The beautiful sheetmetal has reportedly only been repainted once, suggesting that this car has led a pretty clean life. That's the original color, because after all, who doesn't like their convertible in Bright Red with a new black top. Dodge really got the design right in '66. This classic has a wide blocky stance that can make this intermediate look full-sized. There's plenty of style touches like the creases along the side that flare out on the quarters, and that cool taffy-pulled rear end that couldn't space out D-O-D-G-E any wider if it tried. The chrome and stainless trim package is original and shines remarkably for being nearly 50 years old. Those are even the original hubcaps... pretty cool, right? The best interior for a nice red cruiser is black, of course. The design proves once again that the Chrysler stylists were at the top of their game in the '60s, and even the base bench seat got detailing on the backrests that makes it look far more upscale than its price tag would suggest. This Mopar seems to carry most of its original components from the door panels to the carpets - all of which have held up quite nicely for its age. The interior chrome bits are complete and showing just a bit of patina. There's a dashboard full of real gauges, not idiot lights, and a slender steering wheel that allows you to guide the car with little more than your fingertips. This one even has the luxury of operating the power folding roof with one touch of a button. You might notice the factory radio is missing. That's because there has been a new Sony AM/FM/CD stereo w/remote was installed in the glove box to give you more modern tunes without ruining the original authenticity of the dash. Open the hood and see a 273 cubic inch V8 that shows all signs of being the same one that came from the factory. You can easily tell from the condition of the engine bay and all of the new components that this Coronet has been cared for to ensure that it will remain a faithful cruiser. Backing up this all-day enjoyment attitude is the effortless combination is the Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes. This one even has a 3.23 rear end ratio to make sure you can run on the highway without breaking a sweat. But just because this is a nice car doesn't eliminate a bit of a wild side. The upgraded dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers lets the world hear a hint of what V8 Mopar power is all about. This Coronet convertible feels original right down to its included first warranty card. It will be hard to get more classic American metal for the money. Barn find 1969 Dodge Coronet SUPER BEE. Very original and complete. Possibly not registered since 1980 (Dated Alabama plate on rear). NUMBERS MATCHING 383 with black bucket seats and console shift automatic on floor. T5 copper color with black vinyl top. I tried to start with new starter, plugs, wires etc but motor didn't run (I think timing chain) but turns freely and appears never out of car. Drivers door latch area , front floor, trunk and passenger rear quarter have rust. Frame rails and rockers look real good. Have fender tag and clean title. The classic car market has slowly shifted towards rat rods and wagons. So, here is an oppurtunity be part of a club of truly unique cars and owners. Here we have a rare 1966 coronet wagon, turned rat rod. These are becoming harder and harder to find. This car is drivin by a 225 slant six connected to a 904 automatic tranny and an 8 3/4 rear end. It runs and drives great, really unbelieveable considering it is lowered 3 inches. 3" inch blocks were installed in the rear while the torsion bars set down. Everything works in the car including the power rear window with the key and the switch on the dash. The car is fairly solid there is some rust in the right rear qtr and the lower portion of the tailgate other then that it just has some surface rust. I have not own this car for too long, my initial intent was to bag and upgrade the brakes and motor by planting a 440 or 360 but the ampunt of the projects I have, have exceeded my available time. Under the hood of this subtle monster sits a 440 that is putting out about 450 Horse Power. This car is all throttle and no bottle, no superchargers or anything. Just good old fashioned horse power. This is all matted to a completely rebuilt 727 3 speed automatic transmission. All that power is transferred to a Moser differential with Calvert suspension, and cal trac traction bars. Moser axles fill the tubes and all of this hooks up with Mickey Thompson drag radials. With the right traction and conditions, this car should run mid to high 10's in the quarter. Good to drive it there, run, and then drive it home if you wanted to. Once you look in the interior of this car you will see that it isn't all roll cages and aluminum race seats. Yes, it has a roll cage in it and two fire extinguishers for safety, but the side bars of the cars are removable so if you are not racing you can take them out and just drive it anywhere. The seats, carpet, and headliner, as well as the door panels are all brand new. You are going to see a line lock as well as a transmission brake on the car car for when it's go time and this car has plenty of go trust us. This car just hooks and goes. This car needs absolutely nothing. It is ready for you to get in, sit down, buckle up, and hang on. There is plenty of whoooah to go along with the go as this car has 4 wheel power disc brakes, but does have manual steering. You do not want to be hauling ass down the 1/4 mile and have a loose steering wheel in your hands. This color with the metallic finish really lights up in the sun. This car will be a crowd pleaser at your local classic car events, shows, cruise nights, etc. The chrome and bright work is very nice. We removed all the trim off the car and polished and refurbished it while the car was out at the paint shop. Results speak for themselves in the pictures. The interior, though mostly original and in good shape was taken up a notch in our shop. The engine is a strong running 383/330hp with factory level cam and a few slight upgrades.
