I bought the El Camino for its good looks but quickly found out it needed some work. The body was in good condition but not securely mounted to the frame. Most of the rubber body bushing were completely worn out and needed to be replaced. The body was lifted off the frame and the frame was then stripped and sand blasted. The bottom of the body was painted with POR 15. The frame and differential were painted with POR 15. Detroit Speed Equipment Tubular 2" drop front end and suspension with quick ration gear box was added. New brakes, new Master Cylinder, new brake lines, new fuel lines, new hoses, new G-Force transmission cross member. The gas tank was sumped for better fuel pick up and possible future upgrades to fuel injection. A new GM 385 crate engine with serpentine belt and new TCI 700R4 Street Fighter Transmission were installed. The drive shaft was shortened, balanced and painted with Por 15. The motor produces 385 HP and 385 ft. lbs. torque. New coolant reservoir and washer fluid tank. New aluminum radiator with electric fan and new A/C condenser. To ensure speedometer accuracy a Speed Hut GPS based Speedometer/Tachometer gauge was installed. A Speed Hut oil pressure, water temp, fuel level and volt meter gauge completes the instrumentation. The interior was stripped out and the floor was painted with POR 15. Under carpet Sound and heat protection by B-Quiet stick on matting. The electric bench seat was replace with Procar Bucket seats. The rear carpeted storage flap was replace with a new Bow Tie embossed black vinyl flap. New seat belts. The bed is armor coated. Pioneer stereo with front and rear speakers. This El Camino looks great, gets many compliments and is fun to drive. With 385 HP and the new generation steering and suspension it out preforms most others. This vehicle is listed for sale elsewhere and this eBay sale will end if the El Camino is sold. Shipping is not included but I will do what I can to assist.
