What you don't remember is any that were this nice, and someone has spent a ton of time and money on this handsome truck to make it one of the very nicest 4x4s we've ever seen. Recently repainted in its original two-tone gray and silver combination, it's a lot more contemporary-looking than many of its siblings. Finish quality is very impressive, far better than a truck at this price usually receives, and they even added correct blue tape stripes to separate the two colors, a nice touch. It doesn't look like this truck ever worked for a living, and most short bed/regular cab models were purchased as drivers, which is surely how this one spent most of its life. The chrome and stainless trim is in great shape with the Silverado trim adding the stainless insert on the tailgate, dual chrome mirrors, and shiny stainless steel belt moldings, all of which make this truck look great. The bed itself is in fantastic condition, again offering more evidence that it never had to haul gravel for a living and it's still up for a haul or two on weekends. After all, a pickup truck is about the most useful tool you can own, even if it's one that's this much fun to drive. The interior is a combination of original pieces and replacement parts, all of which have an all-of-a-piece look that works quite well. We're guessing that the carpets and dash pad are recent replacements, while the bench seat was surely reupholstered at some point as well. The materials and patterns are very authentic-looking, so the work doesn't stand out and it presents simply as a very well-maintained original. The Silverado got all kinds of options, including factory A/C, cruise control, and a tilt steering column and there's a newer JVC AM/FM/CD stereo in the dash powering modern speakers in the doors. The lever on the floor controls the 2-speed transfer case, so it's easy to switch between two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive on the fly, a feature that's so useful you'll wonder how you got by without it. The A/C is fully functional thanks to an R134a refrigerant upgrade and once you settle in behind the wheel, you'll feel right at home after all these years. The engine is the original 350 cubic inch V8 topped by throttle-body fuel injection, so it's reliable and easy to maintain. There's plenty of evidence under the hood that this truck has been properly cared for over the years, with the lone upgrade being a K&N filter in the original round filter housing. It's not all dressed up and shiny, but you'll appreciate the rugged utility of the strong, torquey small block every time you drop it into gear. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive, so even though it's a giant pickup on huge tires, fuel economy is at least tolerable and it cruises pretty easily at highway speeds. The exhaust has been tweaked a bit with a high-flow catalytic converter and a Flowmaster muffler with twin turn-downs just ahead of the rear axle. You'll also note that this is a dual-tank truck, offering bladder-bursting cruising range and a modest lift kit allows the use of those giant Falken off-road radials. This is a truck that could still be driven every day and not feel like you're giving up any modern comfort and convenience. If you like the look, you're going to love how it drives. It's no joke, this is quite literally the finest '70s Chevy pickup we've ever seen, and perhaps one of the best anywhere in the world. With more than $170,000 worth of receipts attached to the build, a 607 horsepower supercharged engine, and show-quality work throughout, it's every bit as stunning as you'd expect. And at this price, it's actually a screaming bargain. This was a dream truck that got a no-expense-spared build by one of the top west-coast shops and with just 1200 miles on it, it's still extremely fresh. Almost every component on the truck was either massaged or built from scratch, but the workmanship is so well-integrated that you'd need a stock truck to see all the mods. The paint and bodywork are obviously show quality, a vivid electric green that demands attention wherever the truck goes. The finish is two-stage Glasurit, so it's deep enough to swim in and beautifully polished to give it a high gloss. A single black stripe highlights the simple lines of arguably the best-looking truck in a generation and all the factory trim was left intact. The front bumper is a custom unit that hides the Warn winch behind the license plate, while out back there's a hidden hitch. There are also compressed air and 110V hook-ups stashed in there to make this truck an awesome companion in the most remote areas you can find. Oh, yeah, did we mention that's a 7000 pound stealth dump bed finished with a spray-in bedliner and full-sized spare? Yeah, it's pretty cool. At a glance, the interior looks pretty stock, but that's all part of the illusion. Everything is, of course, brand new, including the seat cover, carpets, door panels, and headliner, all installed on top of a ton of sound-deadening materials to keep it nice and quiet inside. Factory gauges are fully restored for a stock look, but the entertainment system is a custom AM/FM/CD/iPod/satellite system with a touch screen and back-up camera, all feeding a set of custom subwoofers hidden out of sight. A/C was installed to keep things comfortable and you'll note that the shift quadrant now offers an overdrive position, but we'll get to the hardware in a moment. Levers on the floor control the transfer case and locking differentials, and there's simply nothing inside this truck that isn't brand new. The engine is a 607 horsepower 383 cubic inch V8 topped by a blower, so getting all this sheetmetal moving is never a problem. It starts easily and idles like a stocker, and even the exhaust is quiet so most folks won't even realize something special lives under the hood. The firewall has been smoothed and painted to match the body and wherever possible, the plumbing and wiring was hidden out of sight. A serpentine belt drive system keeps it looking stock and there's a disc brake at each corner to keep it under control. A brand new heavy-duty 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission feeds an Atlas 4 transfer case, Tom Woods driveshafts, and 4.11 gears in both axles with TruTrack limited slip differentials. There's a Superlift 2.5-inch suspension upgrade to give it plenty of clearance for those giant tires, which measure 33x12.50R15 and spin on Mickey Thompson wheels, including the spare. This truck is beyond impressive. There's so much more here that we can't possibly hope to cover it all and it really needs to be seen to be believed. Yes, it really is as exceptional as you'd expect at this price, so call now! 1976 Chevrolet K-10 for Sale 1976 Chevrolet K-10 for Sale Stock # 1564-DFW Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. Basic and rugged, sure, but also handsome in a leathery, hardened kind of way that is all business. Dressing them up with beautiful paint and a big block V8 sure helps, and in the case of this short bed/regular cab 1978 K10 Silverado 4x4, it shows that there's just no way to build an unattractive one. They ALWAYS look good. At first glance, this might just look like another nicely done Chevy K-series pickup. But get a little closer and you'll discover that the medium blue finish is quite nicely done with a deep shine that looks great on this vintage pickup. And if you're going to look that closely, you need to nail down the bodywork, so this one is arrow-straight and doesn't look like it's ever had to work for a living. A custom tubular grille, chrome bumpers, and big stainless mirrors all give it a flashy look without diluting its heavy-duty attitude. A gray interior works well with the medium blue paint, and the handsome cloth bench seat is a throwback to the era when this truck was brand new. The upholstery looks brand new and pretty accurately replicates when you might have received when you ordered a new upscale Silverado back in the '70s. The instrument panel is covered with a cool brushed metal applique that really brightens up the interior and surrounds the factory gauges. Matching door panels include more bright stainless trim and handy map pockets, and plush gray carpet is a nice upgrade over the rubber mat that was probably there when it was new. The most notable upgrade is an AM/FM radio that powers a quartet of speakers in the trick Highliner overhead headliner and yes, they all work! There's also a sliding rear window to keep it comfortable even on hot days and a removable dash pad to protect the dash. The original invoice and build sheet say this truck was originally powered by a 400 cubic inch V8, but not too long ago, someone decided to drop in a thumping 454 cubic inch crate motor. Topped by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, it's a torquey, eager partner whether you're on-road or off. A few chrome dress-up items give it a flashy look that helps it live up to the promises made by the bodywork, and it runs superbly, as you'd expect. There's a giant radiator up front to keep the big block from getting cranky and long-tube headers feed a pair of performance mufflers that give it a burly soundtrack to match its look. The chassis is pretty original and offers new Rancho shocks on the stock suspension. A TH350 3-speed automatic feeds the original transfer case and axles, and since this truck originally came with the trailer package, there are 3.73 gears in the axles. Flashy MB Motorsports aluminum wheels look great and help offset the weight of the giant 31x10.50x15 Hankook Dynapro radials. So for you fans of big, burly '70s pickups, this one offers great looks, big block V8 power, and a dash of practicality, too. If you decide to purchase from us, we require that you give us your complete name, address and phone numbers (home, office, mobile and fax) and a port of entry that handles containers. We do not ship vehicles open (RORO: Roll On Roll Off) due to risk of damage to vehicle and theft of parts. All international purchases must be paid by bank wire transfer in US Dollar funds only.
