1934 Chrysler Airflow CUInline 8 CylinderEarly 1934 39 front vertical grille bars Serial # 6593637CU 1616 FOSmileage 59,504 Nice 1934 Chrysler Airflow survivor from Alaska, with a spectacular documented history. A young 20 year old trapper & fisherman living in remote a Alaska village in 1934, his new Chrysler Airflow from Oregon, a love story in Washington then back up north to Alaska with his Airflow, boating it to the Bristol Bay native village, details of fun with his Airflow in the Alaska frontier, and details of the Airlfows life until the original owners death in 1995 (birth 1915). I have the this written history from the descendants of the original owner, here is a condensed version...... In 1935, a young man from Alaska, at 20 years old, bought the Airflow brand new (it had sat new on the car lot until he bought it in 1935 per the written history). This young man had saved his money for the Airflow from trapping and fishing in the Bristol Bay area of Alaska out of the remote village of Dillingham. He drove the car to Portland, Oregon to see his mother in the hospital and fell in love with her nurse, soon to be his wife. After that winter break up he shipped the Airflow to Dillingham, Alaska. in 1936. The Airflow was even was even used in as a taxi cab on the 5 miles of dirt road in the village of Alaska (so cool - i have been trying to find pictures in Alaska digital archives of maybe the airflow in Dillingham during this time) The written goes on to talk about bringing his new love to Dillingham, Alaska also, some fun things he did with the car, lots of other cool stories. (I just love this stuff) It sat in storage for years, protected, grandson inherited it from original owner in a will. I will provide all of this documentation to the new owner :) I will provide a verbal history of everything i know about this car, nice documented history from its birth. All parts seem to be there except for the front bumper and a rear spring seat bottom. See the pics for all the parts. I have a lot of other pics as well that i can send you. Little story - All the parts that you see taken out in the pics- this was done a couple years back, very recently, done professionally/gently - taken out in preparation for restoration years back, they can all go right back in. I have taken all of the parts - put little ones in boxes for transport in the car, and big items (padded them inside car), all is ready to go. These items will go with private transport carrier, packed in the Airflow - safe and secure. I really believe she will run with some points and minor tinkering - it was lubed its life , its free/turns by hand and i think this engine will run. But, I am gonna leave that fun to her new owner. The body is really is great shape - there is a thin spot on the top back left side with a hole, some whatever little bangs on her, but just look at that fabulous old black patina, is that original paint ? All the air vents on the side turn freely up and down, chrome intact, i put door handles and window handles back on where they belong in the car one day and everything opens/closes - doors shut tight and will seal. All the window hardware is there, all the inside trim is there, even the seat handles are there. Everything on the car right now I believe is how it rolled out of the factory, I think this is original miles. I don't think this car has been wrecked - its got some bumper bangs, and etc - but looks good and straight from front to back. It got the 39 count vertical front grille bars and original hood ornament. Every original rim is there, every original hubcap (all in good shape) - and look at those old knobby tires from where it would have ran around Dillllingham, Alaska dirt roads - those tires are old, knobby, and worn - those tires have been some places, they look great on it. Yep, Free Shipping. I will be paying for transport. I have made arrangements already to have your car delivered from my door step to your door step with a private enclosed antique car carrier that is back hauling out of Alaska end of August to anywhere in the lower 48. This is an enclosed custom trailer for hauling special antique cars that is coming to Fairbanks, Alaska (where i live) and they will pick it up and delivery it right to your front door. Nice ! They are insured, this is their business. Usually takes a couple weeks to drive from Alaska, thru Canada, and on to lower 48. Of course - any Alaska folks - I will get her to you :) Payment with personal check, bank transfer, cashiers check, or cash. $500 faith deposit with paypal with 24 hours of auction. Somebody should preserve this Airflow, she has such cool history. Call/text 907 590/0732 anytime with questions/purchase...... thanks, barbie 12K BIN. Free transport
