1985 Chevrolet El Camino Base El Camino with RARE 4 bolt 350 V8 with TBI and 700r4 trans

This auction is for a base model, 1985 Chevrolet El Camino with a 350 V8 engine and Throttle Body Injection (TBI). Accessories are serpentine belt driven. This El Camino also has a GM Performance parts 4L60 overdrive transmission. A custom made mandrel bent "Y" pipe merging into a GM high flow three way catalyst. Starter is GM Performance 502 HO starter. This El Camino was built by me (GM Certified Master Technician), for my Father, using only genuine GM parts. This is a well sorted daily driver and is a California Air Resources Board (CARB) smog certified conversion. You won't find many conversion that are this well thought out, it looks absolutely stock and best of all- that nest of horrible vacuum hoses is gone and the often problematic 4ME Quadrajet is history too, replaced by the latest version TBI ECM and backed up by the best 700 overdrive GM ever assembled the MD8 (original equipment in 1993 LT1 Camaros and Corvettes) this trans is rare and bullet-proof for this application. The engine is from a mid 1990s (CARB certified as a 1991 but its actually a '94 or '95) GMC 1-ton truck that was totaled with 4,218 miles on the odometer. I bought the entire truck from the dealership and set the powertrain aside for this project. I finished this project in 2011. It's been driven about 2k miles since completion because my Father's health failed and he passed away. My Mother kept it sitting in the car port for awhile but recently someone stole part of the rear window moldings so she's decided to part with it. Questions welcomed. This is a 1966 el Camino with a 468 big block rebuilt at Precision Engine II. Motor made 501 hp and 567 ft-lb of torque on the dyno there. Have complete receipts and specs for motor. Aluminum radiator, March pulley system, MSD 7AL-3 control box, and MSD distributor. AED 750 carburetor. Has 700r4, nice to have overdrive. Rear end is 12 bolt with Moroso Brute Strength posi unit and Moser axels. Qa1 adjustable coil-over's in the back and Qa1 adjustable coil-over shocks in the front. Wheels are Weld draglites with Mickey Thompson radial ET Streets in the back Interior is nice, seats are perfect, new after market Marshall instruments gauge set up, Billet Specialties steering wheel, B&M Pro stick shifter, radio hidden in glove box with kick panel and rear speakers. Paint is good driver. Car needs nothing and is a blast to drive

1966 Chevrolet El Camino Fabulously straight rust body. Nine-year-old PPG two stage prime with high glamour elear still looks like new. $6500 in paint and body receipts. New front and rear glass are free from pits and scratches. It has very strong running Corvette 350/300 HP engine with an Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock carburetor, MSD distributor and MSD ignition box. Recently rebuilt and installed 700 R4 transmission in combination with a 10 bolt 3;23 gear let's this El Camino cruise down the highway. CPP front spindle power disc brakes stop on a dime without pulling. New front end suspension components and a Jeep Grand Cherokee power steering conversion make the El Camino steer like a modern car. The daisy wheels and nearly new BF Goodrich tires complete the package. Over 2,500 was spent on the interior. A few odds and ends including a stereo and speakers will complete the cabin. There are two layers of sound deadening material to ensure a rattle free interior. This is a very presentable driver quality car. With some finishing touches it could be a respectable show car.

The truck has the original 283 with an edelbrock aluminum intake and 4 barrel carb. Runs and drives great. Has American racing torque thrust wheels. Has a new master cylinder and brakes stop the truck perfectly. Interior is original and it has a B&M shifter with a turbo 350 transmission. All the gauges work. You are looking at a beautiful 1972 El Camino. Numbers matching car with only 72,800 miles .. believed to be original due to condition of car and previous owner bought the car in 1998 and says the mileage is correct. NO other documentation ... you be the judge. ICE cold factory air converted to R134A. Rare Factory power disc brakes (Usually reserved for the SS version). This is a HIGH quality driver. Not quite show quality but not what you expect in a daily driver either. You see ads stating "20 footer" or "30 footer" This is a 3 to 5 FOOTER !! The metallic charcoal paint is topped off with silver SS stripes and looks gorgeous! VERY high shine & definitely a head turner. There are a few minor chips and bumps from driving, but you have to be looking for them. The bed has usual scrapes etc. from daily use as a TRUCK. Chrome & stainless very nice (could use new outside door handles). Tinted glass is all good. All lights, gages, idiot lights, horn, wipers etc. work as they should. The 350 V8 starts instantly & runs smooth & quiet. The transmission shifts smooth. 12 bolt rear . Dual exhaust sounds great & exits out the back. Car starts, runs, drives, handles, stops as it should. There is NO play in the POWER steering. No unusual bumps, grinds, squeaks or rattles. New steel chrome wheels & 70% tread on P235/ 60R15 tires. The interior appears to have been redone, fits & looks nice. New dash cap . Door panels , headliner & carpet all nice. NO UNDER CARRIAGE RUST. Really clean underneath. (why I think the miles are right). Drive it , enjoy it, Your friends will be impressed.What it NEEDS .... rubber weatherstrip both doors, driver door mirror has a crack. Clear Texas Title. installed.we got this car a couple of years ago with the intent of making it a street racer. it kind of sat around for a while and now need the space so it has to go. currently starts up and runs for 10-12 seconds with gas fed to the carbeurator, but not on its own, so it appears to be a fuel issue, but it indeed does run and sounds like a beast. if you wanted to hook up a car like this it would cost a small fortune to repair. the car equipped with nitrous that has been disconnected at the moment but easy to rehook. we have driven this car and it does drive well, but since it has a fuel issue at the moment it would need to be towed or trailered.paint is very nice but decal is faded/peeling on the roof, chassis and floors are good since it has been stored indoors.....this car will not need Innovative for it's time, the El Camino revolutionized the truck industry by combining the comfort and ease of the car's chassis with the hauling potential of a light truck. The 1959 production year was the initial offering of this car/truck and is highly sought-after by collectors around the world. This vehicle here has been in Texas all it's life and has spent the last 20+ years in a barn here in West-Texas. The previous owner had the seat upholstered 10-15 years ago, and little else has been done to the car since then. The body is complete, straight, and shows zero evidence of any accidents or repairs. That being said, it has some issues regarding rust. There is typical rust damage in multiple areas of the vehicle, as is expected in Chevrolet products of the era. It has effected areas such as: the hood, floor (in some spots), tail-gate, and rockers. All these areas are relatively easy to repair/repair by a competent body shop. These areas are all shown in the photos below. The floors have had metal repair done on top of the original floor, so the floor is solid from the inside, but the original metal is still damaged underneath. However, the vehicle is incredibly complete and intact, the interior is all in great shape, the seat is not perfect, but is very clean and comfortable with no major tears or stains. The dash is straight with no major damage or issues; we haven't tested gauges or the radio, these may/may not work. The engine is the factory 283ci V8 with the correct 2-speed automatic transmission. We started up the engine and ran it off a remote tank and we were surprised at how well it ran after sitting for so many years. There were no signs of knocks, ticks, or issues. We didn't try shifting the transmission, so please assume that the vehicle will need to be winched onto a trailer. The windshield has a small crack on the passenger side, but they are readily available from glass suppliers. This El Camino could easily be gotten on the road as-is and enjoyed as a patina car, or fully restored to it's glory days. The pictures literally will tell a thousand words, so please look them over carefully. Clear Texas Title as well as factory owner's manual and keys! The car is located in Lubbock, Texas.
