I PICKED UP THIS RAT ROD FROM A GUY IN CENTRAL FLORIDA WHO HAS BEEN BUILDING CARS FOR MANY YEARS, HE HAD TOO MANY PROJECTS AND I WAS ABLE TO WRESTLE THIS ONE AWAY FROM HIM, BEFORE HE GOT AROUND TO COMPLETING ALL THE DETAILS ON IT. IT IS A COOL RUNNING TRUCK, ENGINE WAS PAINTED AND DETAILED, TOP OF MOTOR ALL REDONE, VALVES DONE, ETC. CARBS WERE REBUILT AND ADJUSTED AND DUAL OFFENHAUSER MANIFOLD ADDED WITH CHROME AIR CLEANERS. HAS REDONE GENERATOR AND NEW 8 VOLT BATTERY, VERY COOL. NEW ALUMINUM RADIATOR, NEW HOSES, BELT, ETC. ALL FLUIDS CHANGED. TRUCK RUNS AND DRIVES AND MOTOR SOUNDS GREAT, IVE DRIVEN IT FOR SHORT DRIVES WITH NO ISSUES, I HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT ACROSS THE STATE SO CANT DESCRIBE WHAT THAT'S LIKE. DOOR WEATHERSTRIPPING IS BAD AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT IF YOU WANT THAT TO BE PERFECT. I'D LEAVE AS IS. CLUTCH IS WORKING WELL AND SO ARE THE BRAKES, AND TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING WELL AND GOING INTO ALL GEARS, IT IS THREE SPEEDS ON THE COLUMN. BODY HAS VERY COOL PATINA AND SURFACE RUST AND ONE COAT OF CLEAR. YOU CAN ADD THREE MORE COATS IF YOU WANT, IT JUST HAS ONE COAT NOW TO PRESERVE THE PATINA. IT HAS NEW HOOD EMBLEMS, BED WOOD, AND BED STAKES. HAS CHEVY PAINTED RIMS IN ROD GREEN AND NEW FIBERGLASS WHITEWALL TIRES ALL AROUND , A COUPLE OF THE TIRES STILL HAVE THE NEW RUBBER TRIM STILL ON THEM. FIREWALL WAS PAINTED WHIT WITH COOL STICKERS INSTALLED. STEP PLATES WERE PAINTED IN GOLD ARE EXCELLENT, AND SIDE SPLASH APRONS ARE PAINTED WITH GOLD LEAF AND GREEN ACCENT. ROOF IS CUSTOM PAINTED WITH GOLD FLAKE AND A ORIGINAL PATTERN TAKEN FROM A 60'S TABLECLOTH THAT GAVE ITS LIFE FOR THIS ROOF PATTERN. SO ITS A 100 PERCENT ORIGINAL TRUCK.TRUCK HAS A LOT OF COOL STICKERS, AND TRIM AND DECALS, AND ORIGINAL TOUCHES. ITS NOT COOKIE CUTTER WHICH MAKES IT NICE. ITS A RAT ROD OR OLD HOT ROD NOT A TRAILER QUEEN. INTERIOR IS COOL, MISSING REAR VIEW MIRROR, AND HEADLINER. ( I DID PURCHASE NEW BLACK HEADLINER BOARD KIT, AND I WILL INCLUDE IN THE SALE. ) THE GLASS IS ALL DRIVER GRADE, ONE VENT DOOR WINDOW IS CRACKED BUT LOOKS GREAT SO I LEFT IT. ( I DID BUY NEW ONE AND WILL COME WITH TRUCK IF YOU WANT TO REPLACE IT) WINDSHIELD HAS A COUPLE OF AIR BUBBLES FROM NICKS OR SOMETHING BUT TO ME IT LOOKS COOL I WOULD NOT CHANGE IT, ITS NOT CRACKED. DOES HAVE SOME DELAMINATION AS DOES MOST OF THE GLASS IN CERTAIN SPOTS. AGAIN IT LOOKS COOL. ONE REAR CAB CORNER HAS A COUPLE HOLES, AND THE DRIVER SIDE CAB CORNER IS BAD. I LEFT IT, BUT I DID PURCHASE A NEW STEEL REPLACEMENT CAB CORNER AND IT WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE SALE. HAS WIPER MOTOR AND WIPERS, FRANKLY I HAVE NOT TESTED IT I ASSUME IT'S NOT WORKING AS IT SHOULD AND BUYER SHOULD PUT IT IN WORKING ORDER. FRONT SHOCKS WERE REPLACED AND NEW ONES INSTALLED. REAR SHOCKS I DON'T KNOW THE AGE OF. HAS REAR TAIL LIGHTS CUSTOM FITTED FROM A MERC INTO THE REAR FENDERS. REALLY NICE CUSTOM TOUCH. HAS NEW INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES AND CUSTOM DOOR PANELS. WINDOWS DO GO UP AND DOWN. GAUGES ARE OLD AND FRUMPY AND ORIGINAL. HAS A AFTERMARKET OIL PRESSURE GAUGE, BUT NOT DRILLED INTO DASH. DASH IS INTACT WITH NO SILLY RADIO CUTOUTS ETC. CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE RADIO AND SPEAKERS. HAS FACTORY RARE RADIO DELETE PLATE. ITS NICE TO SEE A DASH NOT CUT UP. INTERIOR OF CAB IS PAINTED AS IS DASH, AND STEERING WHEEL. NOT MEANT TO BE SHOW PAINT BUT LOOKS NICE. HAS BRAND NEW GAS TANK AND HOSES. BENCH SEAT FRAME WAS PAINTED AND SOLID, BENCH SEAT IS EHITE AND IT LOOKS LIKE A CUSTOM UPHOLSTERY JOB YEARS AGO, BUT I WOULD SAY SEAT IS DYED IN WHITE. AGAIN COOL ROD AND DRIVER GRADE, NOT PERFECT. FRAME HAS NO RUST EXCEPT SURFACE, ITS EXCELLENT. THE ONLY RUST I CAN FIND IS WHAT I DESCRIBED IN CAB CORNERS, AND THERE IS ONE HOLE AGAINST THE DRIVER FENDER CORNER THAT YOU CAN SEE FROM INSIDE THE FRONT WHEEL WELL. AND THE DRIVER DOOR SIDE BOTTOM COLUMN HAS A CUTOUT OF RUST MAYBE THREE INCHES LONG BUT IT IS NOT AFFECTING ANYTHING STRUCTURALLY AND NOT AFFECTING DOOR CLOSING OR HINGE WORKING. CAN PROB BE EASILY FIXED WITH A PATCH OR FIBERGLASS BUT I DID NOT WANT TO COVER UP THIS TRUCK IS NICE, ITS NOT PERFECT. PEOPLE ON EBAY ARE SELLING 3100 1955 TRUCKS FOR 10K THAT HAVE FROZEN MOTORS AND RUSTED BODIES. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT STARTER TRUCK AND WITH 2500 DOLLARS I THINK IT COULD BE A 20K TRUCK YOU COULD HANG WITH AT SHOWS AND BE RESPECTABLE. HAS A TONLOAD OF HOURS INTO ALREADY THAT WOULD EITHER COST YOU MONEY AND WORSE TIME TO GET TO THIS STAGE. PLEASE EXPECT TO MAKE MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS AND BODY WORK AND HAVE TO BUY ITEMS TO MAKE THIS TRUCK WHAT IT NEEDS TO BE .
