Feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding- I will try to get back to you within 2 hours! We are selling this car because the owner passed away. This is a very well maintained, garage kept Chevrolet El Camino 1980. He just drove it around town when he needed a "Pickup." This is the standard V6 engine model, with 62,010 original miles. I have driven this car around and it runs great! Would be a really fun project car--has "classic car" plates on it. Now the bad: I would consider the interior to be in just fair condition-- the dashboard in particular has quite a few cracks which I made sure to photograph, and there is a tear in the drivers side leather/vinyl headrest. There is some minor rusting on the driver's side door, which I also made sure to photograph, and the tailpipe is also pretty rusted. Also-because the owner got sick, this car was not driven very much in the last few years. It was still taken around town- but probably only a couple hundred miles. The last time it was at the mechanic it checked out fine-but it is worth mentioning. Regarding shipping: this item is located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Local Pick up is preferred. Please message me first if you are bidding from out of state. An immediate payment of $1,000 will need to be made at time of purchase. With the rest completed at time of in-person sale.

This 1970 El Camino was restored in 1987 and is in very good condition given the age of the work that was done at that time. The car has been in my possession for just over twelve years and I’ve done a lot of modifications including: New front brakes (booster, master cylinder, drilled-slotted rotors, calipers, and soft lines)New SS style dash with Dakota Digital gauges, new vents, A/C control plateNew carpet and seat coversCustom sound systemEngine dress up including braded lines and covers, GM Performance valve covers, new radiator, aluminum pulleys, chrome alternatorLine-X sprayed in bed linerCraggar Wheels with knock-off center capsNew hood pins and cablesNew sun visor bracketsNew rear view mirror (stainless back)New Demon 650 CFM carburetorNew padded black and chrome steering wheel (Grant wood wheel also included)Traction bars The condition reflects an older restoration, and is not what I’d consider show condition despite having won a couple of trophies at local shows. The paint has some cracks and chips, but is in good overall condition and still shines. The worst of the paint condition is shown in the pictures with a dime-sized chip on the hood and some cracking on the driver’s side sail panel. With several coats of clear in the car, the paint could be repaired where needed and the rest of the car cut/buffed to a nice finish without a complete re-paint. The engine runs well and sounds like a beast thanks to the lumpy cam, but there are a few minor leaks and other issues that I want to point out so that there are no surprises. The oil pan drain plug does not seal do to some deformation of the pan. I have sealed that with RTV and do top-side oil changes, but a new pan would be something that should be planned. The rear main seal is leaking as is the transmission pan gasket. Again, these are minor issues, but I want to be as accurate as possible in my description of the car so there are no surprises. Most Internet cars look great in the pictures, but loose their shine when in person. I want the buyer of this car to be pleasantly surprised when they get this car and it's in better condition than they expected. The front end has a slight shimmy and I have purchased all brand-new parts from OPGI (ball joints, tie-rod ends, idler arm, bushings, shocks, etc.) to do a complete rebuild at some point. These parts, over $500 worth, will be provided with the car. The tires, BF Goodrich Radial T/As, have decent tread remaining, but are now over ten years old. They don’t have any dry rot or cracks, but places like Discount Tire will not work on tires over ten years old. I keep a battery maintainer on the car because of a parasitic draw that I haven’t identified. The battery was replaced a few months ago with a brand new heavy-duty one. The hood needs to be adjusted to correct the fitment issue that I introduced with new weather stripping. I tried to adjust it and made it worse, so I will leave that to someone who is more skilled than me. A good body shop would be able to adjust it in no time. The chrome and stainless trim on the car is all original and in good shape. There is a small 1/8" inch spot on the front bumper where the chrome is missing. The bumpers are original 1970's steel, not thin remanufactured parts. OEM parts are becoming rare and most restorations have cheap replacement trim that doesn’t come close to OEM quality. The windshield has the embedded antenna, tinted top edge, but has a couple of rock chips/stars. Safelite quoted me $230.00 for a brand-new windshield, installed. This car has a clear Colorado title. I do have the original hood and it was painted with the car. *The speedometer has recently stopped working. The local hot rod shop has told me it is the plastic gear in the tail of the transmission. They quoted me $200 to repair. With this exception…EVERYTHING else in the car works as it should. A very nice 1967 El Camino. You will not be disappointed. Accepting offers. I have listed the car to the best of my ability. Car is sold AS IS. Please ask question if unsure about anything. Second party inspections are okay and encouraged.
