1969 El Camino (California Car) EngineThe Motor is a fresh 355 cu in four bolt main block with Edelbrock Performer RPM heads that have 2.05 intake and 1.60 valves and port work, as well as a Weiand blower producing @ 6lbs of boost. The cam is a Comp Cams hydraulic roller, and the combination produced a very streetable 532HP. Transmission The transmission is a fresh turbo 400 with a shift kit and performance clutches. The torque converter is brand new, with a stall rpm between 2700-2800. Read End The 10 bot rear has been rebuilt with a new 3.36posi – new gears, posi unit and bearings. While we were at it, we also put new axle bearings in, and put new brake shoes on the rear of the car. Body & Interior The body is as close to rust free as any I have seen, and the “rough in” work is almost finished. The car needs about a week’s worth of work to be show paint ready. The seats, door, panels, headliner, and the dash pad were new at 7,500 miles ago, with the rugs replaced at the time also. There are cigarette burns on the driver’s side which are ok for a “driver’s status” car, but needs replacement for a show car. Wheels & Tires The tires are all new Hancook performance tires on GM Rally Wheels, 275x60x15 on 8.5” wheels on the rear and 195x65x15 7” wheels on the front. The alignment has been done and the car rides great! Other Features The car is now equipped with new front dropped spindles and disc brakes, rear air ride and the obvious 5” cowl induction hood scoop. The bed cover is fiberglass, with the compressor and lines accessible in the front of the bed. I have new AM/FM radio installed in the stock location, as well as a console and the accessory gauges.
