The 1999 Dodge Viper RT-10 is hands down the most desired convertible for a couple of reasons. BODY STYLE1) The Generation I Vipers, all Phases, are considered to be the "ORIGINAL" Viper and have started to climb in value for this reason. Most enthusiast's say the 2003 SRT10's just weren't Viper's anymore. There were a number of improvements from 1992-2002 but in 2000, the car did go backwards and lost a crucial part of it's muscle. LAST YEAR FOR THE FORGED ENGINE2) The 1999 was the last year the car had a Forged Engine. This is why most enthusiast's consider the 1999 a much more desireable car than the 2000-02. Also, the 1999 has the most powerful Generation I Engine made producing 450hp. 1992-95 / 400hp 1996-97 / 415hp 1998-2002 / 450hpPOWER OPTIONS & A/C3) The 1999 has Power Windows, Power Side Mirrors and A/C that actually works (1994-95 a/c units were horrible and barely worked). Not to mention, the transmission tunnel down the center of the car plus, door sills could double as a stove top after driving for 30 minutes.ACTIVE AIRBAGS4) The 1999 has the revised Gen II Active Airbags which allows you to turn off the passenger airbag for children or small women. The first year for this option was 1998 and is crucial if you ever want to take a son or daughter in the car.INTERIOR5) This was the only model year that offered a optional Real Connolly Leather Interior, while still having the desired Forged Engine and Active Airbag System. Please look at my feedback, I am a very passionate car guy that is very transparent when selling. I purchased this car out of a local Viper collection and you read it right, only 1 owner! The gentleman is now in his 80's and simply doesn't drive the cars enough to justify keeping them. He had a Viper tech service all of the cars in his collection throughout the years and always kept them all on trickle chargers. If you are looking for a very well maintained, very tight, serviced & stored properly Viper, than this is your car. Everything works properly and the car needs nothing. The upgraded Cognac Connolly Leather is so much cooler while the tops off and adds a bit of an exotic feel to the beast. Tires are very good and were replaced a couple of years ago, roughly 6/32nds and matching OEM Michelin Pilot's. The car just received a 3 stage detail only using the best products and I touched up any very minor imperfections. The car is 100%. Please keep in mind, you can not purchase a 1 owner, 1999 RT-10 for the same money as a 1992-95 w/20-30k miles. Also, please keep in mind this is an exotic car. Just like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati mileage is crucial when pricing a car of this caliber. I'll give you this comparison, a 9k to 25k mile Viper is the equivalent of a 9k to 55k mile Dodge Charger SRT8. Keep in mind, these cars are currently appreciating and pricing is most affected by mileage. If you plan on keeping the car for a bit and then selling off, so your cost of ownership is minimal or possibly +, you do not want a car that has a 2x,xxx as the first number on the odometer. Once they turn 20k, it puts them in a much different price category. This is also why this particular car is ideal for someone that wants to both enjoy, and benefit from the current positive market swing these cars are finally having.Just look at how the Porsche market has corrected itself over the last 18 months, +300% on certain models! The Vipers are long overdue. In my professional opinion (16 years in specifically exotic & highline automotive buying/selling/retail store owning/operating/consulting) Viper's are hands down one of the best buys currently. Within the next 2 years single digit mile cars like this will be in the high $40k's to low $50k's, and cars with under 1k miles will be $75k-100k. The car comes with the following: 1) Painted Hard Top 2) Soft Top 3) Viper Car Cover 4) 2 Sets of Keys & Fobs 5) Books Feel free to call anytime - 330-634-5295
