Alabama law does not require titles for vehicles 35+ years old therefore it does not have a title and will only come with a bill of sale. *** 1972 Mercedes Benz 450SL Roadster. Rare 1971 production date of 9/71. First year of this R107 body style. Black w/tan leather interior. Comes with the matching removable hardtop. Has what appears to be the original 4.5L V8 with automatic transmission. Has the desireable European small bumpers. Comes with the original spare tire. This car will need a minor restoration. It will need a repaint and some interior work. The body is straight with no visible rust but the floors and trunk will need some patches. The engine turns over but will need work to run. The passenger outside door handle is broken. Also some of the valance pieces below the bumpers are missing and will need to be replaced. These two-seater SL Mercedes are moving up in value. Selling a 1970 FJ40. 47,000 original miles with original motor. I am the second owner and purchased this rare spring green beauty in Arizona where it spent it's life in the dry heat. Having said that, its a very dry vehicle with minimal cancer, exception is the typical back drip plate under the rear door being the major spot. Runs Great. Here is what has been changed. Power steering added by original owner, front seats reupholstered, steering column shift "three on a tree" relocated to the floor. New tires and hub caps, rubber floor mats added, new dash pad, new belts and fresh fluids and filters (oil and gas). I have a new roof liner still in the box, fiberglass top weatherstrip ($340) still in box, new OEM bumperetts, a variety of new weatherstripping still in box. All doors have new weather stripping. New rear window and stripping installed. Valve cover, fuel tank, air filter pot, drip plate, fan blade and shroud, horn button, and a variety of other engine components have been sanded, primed and painted. New carb kit installed, new fuel manual three-way valve installed to switch to aux tank. Original owner removed heater boxes that I have. Front heater zinc coated and ready to be installed, rear looks new and ready to be reinstalled. Original Warn Winch and steel front bumper. Have the original tool bag and tools (might be missing a couple of original tools, original jack, cali 1970 black plate. I removed the aux fuel tank with the intent to restoring but have it, it has been pressure tested with no leaks and sanded, needs to been painted and reinstalled. Original owner kept every part to every come off and I have in boxes, mirrors, hood spear, high beam foot switch etc etc. Original manual. All with go with the car, not breaking out parts, tool bag etc. Cosmetically, the body has a few dings and scratches but nothing major shown in pics. Roof gutter could use some attention in a couple of areas but is solid and no leaks.This is a prime vehicle for an all original restoration or drive as is. Has low range gears. I have never taken it off road. Hate to sell it but my kid needs a reliable vehicle and I must sell. Please don't blow me up about what the reserve is set at. Alabama law does not require titles for vehicles 35+ years old therefore it does not have a title and will only come with a bill of sale. *** *** There is a slideshow with more detailed pics at the bottom of the auction. *** 1973 Mustang Fastback. Previously turned into a Mach 1 clone. Originally Bright Green Gold Metallic with Avacado vinyl interior. Original 351 2V Cleveland V8 and FMX automatic transmission. Engine turns free with a wrench. Rare beautiful color with a semi-rare engine and transmission. The body on the car is laser straight. However, it seems like the drivers side was run up on something at the very front. This twisted the radiator support ONLY and tore it from the frame so it will have to be replaced (see the pics). There is no issue with the frame that I could see. The hood will have to be replaced. The fenders look useable and the trunk lid, rockers, and rear quarters look pretty good. There was a repair done on the drivers side rear outer wheelhouse that will have to be repaired (see the pics). Also, the passenger side door is off a another Mach 1. It looks ok from the outside but there is rust in the underneath of the door that will have to be repaired or find another door. I did not see any rust in the cowl, frame sections, or around the windows. All of the glass is good except for the windshield. Missing front windshield trim. The entire floor will have to be replaced back to under the rear seat. It will also need a trunk pan. The frame supports might can be saved. I didn't see any holes from the top. The interior was missing but I have included some front and rear seats out of other fastbacks. The gauge bezel and drivers side rear door panel is also included. The fold down rear seat frame is still missing though. I have included pics of another 1973 Mach 1 in Bright Green Gold Metallic with Avacado vinyl seats to show what this car could be when restored.
