It was then sent to a special order dealer in the Boston, Massachusetts district where it was purchased by a 25 year old Gentleman . It spent a special pampered life for more than 50 years . During that time around the year 2000 it had a complete ground up " Nut and Bolt " restoration right down to the original color white pin C stripe on the the sides . The car has been completely brought back to its full original condition and executed to a #1 condition. It's absolutely "Stunning " ! We have a signed documented affidavit from the original owner stating that he purchased this car new and it retains its original 79000 miles. We are excited to offer such an exquisite Super Stang ! The K - Code Mustang is the most desirable and most valuable of the early Ponies and this one is a standout ! Everything on this coupe is correct and right as it was delivered new from the dealer including the sound damping undercoating that was an extra charge provided by the dealer . This car runs and drives like new and everything works with the exception of the clock which is easily repairable . It sports the Rally Pac gauges as well as the steel style wheels . ___________________________________________________________________________________ The HiPo engine was engineered to increase performance and high-RPM reliability over standard 289 fare. It had solid lifters with hotter cam timing; 10.5:1 compression; a dual point, centrifugal advance distributor; smaller combustion chamber heads with cast spring cups and screw-in studs; low restriction exhaust manifolds; and a bigger, manual choke 595 CFM carburetor (std 289-4V was 480 CFM). The water pump, fuel pump, and alternator/generator pulley were altered; fewer vanes, extra spring, and larger diameter respectively; to help handle the higher engine speeds. Even the HiPo’s fan was unique. Bottom end improvements included thicker main bearing caps and balancer, larger diameter rod bolts, and a hardness tested and counterweighted crankshaft, all for high-rpm reliability. The HiPo carried SAE gross ratings of 271 hp (202 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 312 lb·ft (423 N·m) at 3,400 rpm. The HiPo engine was used in modified form by Carroll Shelby for the 1965-1967 Shelby GT350, raising rated power to 306 hp (228 kW) at 6,000 rpm through use of special exhaust headers, an aluminum intake manifold, and a larger carburetor. The Shelby engine also had a larger oil pan with baffles to reduce oil starvation in hard cornering. Shelby also replaced the internal front press-in oil gallery plugs with a screw-in type plug to reduce chances of failure. From 1966 to 1968, Shelby offered an optional Paxton supercharger for the 289, raising its power (on Shelby GT350s) to around 390 hp (291 kW). The K-code HiPo engine was an expensive option and its popularity was greatly diminished after the 390 and 428 big-block engines became available in the Mustang and Fairlane lines, which offered similar power (at the expense of greater weight) for far less cost. ___________________________________________________________________________________============================================================================================= READY TO SHOW AND GO ! 1969 MACH 1 BIG BLOCK 390 4BBL=================================RARE S CODE MACH 1================================== MARTI REPORT ************************ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBERS This is a true survivor Acapulco Blue Big Block 390 Mach 1 which is buck tagged with a GT option package along with a deluxe white luxury interior . There is said to have been less than 1500 S code Mach 1 's built for 1969 making this Mach 1 a very rare collector find ! The history of this particular Mach 1 is as follows . It's original Connecticut owner drove the car for a little under 40,000 miles till around 1984 . At that time the car sat in storage for the next 20 years until the second owner bought it in 2004 and proceeded to repaint the car in it's original color and add new carpet in the interior along with a new headliner . Mechanical R& R was also preformed including new brakes and power steering repairs . In 2008 the car was sold to it's 3rd owner who continued to maintain the car with new suspension parts including rear springs and bushings , shocks, brake calipers , tune up as well as a new Holley four bbl carb and engine bay dress up . Less than 5000 miles have been driven by the past 2 owners . All receipts are included along with the original 4bbl carburetor . This Mach has never undergone a full restoration . It retains it's original rust free sheet metal . The paint is older and shows it's age with the patina that can be expected ( paint touch ups and a few dings as shown in photos below ) .The interior is in great condition and everything functions , even the Clock and Rim Blow steering wheel ! The drive train is solid . The motor starts cold with a pump of the gas pedal and warms to a smooth but aggressive idle . The car drives at 60 mph with ease and the C6 transmission shifts smooth and solid with an easy second gear tire chirp ! The brakes are in great condition and will stop you with confidence . All the suspension and front end joints are up to date and perform very well . Here is a piece of Mustang History that is amongst the most sort after Models that exist today . This is for sure a time capsule item and is one very attractive and desirable color combinations . White interiors are rare to find ! This as stated wears a buck tag that states it is Mach with a GT package and is confirmed by Marti in the engine code as 390 4bbl GT . *The car is missing the driver side rocker molding and has been ordered and will be put on before the car gets sold . * Again , I express this is an unrestored original survivor and is in great condition for a 47 year old car. It can be driven daily or for leisure . To have a perfect Restored Car you will have a genuine Rare Mach 1 to make a perfect Show Car with this one ! The console is original and the 4 speed Hurst shifter is period correct . This 65 retains it's original steering wheel as well ! All the glass on this Fastback is original and is in good condition although there is a few scratches on rear window and a scuff line on the passenger door window from rubbing the door .
