CarolinaCorvettes - Simpsonville, South Carolina USA BMW Z3 - Only 88k Miles! This beautiful roadster was completely gone through last summer. I bought it from the insurance company with a salvage title after they totaled it due to extensive cosmetic damage. That being said, there was no suspension damage, no structural or frame damage, and no mechanical damage. It wasn't really in a collision, looked more like it was driven through some low hanging branches, denting most of the original body panels (all of which bolt on/off). I replaced every body panel with OEM original panels from another 2000 Z3, and had it completely repainted in this beautiful blue. The paint job alone would cost over $4000! Then the interior was replaced with one out of a 2000 ///M roadster that was not available in the standard Z3 - it's custom blue/black leather and really makes the car stand out (it's so much nicer than the standard interior. I've also added 18" M3 replica wheels from the newer M3, upgrading both the appearance and handling. All of this with a low 88k miles! This car is mechanically sound and was my daily driver until May 2015. Oil was changed ˜3/15 with Castrol Full synthetic, and a new Bosch battery added 12/14. Other than a recent AC service (full recharge) in 4/15, I haven't really had to do anything else mechanically to it in the year it was my daily driver. I've now moved onto a different BMW and am looking for a new home for this one. This car has many features that are not in other Z3's, such as the heated seats, the hands free bluetooth Parrot Mp3 Media center, ///M steering wheel, Blue top, etc - in addition to this very special interior (I suspect it may be the only one of this color in a standard Z3). The new paint shines exceptionally well and has few blemishes (one on the hood, one on front bumper), overall much nicer than the paint on the average 15 year old Z3. I took this car back to it's birthplace in Greer SC at the BMW Zentrum for these photos and received nothing but compliments from the factory workers there! They were all very impressed with the quality of this build. In fact, the build placed 3rd in a national rebuild contest when it was completed. This car may have a more colorful history than some of it's brothers, but it has come out of it's experiences in better shape than it was beforehand - and better condition than most of the other Z3's on the market. Full disclosure: The fact that I can list all defects with this car goes to show how good of condition the car is in. The hood has a spot on it where a roof shingle fell on it and left some scratches. The front bumper has a small spot on the lower portion from hitting road debris, and one of the fog lights has a crack in it. The passenger seat motors work, though the switch cover doesn't move them correctly, so they must be moved by hand if needed (though there's not really any reason to move the seat forward). The rest of the car is exceptional, no scratches or door dings. The car does have a SC Salvage title. In SC, it needs nothing else to be licensed and driven publically. Potential buyers in other states will need to check with their state laws for their areas. Car was titled and driven in SC until July 15, when I transferred the tag to my newer E90 335i BMW. Car is fully insured through GEICO insurance currently as well, I've never had any issues insuring salvage title vehicles.
