Serious buyer only! I am selling my 1979 Datsun 280ZX with only 91,000 miles at the time of this posting. Mechanically this car is in excellent condition. Engine runs and idles great and the automatic transmission shifts great. Fun car to drive!!! I am an older gentleman and bought it from an older gentleman who was a collector of autos and motorcycles. · The car has a brand new Rhode Island inspection sticker in May 2015. · Oil and filter has been changed along with a new air cleaner. · New battery and lead cables installed. New rear hatch struts installed. · I had my mechanic go through this car completely in May. · Four brand new raised white letter tires installed, high speed balanced and front end alignment done. New steering pitman arm also installed. Have all the paperwork to prove this!!! The gentleman I bought the car off told me that the car has been repainted by the former woman owner to the white color you see (from originally a brown color that she did not like). The paint was done correctly as the jams were painted also. There is light surface rust in some areas, looks like some older filler starting to raise in some areas and some minor dings and a slight indent and crack in the paint on the front quarter panel easily repairable etc, but overall a solid car and the paint still maintains its shine.Lifting up the hatchback carpet the car underneath is solid and looks like new!!!Drive it as is or if you want to enter it in car shows I would recommend having the light bodywork done and repainted. Please remember this is a 36 year old car with an older paint job. Recently I took it to a Nissan/Datsun event and the auto repair guys could not believe the condition of the car for how old it is. The interior of the car is in good condition as you can see from the pictures. Someone at some point installed a new carpet in the car and the seats are in good condition. The dash has two cracks (as usual for an older car) but they are not too bad. Headliner looks like it was replaced and is in excellent condition. The door panels look in good condition also. There are no warning lights on. From what I can tell all gauges work as they should except for the trip odometer and the clock which is usual for these cars. The power windows work, locks, wipers, lights, blinkers etc. work with the exception of the light in the head liner (might just be a bulb). Even the airline(map) light works. The passenger power mirror does not work but the driver’s power mirror does. The windshield fluid sprayer does not work (common) but there is power to this area because I can hear it when you press the control. The heat works, the a/c is not blowing cold and I believe needs a recharge. The radio and antenna has power but I can only get an AM signal and the antenna mast is not going up. Honestly I would replace the radio and antenna. To the winning bidder I will include a newer modern radio if you want that the previous owner had in the car. For authenticity reasons I had the original radio re-installed (unfortunately its missing a knob). Overall for the year, in my opinion the car is in good condition. Even my mechanic was surprised at the condition of the car!!! Please remember, the car is 36 years old. I have tried to accurately represent the condition of this car but it is impossible to attempt to describe every little blemish etc. You are welcome to inspect the car before bidding.
