Crossfires are uncommon and beautifully styled cars. Originally introduced a fastback coupe, in recognition that a sports car without a retracting top is like a sundae without the cherry, whip cream or even the ice cream, a roadster was soon offered. Next followed a complete personality transformation brought about by a supercharger being attached to the smooth hand-built Mercedes AMG 320 engine transforming the pleasant 215 hp roadster into a conservatively rated 330 hp beast. The SRT6 was a loss leader halo car produced about 12 months with a premium of over $10,000 for a selling price of around $50,000. (Example of window sticker for similarly equipped SRT 6 provided in photos.) There were believed to be less than a thousand Crossfires in the roadster configuration with the supercharged engine and fewer still in the most sought after (and fastest of all) color combinations: black on black on black. This particular Crossfire has been further enhanced with a few reversible cosmetic enhancements and significant performance upgrades bringing the power to an estimated 400 hp (estimated by feel and logic only and by no way documented).
