1970 Dodge Coronet 440 4 door sedan with a ton of mechanical work done over the last year. Has an small block 318 with overdrive trans swap (1993 Dodge A500) but the donor trans will only shift in reverse and I am tired of the project. It could be something easy, but I do not know and do not want to find out any longer. Top end of the engine is completely rebuilt/new (Heads, new intake, Edelbrock carb), brakes all around, radiator, hoses, belts, tires, manual steering swap and more. Engine runs, needs final tuning to carb. It drips a little, so one gasket may not have sealed right. Drive it onto a trailer or tow truck in reverse. This is not driving home. Probably have $3-4k in receipts for parts over the last year plus purchase price of vehicle. I have some older receipts too, and original window sticker and manual. I think the car has only had a couple owners, and for being in Chicago its whole life, its not terrible. There is some rust on lower body, and a hole in passenger floor (found windshield leaks right on floor and that is the cause). Original paint and interior. Extra parts in trunk, and extra rear window on back seat. A/C equipped car, but a/c was removed over rebuild. All parts in trunk to replace if wanted. Great winter project in good shape. Would make a fun cruiser (that is what I had planned), I just have too many projects and want to move this to fund the others. FIRST OF ALL, I WANT TO POINT OUT THE REAR END ISN'T BOLTED IN PLACE. THAT'S WHY THE REAR END LOOKS COCKED, NOT BECAUSE OF THE FRAME RAILS OR SUSPENSION. What I have is all the important original parts of a rare 69 Coronet RT and another 69 Coronet body to go with. The original car that would be built was a red, stripe delete, 440, automatic, ramcharger hood, with black interior car. I have sections from the original body from the torsion bar crossmember to the firewall forward to the radiator support, as well as the under rear seat area with package tray and also the driver side trunk rail area. Yes, it has a CLEAR TITLE, dash, fender tag, build sheet, original back seat, original steering column, original RAMCHARGER N96 hood complete with ducting and scoops plus another rust free hood, nice grille and bezels, tail light housings, and some other parts from the original car. The body I have that goes with was originally an rt as well but it was turned into a drag car years ago. It's had the fender aprons and radiator support removed, rear wheel wells cut, frame connectors added, and it's title, dash, interior, etc, are long gone. It will need it's share of work but it's build-able, especially if you were going to use the sections from the original car to build it. The ideal thing to do in my opinion, would just be to find a nice southern body or base model to transfer everything over to but the body I have would be a great donor if you plan to build the car back from ground up. The buy it now price includes everything I have to build this car. The hood alone can be worth $2500 to the right buyer, so please realize what you're looking at here. I feel this is a really good deal for what's here especially with the documentation of having a build sheet and fender tag. Already upset that Dodge had coined the "road runner" name in a 1967 Coronet ad, Dodge responded by launching its own budget muscle car. Based on the redesigned Dodge Coronet pillared coupe, Dodge looked to its Scat Pack symbol and released its new model in the spring of 1968 as the Super Bee. The $3,027 base price was $131 more than the Road Runner, which used the same basic chassis. Curb weight was nearly identical, and both used the same engines, so performance was almost identical. The standard engine was the 335 bhp four barrel 383 cid V8 that borrowed cylinder heads, camshaft and induction system from the Magnum 440. The 426 Hemi was the only engine option, but at nearly $1,000 more, it clashed with the budget nature of the Super Bee and only 125 were ordered. The low price meant minimizing ammenities, and although the Super Bee borrowed the Rallye gauge package from the Charger to edge out the Road Runner, a tachometer was still a $38 extra. A heavy duty suspension, brakes, four-speed manual transmission with Hurst Competition Plus shifter, and red-line wide oval tires were standard. The low price didn't mean low profile, and the Super Bee had bumble bee racing strips circling the tail, and a big Super Bee emblem hovering on the rear fenders. The grille was finished in black matte and the hood had a decorative power bulge. The wheel lips and the rear body panel were accented with thin bright moldings. Inside, the Super Bee had door-to-door carpeting, pleated vinyl seats and door panels, and a standard bench seat. Production: 2D Pillared Coupe w/ 383: 7,717. 2D Pillared Coupe w/ Hemi: 125.
