BUILD SHEET – WORLD PRODUCTS Motown 454 SHORT BLOCK:Block: World Motown cast ironCrankshaft: Eagle 4340 forged crankshaftBore is 4.25" and stroke is 4.00". Siamese cylinder bores allow for this unique bore sizing. The World Product single plane intake is already machined for Port Fuel Injection, I have those holes plugged with clear epoxy since I am using the FAST throttle body. This intake also has rear to front coolant lines that keep engine temperatures below 200 degrees in the Florida summer in a traffic jam. I also have a Be Cool aluminum radiator with a SFI spec 7-blade fan. No heating issues.Main Caps: 4-bolt (ARP main sprayed studs)Bearings: Clevite H-bearingsConnecting Rods: Forged Eagle H-beam 4340 L-19 boltsPistons: Forged Mahle coatedPiston Rings: Total SealBalancing: Digital (internally balanced) Fluidampr external harmonic balance for internally balanced engines.Freeze Plugs: BrassFinish: Painted red, Milodon 6 quart oil pan with scraper, and windage tray, configured to handle up to a 4.125" stroke. One piece oil pan gasket with ARP oil pan studs.454 Sport Low Compression: 10.14:1 (20cc dish, 0.025” below deck, 64cc chambers and .0.051” gasket)Heads are 215 Canfields with 1.6:1 ratio hydraulic rollers. ARP head studs and intake studs are used to keep things tight. The camshaft is a hydraulic roller from Crane Cam part #119831, grind number: HR-284-2S-12-IG. I used Crane springs #99838 along with Crane link-bar hydraulic rollers. I also used Crane titanium spring retainers. This is a fairly mild cam and gives a very broad torque curve - above 400 starting below 2000 rpm. I am also running a Moroso oil/air separator in line with the PCV system to keep those plugs nice and clean.ARP hardware is used throughout the entire vehicle whenever the application allowed. I have ARP studs to connect engine to transmission so match up is simple and very secure.Headers are Hooker Competition ceramic coated full length that have 1 7/8" primaries and a 3 1/2" collector. Exhaust system is a 3" Magnaflow true dual exhaust with an X pipe. They exit in stock location behind the rear wheels. Transmission is from Bow Tie Overdrives and is built to handle 600 hp and 600 lb ft with a 2200 rpm lockup torque converter. Vehicle weight without me inside is 2640 pounds. Weight reductions include fiberglass front and rear bumpers and the Fatmans front sub frame which weighs almost 200 pounds less than the factory original. The 454 World SBC engine and 700R4 transmission weigh the same as a factory small block with a automatic Turbo 350. The rack and pinion steering with coilovers gives this Nova the steering of a much newer car.Brakes are power boosted disc in the front (SSBC) and drums in the rear. It has a good amount of whoa but if you plan on heavy braking this is an area of opportunity.I installed a Detroit Speed and Engineering mini-tub in the rear replacing both inner and outer wheel wells. The Nova sits on 255/70 X 15" in the rear and can be enlarged up to 295/XX. The Weld wheels all have 4 1/2" offset, to get a bigger tire in the rear you need more offset. Another area if you want to upgrade wheels and tires. Front space is taken up by 225/60 X 15" and there is plenty of room to grow.I will include all the stainless steel braided hoses and fittings that will allow you to hook up a remote twin oil filter and run the oil through the oil cooler. There is an oil/transmission cooler where currently the transmission side is only hooked up, with stainless steel braided lines. The oil side is not, and the fan that comes with the cooker is also not installed. I use to run the other small block with these attached but this meant no hood latch, just hood pins. The current configuration has a tradition hood latch, hard closed and safety lock. I will also include #12 and #10 AN stainless hose for taking the gas system to the next level. The current configuration has the FAST optional fuel system installed in addition to the FAST Easy EFI. Comes with the handheld programmer and a spare FAST fuel pump.please visit 1968chevynova.com for additional information and pictures. Thank You
