Fully documented by Galen Govier, at 18,369 miles on the odometer there may not be a lower mileage, unmolested original Charger R/T 440 Six Pack available. Extremely rare and highly sought after, this is only 1 of 80 cars ever made! Only 178 Charger R/T 440 Six Packs were produced. 80 of them were 4-speed cars, which this is. The Govier inspection was quoted "A near perfect original 1971 Charger R/T with only a few maintenance items replaced". Numbers matching means all seven (7) VIN's on this vehicle where found and documented. The original broadcast sheet, brochures, certificate of title, invoice and Bill of Sale all come with this car. Additionally, rare Mopar PR shots from "Dodge News Photo" are included. It doesn't come optioned any better. 1971 may have been the first year of the 3rd generation Charger, but it was also the last year for the 390hp 440 Six-Pack. The 4-speed was equipped with the HURST Pistol Grip Shifter. The Dana 60 3:54 Sure Grip differential with the factory (A33) Trak-Pak kit made this the quickest Mopar off the line. Faster than the HEMI. Equipped with extra-heavy duty suspension and brakes. The exhaust is the true dual N41 exhaust. Factory 15" W21 rims with the original raised white letter Polyglas GT tires in perfect condition make the muscle car more rare. Taking it over the top, the owner has included two (2) original Polyglas snow tires that were ordered when the car was delivered new. Purest will know how rare and valuable this is. The interior trim (D6XA) is equipped with charcoal buckets, headliner, a black dash pad and carpeting. Rallye instruments, 3-spoke woodgrain wheel, AM/FM Stereo with the optioned tach/console/8-Track. The Govier interior rating was a #1 (perfect). The light gunmetal metallic exterior is documented "Excellent/Original". The paint is complemented with the (V1X) black vinyl top and the V21 hood performance treatment (black paint on hood bulge with R/T designation). The body side black stripe begins at the hood and includes the upper body stripe to end the qtr. The Govier exterior rating was a #1 (perfect). The only bodywork identified was on the passenger front corner of the hood. Otherwise, the remainder of the Charger R/T is untouched. On Tuesday January 5, 1971, this Mopar was #15 of 34 in sequence as it rolled off the line at the Lynch Road, MI assembly plant and was sold through Woodstock Garage Chrysler-Plymouth (Woodstock, Virginia) for only $3,750. This was the introduction of the third generation Charger that had its wheelbase decreased 2" to 115 and came in six different Charger models. The Charger R/T hardtop was at the top. In 1971, sales of the Charger R/T declined in part to higher insurance costs, making it even more valuable. Mopar collectors know that his car has been trending up in value since September 2013 and finally has surpassed values that peaked in January 2008.
