1970 RT/SE Dodge Challenger 440 Six Pack 4 Speed This is a beautiful car in every respect. It has undergone a 100% nut & bolt restoration by the previous owner who did an amazing job, It has less than 500 miles of driving since, most of which was just to and from car shows. The car was just shown at the Chicago MCACN Show (Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals) and was chosen by Hot Rod Magazine in thier selection of special cars for thier online event coverage. This car looks as good in person as it does in the photos, it starts at the twist of the key and runs & drives like new. A beautiful show car that you can actually drive! You'd be very hard pressed to find a nicer example, especially for the very reasonable reserve. Think about it, a one of 135 produced and completely restored, 440 Six Pack, 4 speed, RT/SE, a super rare and desirably optioned example, for less money than the cost of the restoration! This car has matching body numbers, engine number, dash VIN tag and Door VIN tag, Hemi 4 speed transmission is a replacement. A full break down of it's original fender tag options is shown in the sales flyer photo, the only added options are the Shaker Hood, 15 x 7 Road Wheels, and power steering. Let's talk numbers and rarity: Consider that there were 53,337 Challenger hard tops built in 1970Of those only 3,979 of those had the RT/SE optionOf those only 296 received the 440 Six Pack engineOf those only 135 were 4 speeds! Value? Considering that a similar 1970 Dodge Challenger (1 base model purple 383 R/T 4 speed car) was just sold at Mecum auction for over 100K, this car is a bargain! Pre-purchase inspections are welcome by appointment. I am selling this car for a friend, he and the car are located in Chicago Illinois.

This is a Plum Crazy Purple factory color with Black vinyl top. This is a SE package car, overhead console, full option ordered with AC. I have almost all the parts to reassemble the car. Most of the interior parts were purchased new several years ago.The car was prepped for paint several years ago as well. I do not have the windshield, but all other glass.Missing bumpers. This had a 383 automatic console shift. I still have the 727 auto transmission , but no longer have the number matching 383.I do Have a 440 high horse power motor, and 4 speed manual transmission to go with it. The motor , Cross Air Ram intake , ran when pulled out of a 72 Cuda. The motor needs to be gone through, it smoked slightly after running for a long period of time. possibly rings and or valve guides. This motor was a estimated 600 + HP motor.

Offered for sale is my freshly restored 1970 Dodge Challenger RT/SE. This is a true RT/SE car. JS29NOB******. I purchased this car a few years ago and have spent the last 2 years bringing it to what we have here. This is a nicely frame on restored true RT/SE FC7 plum crazy Challenger with white vinyl top (new). I consider this to be a very nice high quality #2 car that is meant to be driven and enjoyed. The car was completely stripped down to metal before repainting in original colors. It has had lower quarter patches, front lower quarter patches, new tail light panel, new rear crossmember (where bumper bolts to) and left side engine bay panel replaced during the restoration. This car is correct in appearance as it came off the line. New interior carpet, new Legendary Interiors front (leather) buckets and rear vinyl seats, new package tray and rear seat divider. Under the hood is a period correct but not original to the car 1970 383 engine with a complete and freshly rebuilt 727 torqueflite automatic transmission (believed to be original). This is the same combination the car was originally equipped with. I personally did not overhaul the engine during the restoration (it had been done by a previous owner). I tore it down for inspection and noticed the crankshaft was balanced. Removed the bearings caps, all good. Everything looked good so some fresh gaskets all around, new freeze plugs, water pump, t-stat, starter, plugs, plug wires, all new engine/light wiring harnesses and it runs top notch. It has been changed to electronic ignition. Some of the factory features are A/C (not currently charged, have a new A/C dryer that goes with it), power windows, power steering, overhead console (complete and working), AM radio, console, chrome wheel well moldings. The car was an original factory power drum brake set-up. I converted the front to disc for safety but retained all the original drum parts and they go with the car. Rebuilt power booster, new master cylinder, rebuilt date coded wiper motor, MOPAR yellow cap battery, new fuel tank, new fuel tank sending unit, fuel pump, new complete OE exhaust from the manifolds all the way back (resonators and mufflers), re-chromed original tail light bezels (done by Paul's Chrome). New door handles, door window hardware, radiator sent out and pressure tested, newer Edelbrock carb, trunk mat, new hood hinges, new door hinges, new package tray, new rear seat divider, new hood insulation pad, new emblems all around and much much more...... The front suspension is all new and completely rebuilt. New pitman arm, tie rods, bushings, links etc. It has been to the alignment shop and drives perfectly straight down the road no shake or shimmy in the wheel. Tire are 14" BF Goodrich and are excellent. I haven't tallied up my receipts but I'm well north of $60,000 into this car. Paint and body work alone was over $21,000.00. I have a photocopy of the original build sheet. Somewhere the actual build sheet got lost through ownership changed but somebody was smart enough to make a few photocopies. It's readable and correct so you can verify but not the best copy. Also the ID tag on the fender matches with the VIN on the windshield, that matches the door jamb. You can make out the last 6 of the VIN on the cowl (see pic) and it still retains its original radiator support as the last 6 of the VIN are clearly readable on it clearly documenting this as the real thing. This car is not perfect. Was never meant to be. There are still a few things that need finishing. The A/C is not charged. The blower fan runs constant so I disconnected it for now. It likely needs the resistor replaced (may be done if I get the time). Power windows work but motors a bit weak. AM radio not works but no reception? (haven't really look at it). The clock WORKS! As far as the history of the car goes, I have some documentation tracing it back into the 90's where it was a Southern car. The frame is very clean and had been undercoated by a previous owner some time ago. I have 100's of pictures documenting the restoration. I'd be happy to send a photobucket link to anyone interested. I am looking to sell as I have gone WAY overboard on this project and have 1 daughter in college with another off next year. Interest buyers can contact me anytime for a full and honest description of the car. I highly encourage anyone interested to hire an independent appraiser or come see the car in person before even considering a bid. A deposit of $500.00 is due within 48 hours of auction closing. The State of Maine does not issue titles for vehicles this old. Sold on Bill of Sale only. I do have a South Carolina title that shows ownership changes from one person to a dealer in S.C. then re-sold to a dealer in PA. There is actually a few old documents where this car was sold on eBay ages ago! I can be reached for any and all questions anytime: Mark 207-671-2209
