He has the mind of an engineer and heart of a true blue classic car lover. In the years that he has owned the car, he did a very long list (see list in pictures) of repairs and upgrades to make this one of the most trusted road worthy early 60's classic cars seen on the road today! It has all the right equipment that most of us hope to find in a classic car but usually can not. These features include factory Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, power windows and power seats. The Imperials were the flagship of the Chrysler brand in '61 so it had all the latest and greatest technology that was offered at the time. The car is in remarkable condition as it was restored about 10 years ago by the family who had owned the car since new. It was already in very nice condition when the current owner received it and then completely gone through once again. Words from the owner of the car: Purchased in Sioux City Iowa. When they looked at it and saw the lights, chrome, the fins, the color, the interior condition and the original condition, we bought the car with one thing in mind...to take this old beauty on a road trip through the USA. We started our tour in Florida and drove through Mississippi and collected a first place trophy at a car show there then up to Route 66, crossed the Rocky Mountains through Yosemite pass at 10,000 feet and then on to Sacramento, CA and back to sea level along the Pacific Coast Highway. We started east from Oregon along Route 2 and then near the Canadian Border, through Montana, Wyoming, Mount Rushmore and continued to float all the way back to Florida...8,800+ plus miles. The car is serviced and ready for the next long haul! We really enjoyed our time with this couple. When they came into buy a low mileage classic Caddy Eldorado convertible they drove here in this classic imperial. While they were out test driving the Caddy we all of us who work here swarmed the parking lot where the car was parked. We have never seen a early 60's imperial and were blown away by the design and all the intricate details the car has. What a beauty! He has the mind of an engineer and heart of a true blue classic car lover. In the years that he has owned the car, he did a very long list (see list in pictures) of repairs and upgrades to make this one of the most trusted road worthy early 60's classic cars seen on the road today! It has all the right equipment that most of us hope to find in a classic car but usually can not. These features include factory Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, power windows and power seats. The Imperials were the flagship of the Chrysler brand in '61 so it had all the latest and greatest technology that was offered at the time. The car is in remarkable condition as it was restored about 10 years ago by the family who had owned the car since new. It was already in very nice condition when the current owner received it and then completely gone through once again. Words from the owner of the car: Purchased in Sioux City Iowa. When they looked at it and saw the lights, chrome, the fins, the color, the interior condition and the original condition, we bought the car with one thing in mind...to take this old beauty on a road trip through the USA. We started our tour in Florida and drove through Mississippi and collected a first place trophy at a car show there then up to Route 66, crossed the Rocky Mountains through Yosemite pass at 10,000 feet and then on to Sacramento, CA and back to sea level along the Pacific Coast Highway. This Imperial is mostly original in nature and has had just one re-paint. The chrome and stainless are in great condition as you can see in the photos. There are a couple dings in the stainless roof which I tried to photograph. I have not tried to have a dent guy try to remove these which may be possible. The car has its fair share of chips which I think I have done a good job highlighting, please take a look at all of the 100 photos I have posted up. This car runs and drives very well. The 413 is strong and the push button transmission shifts well. The power steering works effortlessly. The cruise control (auto pilot) is still functional as well as the clock, which generally don't work. The interior appears to be original, and it's in nice shape. The tires are good as well as the brakes. The spare tire appears to be the original and is in nice condition. The jack assembly is still in tact and present. This is a 4-door hardtop (no pillar between windows) This car is fully loaded with factory options including: power windows, power locks, power steering, power brakes, power seat, auto pilot (cruise), wonderbar radio, power antenna, rear window defrost, and aftermarket air conditioning. In addition to these options the car has the rare and desirable stainless steel roof accents. This car runs and drives exceptional. This Imperial is mostly original in nature and has had just one re-paint. The chrome and stainless are in great condition as you can see in the photos. The 413 is strong and the push button transmission shifts well. The power steering works effortlessly. The cruise control (auto pilot) is still functional as well as the clock, which generally don't work. The interior appears to be original, and it's in nice shape. The tires are good as well as the brakes. The spare tire appears to be the original and is in nice condition. The jack assembly is still in tact and present.
