A beautiful C1 Black on Silver with Red Interior that has recently finished a fully documented $30+K Restoration. Located in California, this car has an intense shine and has had the original chrome, re-chromed down to the teeth in the grill. This stunning car has both a white soft-top and detachable hard top with custom corvette rolling & locking hard top stand that gently cradles the hardtop when off on those top down drives! Shifts smooth as silk a joy to drive or show. 1958's only styling cues included a louvered washboard hood treatment and twin chrome deck lid strips and the four headlamp treatment and polished chrome grille with rare original front license plate holder.The chassis is straight and without flaws. The body is a "Not Hit" body and chassis. This car was put up last spring for sale on eBay, but taken down to have additional small components addressed (clock, turn signal light) and to do some light summer driving down the Pacific Coast Highway. About Restoration This car was stunningly restored by two of Northern California finest Corvette restorers; West Coast Corvette (2013) and Automotive Enterprises (2015). The $30+k restoration work is simply unparalleled. To a complete re-chrome, to refreshed and padded seats. From transmission swap to the smallest detail such as a rare functional clock. Their stunning work receipts on all restoration work and accompanying warranties would transfer to new owner upon sale. My father passed the car to me in 2010 upon his passing. Having terrible arthritis, he was unable to shift the manual Muncie transmission. I pulled out the transmission and put an automatic in so he could drive it in his last years. When he passed, as part of the 2014 restoration at West Coast Corvette, I had a Muncie 4 Speed Transmission placed back in to match the original. My father thought the 283 Chevy Block was too light and slow for his liking, so we dropped in a 1962 Chevy Camaro 327 in for more a little more umph. (Note a December Coded Chevrolet Corvette 283 could be sourced and installed with the matching frame date to make it a matching numbers car, however, this would substantially change the cars price north of $100K. Everything except the radio on the car is functional. The amplifier is non-functional and can be fixed for $1,000+/- plus time to ship out, NOS restored, and installed. All other components down to each lights, turn signals, heater, and clock function on this car. Mechanical Checks The vehicle HAD a input shaft leak in the transmission (noticed a small leak during annual maintenance). I had the transmission pulled out and the gasket replaced on 04/07/2015. The timing was off after a winter indoors. I had the timing properly set on 04/07/2015. Set Timing to 10 Deg. BTDC. Was at 18 Deg. BTDC. All spark plugs were replaced also on 04/07/2015. SPARK PLUGS AC DELCO CR43TS. Temperature results: TEMP. 180 DEG AFTER IDLE AND COMPLETELY WARMED UP The engine was compression tested during the annual maintenance on 4/17/2015. The Corvette had a complete restoration in 1998 by my father who has since passed and left me the car. In 2014, the Interior, Chrome, electrical, and soft top needed restoration. All of which were done. In May April of 2015, small nicks and blemishes were noticed in the paint. Had car exterior completely refreshed and repainted by well known Fiberglass shop where any issues were present.
