Concours Quality 1964 Dodge 440. Only 680 miles since restoration! This original Arizona car received a full rotisserie conours quality restoration about 10 years ago. This car is an original totally rust free very low mileage survivor that sat unused in a garage in a Phoenix suburb for approximately 25 years. When I purchased the car, the odometer read about 32,000 miles, which I was told was accurate. Judging by the little amount of wear on the original components and overall original condition of the car, this appears to be true. However, after sitting unused for so long, the car was in need of restoration. During the nearly 2 year restoration process, every item on this car was restored to better than original condition, and NOS parts were utilized when available. Since then, this beautiful car has been meticulously maintained, shown, and driven sparingly. Since restoration, this car has never been winter driven or been in inclement weather, has never seen a hint of road salt, and has never even been in the rain. This Dodge has been housed, covered, in one of my heated garages, at my home. When appraised, the national professional appraiser commented that he believes that this car is certainly one of the finest (if not the finest…) Dodge 440’s in existence. This car is the mid-range Dodge 440 hardtop, which has very similar body styling to the top of the line Polara ‘B’ body for 1964. This styling is unique to the 1964 model year; the 330 and 440 Dodge models were last produced in 1964. The car is finished in the original Ivory color (SS1 code), and was bead blasted down to bare metal before being repainted with several coats of high-end Glasurit paint, finished with clearcoat. Look at the pictures, they speak for themselves. As a car collector, when looking at a car’s true condition, I look under the hood and at the undercarriage first, which truly shows how a car has been maintained. The engine compartment and undercarriage in this car are as completely detailed as is the rest of the car. As I stated, everything on this car is pristine and has been perfectly maintained in and out. The car hasn’t just sat unused, but has been driven only in good weather, locally. The car comes complete with its very strong running fully professionally rebuilt 383 cu. in. engine, 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor and air cleaner, with upgraded electric choke. I’ve attempted to keep this car as original as reasonably possible, but, in addition to the carb, have also added Mopar electronic ignition, Hedman coated headers, and an all aluminum custom dual exhaust with mild Dynomax mufflers, for that muscle car sound and feel. Also added are period-correct Cragar S/S chrome wheels fitted with BFGoodrich T/A radials. This car also has a ‘push button’ 727 Chrysler automatic transmission; 1964 was the last year for the Chrysler ‘push button’ transmissions, also fully rebuilt. All of the electronic components and wiring have been replaced with new, as has every component on this car. This car is as close to being a ‘new’ 1964 Dodge as is possible. Some of the notable items on this car include and the unique Chrysler ‘mid-century’ styling of the roof line, the ‘candy cane’ trim stripe on the sides with complimentary black paint insert color, the distinctive styling of the grill and dual headlights, along with the unusual positioning ofthe back up lights, which are adjacent the rear license plate, all unique to the 1964 model. As we are relocating into an urban area, and will not have appropriate storage space, I’ve made the difficult decision that the time has come to sell my car after over 15 years of ownership. The rotisserie restoration was completed by Custom Cars Unlimited in LaGrange, IL. (http://www.customcarsunlimited.com/) Believe me, you won’t regret this purchase. Please check out my eBay feedback. The car is presently valued and insured by Hagerty at $64,000. Including the original acquisition cost and restoration of this car, I have in excess of $90,000 invested. Payment: A $2,000 deposit is required through PayPal within 24 hours of purchase. The balance will be due within 7 days of the end of the auction and I will accept a personal check, but a cashier’s check is preferred. The car will not be released until all funds have fully cleared. Shipping: Sells to US and Canada. The car is located in Door County, Wisconsin, a vacation area known as the ‘Cape Cod of the Midwest’. I will assist you in shipping in any way I can. I have shipped other cars in the past, and due to the pristine condition of this car, I strongly encourage enclosed shipping. If you ship a vehicle non-enclosed, you’re taking a chance with potential damage. The car can continue to be garaged at my home at no cost for the next 30 days, if needed.
