also very clean and nice with new carpet and headliner. dash is clean. The exterior black paint is clean and nice with a red rear stripe. There is some filler in the qts and other places, but is a very solid car. Paint is around 3 years old. Some very minor bubbles on the lower rear rockers ,see all pictures. This is very minor and is the same as it was three years ago. Very solid car. Trunk, frames, fire-wall, cowl, door jambs, floors, etc. are all solid and clean. Nice 56 Dodge Coronet with a newly rebuilt 270 Poly engine. Runs great and has approximately 1500 miles since rebuild. It has two issues that need to be explained. While at the 2015 Lonestar Roundup the transmission started losing high gear. It will shift into high and then go in and out of gear. I had drove it to the Roundup with no problems but something has gone wrong with the high gear. May need rebuilding but I am not sure. Also, the left hand exhaust manifold has broken. I had the same problem about 2 years ago and had it welded up but the exhaust got banged loading it on a trailer and the manifold broke in the same location again. Other than those two things, I have been driving this almost daily and have had no problems with the car. I have been looking at other projects and need to sell this one to provide funding for others. I just finished the complete rebuild of the dash panel, gauges and wiring. I have painted the dash and rewired it including adding a fuse box. I have all photos of the engine and interior rebuilding. Floor pans have been replaced with heavy steel. Engine and front clip has been rewired also. Body is in need of some work or leave it as is. Interior is in very good shape. The car is completely original with the exception of the radio and wheels. I have the original wheels and hub caps that originally came with the car. This is a real head turner and gets a lot of compliments. When I go to a car show I never see another car like this. With a nasty reputation, these Super Bees were low-priced street brawlers that more than lived up to their billing and today remain some of the most popular muscle cars for all the right reasons. Complete with Govier docs and a matching-numbers powertrain, it's a pedigreed hobby car that can still throw down when the need arises. With all the wild color names Chrysler was using in the late'60s, this one has been repainted in its original code F5 Medium Green Metallic, which doesn't sound like much but when you see it in person you'll realize that this car was ordered by a grown-up. Discovering a clean, unrestored, matching-numbers, high-performance Mopar is akin to a needle in a haystack, and as a result this one enjoyed a fairly comprehensive restoration just a few years ago. The body shell was stripped to bare metal and rebuilt from there, and the fit and finish are beyond anything Chrysler could have managed in 1969. Panel gaps are quite good, the doors close effortlessly, and the sheetmetal looks like it just popped out of the presses moments before the paint was sprayed. And speaking of paint, the two-stage urethane captures the subtle gold undertones of the Medium Green finish, and it's simply dazzling in the sun. Super Bee graphics were added, including the blacked-out hood treatment and a tail stripe, and a set of hood pins give it an appropriately racy look. Nice chrome bumpers and a bit of stainless trim help with the presentation, and there's just no angle from which this car doesn't look great. While they were built to be budget brawlers, this Super Bee keeps it all business with a handsome two-tone green bench seat interior that was probably freshened when the paint was done a few years ago; it's just too nice to be original, isn't it? It offers a correct Rallye instrument cluster complete with functional Tic-Toc-Tach, a rare and desirable option all by itself. A column-mounted shifter manages a TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission, and until you've driven one of these torque factories with this kind of stomp-and-steer capacities, you just haven't lived. An original AM radio has been installed so it looks authentic and includes the cool vertical knobs that were a Chrysler trademark throughout the '60s. There's also a well-installed aftermarket A/C system with discreet vents under the dash, so it's a cool cruiser and even the trunk is finished with a correct mat, full-sized spare, and a complete jack assembly. The engine is the original, numbers-matching 383 cubic inch V8, which came out of the factory rated at 335 horsepower. Well-detailed when it was rebuilt in 2008, it shows a modest signs of use plus a coat of Hemi Orange paint on all the vital parts, a correct cold-air intake assembly, and a brand new alternator. There's an Edelbrock carburetor living under the massive air cleaner today, so throttle response is crisp and it's exceedingly easy to tune. The undercarriage is probably original and shows exceedingly well if that's the case, which surely comes from a life someplace warm. There are a pair of Flowmaster mufflers for that awesome sound you've always craved and it carries a sturdy 8.75-inch rear end that's up for some fun. Cool Magnum 500 wheels are the best possible choice and now wear 255/60/15 Dunlop radials. Matching-numbers Mopars are about as blue-chip as you're going to find, with this one ready to start having some fun while it appreciates.
