Despite this being the most stylish grocery-getter on the planet, my wife has decided she wants a BMW instead. She's fickle like that. Forget the fact that we can pile all the kids and our bags into its incredibly spacious cabin and cruise in complete comfort, while enjoying it's 32mpg highway mileage rating. Forget the fact that it's loaded with super convenient features like wireless Bluetooth phone pairing; steering wheel controls for radio, phone, and cruise control; backup camera; Onstar navigation and safety (did you know you can start, unlock, and blare the horn from the Onstar app on your phone?!). Forget the sweet-sounding 6 speaker sound system with available XM-satellite radio. No, she wants a BMW 3-series that's half the size, double the cost, and more expensive to maintain! Oh well, you know what they say...happy wife, happy life! So this beautiful Mocha Metallic Equinox LT has to go. I know, you're excited. You're thinking you just hit the jackpot. It must be too good to be true. I couldn't be this lucky. Well, there are a couple things you should be aware of. For the 2011 model year, the Equinox 4 cylinder motor had some issues. It had a weird issue with the camshaft actuators that caused a rough idle and the car would even stall under light acceleration. That was fixed under recall. We also had a freak issue where the timing chain guard came loose and hit the chain. This required the top half of the motor to be rebuilt. Then Chevy realized the piston rings in the motor were wearing excessively and causing the motor to burn oil. That required the bottom half of the motor to be rebuilt. Now this might sound a little scary, but here's the silver lining - this Equinox basically has a BRAND NEW MOTOR! All maintenance has been performed by the dealer and I have all the records. On top of that, the factory drivetrain warranty still covers the car for another 5k miles or until next April, whichever comes first, so you can drive away with peace of mind. My wife also banged up the passenger side door and bumper in a parking garage (it seems she also needs a side-view camera), and that was just professionally repaired with new sheet metal and painted to its original brilliance. If I hadn't told you, you would not be able to tell it was done. I also have a tow bar and wiring harness that I never got around to installing that I'll include for free if you want it ($300 value). The interior and exterior is like new and this is a spectacularly comfortable, spacious, stylish, and fuel-efficient ride with a fresh motor. I think my wife is crazy to want to sell it, but her loss is your gain. Come drive it and see for yourself.
