Truck needs a new long block , I can deliver it within a 100 mile radius of Houston, if necessary. Sorry for the long story here but I am the 2nd owner and always traveled in it alone. Have a lot of history with the truck This has been one of the best work trucks I have ever owned until injector problems began. Always a Texas truck...This is not a wore out old truck with high miles, it has been well maintained along the way..I have used it to haul a 40ft goose neck around the country and have put 170,000 miles on it never being left on the side of the road. In fact it has never failed to crank up and go.It does have some bumps and bruises but it has not ever been wrecked, paint is good for its age, everything is intact, dash has a crack in it like they all do, and a silver dollars size hole in the dash too, I covered it up with a custom made dash cover that matches the interior.....has power windows,seats, locks,cloth interior, - dark grey Passenger side window does not roll down from the passenger side control, maybe a dirty switch and it will roll down from drivers side.. cruise control not working.... drivers side seat has about a 1 inch tear on the outer edge of the seat, it has always been there since I owned the truck.. Soon as i bought the truck I added airbags under the rear end, 100 gallon diamond plate aux. fuel tank in the bed that is gravity feed. Was able to travel around 2,000 miles with the tanks full ..turn the valve and it does the rest..along with a diamond plate tool box, which i have broken the lid (hinges) since then, and a headache rack.. shortly after that , had the upper half of the front end rebuilt with Moog life time parts. never had anymore front end issues, it drives straight and the steering is tight and responsive water pump replaced by dealer with a life time warranty on the pump. replaced power steering pump also. new injectors at 140,000 miles. bought them here on Ebay from a company out of the Florida panhandle. replaced fan clutch and it still works fine right now, Replaced AC compressor, blower motor,blower motor resistor, hoses, drier last fall and the AC still was not blowing cold. Replaced rear brakes with heave duty pads and brand new rotors also last fall, they may have 20,000 miles on them. Also bought 2 new batteries and a new OEM radiator. Tires right now are probably 45-50% I have always bought them in sets of 6 at a time. December 2014 is when all my troubles began, time for a new set of injectors, Took truck to dealership for miscellaneous work and new injectors, while it was there, the rear end was cleaned,inspected and serviced along with the transmission, new fluids, new filters and a new set of transmission lines, replaced thermostat and a new serpentine belt.. had a compression test done on the engine, each cylinder was good.. ordered a new set of injectors again here on ebay from the same company. dealer installed the injectors and during test drive the #3 cylinder fell dead.. Injector company from Florida over nited a new injector and the injectors were working but it was too late for the engine. .trailered the truck to Kaufman Tx and had a new engine installed, did not have to buy anything other than the long block and the cost of swapping them out. The cost of this was $5,500.00 out the door. Owner said he would not warranty the engine if it failed due to injectors but he also said the injectors were working fine at the time..I drove the truck home 250 miles and parked it in the driveway...ordered and installed a new set of injectors from Triplets injectors in Waco, TX paid $2400.00 for these injectors.. I believe these injectors are good right now... (although i would recommend having them bench tested, been a very expensive lesson for me) and also installed a new caterpillar duel canister fuel filter housing to make sure i never have more injector problems.. Truck sat in the driveway for probably a few months..As I had already bought a 2013 and was kinda liking it. drove it around a little in the summer but not too much because the AC still was not working. In September of this year, replaced AC evaporator core and because the dash had to come out, replaced the heater core too.. Now the AC is ice cold and the heater is hot. Drove the truck around town some more and by mid October i was ready to put the truck back on the road. in 6 weeks i put approximately 8,000 miles on the truck, last week, i began smelling fuel again and noticed the truck smoking.. Took truck to injector shop and they said I had more than one injector over fueling, so I had them pull the injectors and this past Monday I drove them to Waco because they told me they would repair them under warranty and I did not want to wait for them to be delivered by mail. Injector shop in Waco pointed out to me that the injectors had fine metal shaving on them, and they tested the injectors and told me they are all good. went a head and bought a new set of injector tubes while i was there.. had the injectors reinstalled and it seems to be smoking even more now than it did when i took it to the shop Also replaced throttle position sensor last week..and had an oil change..right before the other problems.. Engine builder near Dallas says the problem was caused by the set of injectors installed when the engine was built.. although i was told they were working fine at the time Like I said, I drove the truck 250 miles and swapped them out with injectors from an authorized Bosch injector shop.. Transmission shifts good, always thought i would have had to replace it buy now, but it has really been a good transmission.. 48RE These is just some of the maintenance that has been done since I owned the truck from top of my head, i have not been through all of the receipts..... Bought this truck certified pre owned in January. been a good strong truck. it is a 3500 HD with a 385hp Cummins and an Aisin 6spd automatic transmission. Serviced,clean, very nice truck inside and out.. few small rock chips on the front. 14,000 miles on new set of Cooper Discovery tires.Someone cut the lock and cable off the spare tire and stole it at a hotel out west..Truck is in great shape and ready to go to work.
