To start with, let me first say that I am listing this ’68 Corvette L88 re-creation for a well-known classic and muscle car dealership and in doing so, I will be acting as an agent for this dealership. The owner, who is a friend and someone that I have known for over 20 years, founded his ’68 Corvette L88 re-creation dealership in 1996 and has been a veteran of the car business for over 30 years. All of his vehicles are chosen for the highest standards and quality. A careful and complete analysis is done on every one before they offered for sale. If you want an honest and complete description via telephone, please feel free to call Roland at 603-361-3693. As an FYI, the ’68 Corvette L88 re-creation is located in Manchester, New Hampshire just 15 miles from the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, for the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, I feel that there is never too much information. As to myself, I am not a dealer, just a (66) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I am retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback which is 100% with (1,139) transactions. Many of those have been muscle cars which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland and Australia. MAY CONSIDER TRADES. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ARE WELCOME WITH A DOWN PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL AND THE BALANCE VIA WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. Just a little history on the L88 Corvette: Beginning in 1966, General Motors’ Regular Production Option codes became the mantra for performance junkies, and perhaps even more so for Corvette aficionados. Ask any muscle car-aholic for proof—Z28, LS6, ZR1, ZL1, and of course, the legendary L88, to name but a few. The new 427-cubic inch L88 V-8 was an outgrowth of the “big block” Mark IV engine program first introduced in the form of a 396-cubic inch V-8 in 1965. GM management had initially decreed that no car line smaller than its full-size lineup should carry an engine larger than 400 cubic inches, including the Corvette. Since the 396 V-8 squeezed in just under the limit, it replaced the fuel-injected 327 in the Corvette as the top offering. Dubbed the L78, with 425 advertised horsepower, some 2,157 buyers checked the option block and paid $292.70 for the privilege, but Chevrolet was about to be upstaged. Carroll Shelby began installing Ford’s 427-cubic inch V-8 in his two-seat Cobra, and Chevrolet engineers were compelled to respond. It materialized for 1966 in the form of Chevrolet’s own 427 V-8, basically a 396 with a larger 4.25 bore, an 11:1 compression ratio, and an advertised 425 horsepower. The engineers went for broke one more time, which resulted in what is known as RPO L88. Once more, it was based on the 427, but it had 12.5:1 compression and was topped by a single Holley four-barrel carburetor sucking 850 cubic feet per minute while being capable of running on 103 high-octane fuel. Sources quoted the true output to be closer to 560 horsepower. Chevrolet upped the price of admission, too—this time with a $947.94 price tag! Ordering the engine required certain mandatory options, and the radio and heater were deleted in order “to cut down on weight and discourage the car’s use on the street,” according to a press release at the time. Just 20 buyers said “yes” and bought what was essentially a racing engine for the street that was given an RPO code. The L88 was back for 1968, this time enveloped by an all-new Corvette. Despite the hefty price tag for the optional engine, 80 buyers signed up for the blistering performance. Contemporary road tests quoted 0–60 mph in 4.2 seconds and barely 8.0 seconds to 100 mph! The L88 came back one final time in 1969, when 116 buyers said yes before the history books closed the chapter on one of the Corvette’s most powerful engines of all-time. In all of Corvette’s glorious history, there was never anything like the L88. It was solely intended for racing, and was so potent that Chevrolet actually actively discouraged its sale to the general public, even to the extent of understating its actual horsepower rating at 430 HP, less than the incredibly powerful L71 427/435 HP Tri-Power option; in reality, the L88’s figure approached 560 horses. The formula for the L88 engine was both simple and devastating: 4-bolt mains, forged crank, rods and pistons, 12.5:1 compression, aluminum heads with huge valves, a wild solid lifter cam and a gulping Holley 850 CFM 4-barrel double pumper on an aluminum intake. There were no creature comforts, and it had to be ordered with transistor ignition, vacuum power brakes, a special master cylinder and dual pin brake calipers, heavy duty suspension, a Muncie M22 ”Rock Crusher” 4-speed and Positraction. Enough for the history lesson. Now on to this rare and beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster L88 re-creation: This pure performance muscle machine has all the looks under the hood of a real L88. Pure performance is an understatement when you fire up this L88. The rumbling sound and less than 50 miles driven since the rebuild. This Corvette is recommended for race fuel only. (100 octane or above). This extreme performance Blue Chip replica is considered an excellent driver quality machine and priced well below market value and comes with all receipts of service work completed. Exterior: The Corvette presents that brilliant high gloss luster. Straight body with no waves, proper alignment to hood, headlight buckets and doors that close with the touch of your finger. Super clean exterior body and paint. Other exterior notes of interest are: · Refinished in 2-stage base coat clear coat paint (1966 GM Trophy Blue metallic), · Matching paint on the hard top; · White soft top; · New windshield; · Original door glass; · Very straight body panels; · Show quality re-chromed front and rear bumpers; · 15" Corvette Rally wheels with raised white letter radials. Interior: · Roll bar (added in the early 70s giving the car that period look); · New seat covers; · New carpet set front and rear; · Walnut steering wheel (excellent condition); · Functional speedometer; · Functional tachometer; · Functional gauges (clock not working). Engine: This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88 roadster re-creation has an L88 motor built to factory specifications. For the L88 build, the motor and Corvette were built with the following: · 12.5:1 compression; · Winters GM aluminum heads (Heads are dated 1969); · Aluminum intake; · Correct Holley carburetor dated 1967; · Correct transistorized ignition; · Factory style exhaust manifolds; · Rebuilt 4-speed M-22 transmission; · L88 hood; · L88 air cleaner element; · Aluminum radiator with no shroud; · Radio delete; · New side exhaust system (Factory option in 1969 only on the C3 models); · What appears to be an original L88 hood; · 3935439 427 ci block casting number dated 3/7/69 (.030 thousands over}; · 3933163 Intake manifold casting number dated 11/20/68; · 3919842 Winters aluminum rectangular port heads dated 11/12/67. Mechanical: Mechanically very sound with no notable issues. Undercarriage: · Very clean and solid frame; · New suspension and front end parts. Hot on the heels of the newly restyled 1966 Chevelle came the 1966 Nova. 1966 saw noticeable external sheet-metal changes, a 327 engine, available up to 350 horsepower (L-79). Underneath and mechanical-wise, it was the same chassis and overall structure as the 1962-5 models. Seat belts became standard equipment for the first time this year (in anticipation on meeting 1968 mandates). It, too, underwent a complete restyling in 1966 into what many Nova aficionados consider the most desirable example of the marquee. For your consideration is this beautiful 1966 Chevrolet Nova Sport Coupe. Excellent body paint with black vinyl bucket seat interior. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them and respond ASAP. Here is the link to the video: Engine: The engine is a 1965 283ci. It has a Holley intake with Edelbrock 4BBL carburetor. Electronic ignition has been installed. The exhaust manifolds are correct for a 1966 283ci. Please look at the engine photos to see how nice the engine compartment looks. The engine starts and runs excellent with no overheating or messy leaks or drips. Transmission: The transmission is a 4-speed and shifts up and down the gears fine. Exterior: The exterior is exceptional. The paint, chrome and bright work are in very good to excellent condition. All glass is very good to excellent condition. Rims and tires are excellent. Interior: The interior is in very good condition overall. There are no rips or tears in the upholstery. The dash, headliner, sail panels and package tray are all in very nice condition. The carpet is in very good condition and has what appears to be new NOVA floor mats. The door panels are in good condition as well with nicely installed speakers. All seat belts are present. Door locks and windows are in good working order. Rear Axle: The rear axle is a 10-bolt and has no leaking, clunking or funny noises. Undercarriage: The undercarriage is clean and shows to be in very nice overall condition as you will see the photos. The exhaust system is in good condition. Electrical: All exterior lights are in working order to include the headlights, tail lights, running lights, blinkers and the plate light. (The backup lights are not connected.) The speedometer, wipers, horn, cigarette lighter and gauges are all functional. The heater works fine. The interior light works. The AM/FM cassette radio works but because it was drawing off the battery, even when the key was off, I disconnected the wire going to the positive side of the battery which in turn made the radio non-operational. Trunk: The trunk is in very good rust free condition with a spare but no jack assembly. Mechanical: The brakes to include the emergency brake work correctly. The steering is very good with no power steering. The suspension is very good with no issues. Tires and rims are excellent. The Nova starts, shifts and drives down the road great. I have tried very hard through description, photos and video to present this 1966 Nova 400 2-Door Sport Coupe honestly and fairly. Having said that, ask any and all questions before bidding and not after the auction ends and you are the winner of this 1966 Nova 400 2-Door Sport Coupe. Terms of Sale: This pre-owned vehicle is being sold "as-is, where is" with absolutely no warranties and/or guarantees either expressed or implied. Seller also reserves the right to end this auction early without any liability to the seller. I do not have a Maine title for this 1966 Nova 400 2-Door Sport Coupe as Maine does not issue titles for vehicles that are more than (15) years old. I have sold cars all over the country as well as Canada, England, Switzerland and Australia and have never had a problem. The car will come with a Bill-of-Sale, the Maine registration signed over to the new owner and a copy of the Maine law regarding titles which is on a form issued by the Maine Motor Vehicle Department. Thank you again and good luck bidding.

I ALSO HAVE INTERNATIONAL BUYER REFERENCES FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO CHECK. NICE MUSCLE CAR TRADES CONSIDERED. Hypothetical question: If you were to visit your local weekend car show, what’s the most common mid-size muscle car you would most likely see in attendance? The answer: Chevelle, and there’s a very good reason for that. The Chevelle was one of Chevrolet’s most popular models it has ever sold, it was one of the best selling cars of its era, and it remains to be a model that is coveted by hot rodders and collectors alike. Introduced on September 26, 1963 and built between model years 1964 and 1977, the Chevrolet Chevelle was available in a wide array of body styles; everything from a two-door sport coupe to a four-door estate wagon. Chevrolet, after realizing that their Impala model was seemingly growing by the foot, needed a mid-size model to fit in between it and the recently-released compact Nova/Chevy II. Chevrolet, wanting to get their point across that this was a driver’s car, and not a stripped-out racer, included every comfort and convenience Chevelle option available, including a tachometer, so the driver could keep a close eye on his revs that the L37 provided, a 160mph speedometer (presumably to help keep Johnny Law out of his or her rear view mirror), and deluxe front and rear seat belts to help keep occupants safe and in place, in the event that the vehicle’s owner ever decided to go crazy and engage in any extracurricular activities. An AM/FM radio, padded dash, and a remote driver’s side mirror came as standard equipment as well. 1968 delivered a whole new redesign for the Chevelle and its A-body cousins. Featuring a shorter wheelbase, the immensely popular long-hood, short-deck styling, along with a sculpted body and tapered front fenders, the new body style gave the Chevelle the muscular appearance that it rightfully deserved. What would become the final year for the Chevelle, 1977 added up to a miserable year. The sole “performance” option was a 170 horsepower, four-barrel 350, while a Chevelle SE (Special Edition) offered front and rear spoilers, Turbine II wheels, special graphics and decals, front and rear sway bars, F41 sport suspension and a deluxe interior, resulting in 50 of these being built. As GM downsized its intermediate models for 1978, the Chevelle name was dropped, leaving the Malibu as the nameplate for all models. Today, the Malibu name is synonymous with Chevrolet’s desperate attempt to compete with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, not exactly the platform to bring the fabled Chevelle back with. Today, the Chevelles of the past are the greatest symbol of Chevrolet’s strength during these tumultuous years. Although it existed a mere 13 years before it morphed officially into the Malibu, Chevrolet’s Chevelle remains a beloved muscle car. The Chevelle SS was the carmaker’s high performance version of the Chevelle. Featuring its own line of performance products and engines, the Chevelle SS boasted the most powerfully rated engine of all the muscle cars. For your consideration is this beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 4-speed replica convertible. Excellent body paint with black vinyl bucket seat interior. If you ever wanted a real Chevelle SS convertible, you know that they are pretty much out of reach for the average person. This replica is as close to the original as you can get at considerably less money. Look closely at all of the photos as well as the video and see if it might be right for you. Now on to this rare and beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster L88 Re-creation: This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88 roadster re-creation has an L88 motor built to factory specifications. Other notes of interest are: · Dyno tested to maximize the performance; · Refinished in 2-stage base coat clear coat paint (1966 GM Trophy Blue metallic), · Matching paint on the hard top; · White soft top; · Roll bar (added in the early 70s giving the car that period look); · New seat covers; · New carpet set front and rear; · Very clean and solid frame; · New suspension and front end parts; · Walnut steering wheel (excellent condition); · Functional speedometer; · Functional tachometer; · Functional gauges (clock not working); · New windshield; · Original door glass; · Very straight body panels; · Show quality re-chromed front and rear bumpers; · 15" Corvette Rally wheels with raised white letter radials; · Detailed engine bay; · Complete engine rebuilt with less than 50 miles logged on the odometer: § 12.5:1 TRW forged pistons; § Hastings rings; § GM 7/16 dimpled rods; § New standard cross drilled and balanced GM steel crank; § STD Cleveland bearings; § ARP hardened head bolts; § Balanced and clearance specs available; § Solid flat tappet cam shaft .560/.580; § New 5-blade fan; § Aluminum 4-row radiator; § New HD clutch; § New pressure plate and throw out bearing; § New factory style exhaust manifold; § New OEM side exhaust/muffler shields; This pure performance muscle machine has all the looks under the hood of a real L88. Pure performance is an understatement when you fire up this L88. The rumbling sound and less than 50 miles driven since the rebuild. This Corvette is recommended for race fuel only. (100 octane or above). Finally, this unique re-creation looks and sounds like the real deal. The car presents that brilliant high gloss luster. Straight body with no waves, proper alignment to hood, headlight buckets and doors that close with the touch of your finger. Super clean exterior body and paint. This extreme performance Blue Chip replica is considered an excellent driver quality machine and priced well below market value and comes with all receipts of service work completed. Before you ask, let me first say that; yes, this 1980 Z28 Camaro just recently sold on eBay. That is the good news. The bad news is that the winning bidder never paid and now I have to relist my Camaro. I know some potential bidders will feel that the car did not sell due to some issue that caused the winning bidder to renege on their obligation to purchase the car. However, please look at my feedback and be 100% assured that that is not the case. The only loser here is me, who thought the car was sold but instead had to wait for over a week, prior to relisting, to receive a refund from eBay due to a non-paying bidder. I received the refund tonight hence the reposting of my ad. So here we go again... To start with, let me first say that I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, for the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, I feel that there is never too much information. As to myself, I am not a dealer, just a (65) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I recently retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback which is 100% with (1,134) transactions. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ARE WELCOME WITH A DOWN PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL AND THE BALANCE VIA WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. I ALSO HAVE INTERNATIONAL BUYER REFERENCES FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO CHECK. Some Brief History on the 1980 Z28 Camaro: After two years of watching the Ford Mustang enjoy tremendous success, on September 26, 1966, General Motors finally launched its entry into the pony car segment, the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. Although available with a mediocre six cylinder for volume sales, the Camaro could be equipped with several V8s and a myriad of performance options. Chevrolet stated that the "Camaro" was named after the French word for "comrade." The Camaro was available from the start in hardtop coupe and convertible body styles. Love it or loathe it, the Camaro Z/28 is one of the most popular muscle cars ever produced. For years, these cars got more exposure than the gang from Orange County Choppers, but today it seems they've fallen on hard times, suffering the cost of that 15 minutes of fame Andy Warhol warned everyone about. Be that as it may, these cars have reached their historical low in terms of pricing. The Z/28 represented the best Detroit had to offer in the early 1980s, and an excellent entry point, given today's heated muscle car market. The sales brochure summed it up: "The 1980 Camaro Z/28 has sleek, crisp styling with show-stopping good looks, unmistakable zest for hugging the road and capturing the heart, and a flair for moving through life with style." The 1980 Z28 was the last that you could order with the quintessential muscle car power-train combination - a 350-cu.in. V-8 with a four-speed transmission. Regardless of their shortcomings, the 1980 Z/28 was a superb handling car with plenty of luxury if you were willing to foot the hefty price tag. The base price of a 1980 Z/28 was $7,121.32, quite steep 35 years ago. 1980 Camaro Production totals: Style Production # % of Total Pace Car 3,675 1.3% Convertibles 15,573 5.6% Z28 20,302 7.2% SS 36,309 13.0% RS 40,977 14.6% Base 165,226 58.8% Total 280,858 Now for your consideration of this beautiful original drivetrain, original body panel, 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. This is a true three owner Z28 Camaro with the previous owner purchasing the car in 1983. He has loved this Z28 Camaro and kept it stored and safe for the past 32 years. He has never abused it or driven it in inclement weather. The Z28 had approximately 30,000 miles on it when it was purchased and now has 63,057 miles on it. That equates to a little over 1,000 miles per year. His intention was always to give the Z28 to his daughter but life changes and he decided it was time to pass the Camaro on to another owner, using the funds from the sale for other endeavors. That’s where I come in. I saw the Z28 setting on the side of the road for sale and almost did not stop, as I assumed it was an automatic. For some reason, I turned around and went back only to find that it was an original 4-speed Z28 and that is what sold me. As with all of the cars that I sell on eBay, the easiest way for a prospective buyer to get a sense for my cars is with tons of information and loads of photos and a video. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them and respond ASAP. nt-size:16.0pt">Here is the link to the video: The 1980 Z28 Camaro Comes With the Following: · Same 2nd owner last 32 years; · Factory original LM-1 Corvette engine (VIN stamped); · Factory original 4-speed transmission (VIN stamped); · Factory original posi rear axle; · Unmolested with no modifications (Accept one repaint and headliner.); · Rust free original body panels, floors, trunk, rocker panels and frame rails; · Hurst Shifter Handle; · Silver exterior; · Carmine red bucket seat interior; · Front disc brakes; · Power steering; · Factory A/C; · Much more. It was repainted once back in the early 1990’s buy the top body shop in the area. Just recently, I had the front passenger’s side fender fixed/repainted due to a parking lot “hit and run” that occurred many years ago and was simply not addressed by the previous owner. There was a small dent and scratch that I simply had to fix even though it wasn’t a big deal. The car looks very nice in the red stripe on silver paint color combination of which only 9.5% of the 1980 Z28 Camaros were painted. The front and rear bumpers are in very good condition as well as all of the trim work. The door handles and the side mirrors are also in very good condition. Marker lights, tail lights and bezels are all very good with no cracks or pitting. All glass is factory original and considered to be in good condition with no cracks. Interior: The Carmine (red) interior is in good overall condition considering that it is factory original and 35 years old. The seats are in good condition as you will see in the photos with one rip in the driver’s seat. (See photos) The door panels are also in good condition with minimal wear and fading. The door and window hardware is in good working condition. The headliner was replaced many years ago with what appears to be a red checkerboard design with no rips or sagging. The carpet appears to also be original and is in good condition. The dash has no warping or fading. The center console looks great with no cracks or staining. All factory belts are present and in good condition. Door locks and windows are in good working order with good window whiskers and weather stripping. Engine: The original VIN stamped factory installed 1980 Z28 Camaro RPO LM-1 5.7-liter (350ci/190bhp) engine sits in the engine bay and has never been removed or rebuilt. The VIN number and the correct CEU stamp as well as the corresponding correct date code are present. The engine still retains the following factory parts: · Block; · Cylinder heads; · Intake manifold; · Carburetor; · Exhaust manifolds; · Distributor; · Alternator; · A/C pump; · Radiator; · Wiper motor; · Power steering pump. There are no messy engine leaks or annoying exhaust puffing sounds within this Camaro’s engine compartment and the overall look is clean and neat in appearance. Transmission: The VIN stamped transmission is the factory original M-21 Muncie 4-speed with the factory original Hurst shifter attached. There are no leaks or funny noises and transmission shifts up and down through the gears as it should with no issues. Rear Axle: The rear axle is the factory original Salisbury-type semi-floating 10-bolt with 8.5” ring gear. It is a 3.03 posi unit. There are no funny noises, clunking or leaking observed Electrical: All exterior lights are in good working order to include the headlights, tail lights, running lights, blinkers, backup lights and the plate light. All interior lights are also in good working order to include the dash lights, blinkers, console gauge lights and overhead light. The heater, wipers, horn and all gauges are completely functional. The A/C unit has never been recharged since the previous owner purchased the car 31 years ago. He believes that it will need to be converted to the new R134 refrigerant and then it will work. A new AM/FM/Cassette radio has been installed in the original radio opening without cutting the dash. Trunk: The trunk is in very good condition but only has the jack assembly and tire iron present. There is no spare tire. Mechanical: The power steering and power disc brakes to include the emergency brake work correctly. The suspension is very good. The 1980 Z28 Camaro starts, shifts and drives down the road like it owns it. Undercarriage: The undercarriage is very nice showing no signs of rust or rot. Look at the extensive undercarriage photos which will display the undercarriage condition better than any description that I can conger up. Important ID Photos: You can see all of the important ID photos here and they are all decoded for your convenience. I have tried very hard through description, photos and video to present this 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 honestly and fairly but may have missed something, so feel free to ask questions. Having said that, ask those questions before bidding and not after the auction ends and you are the winner of this 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Terms of Sale: This pre-owned vehicle is being sold "as-is, where is" with absolutely no warranties and/or guarantees either expressed or implied. FYI: There is no Maine title for this 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 as Maine does not issue titles for vehicles that are more than (15) years old. I have sold cars all over the country as well as Canada, England, Switzerland and Australia and have never had a problem. The car will come with a Bill-of-Sale, the Maine registration form proving ownership, signed over to the new owner and a copy of the Maine law regarding title exempt vehicles, which is on a form issued by the Maine Motor Vehicle Department. Although it existed a mere 13 years before it morphed officially into the Malibu, Chevrolet’s Chevelle remains a beloved muscle car. Introduced in 1964, the mid-sized car was produced to compete with the Ford Fairlane. The Chevelle SS was the carmaker’s high performance version of the Chevelle. Featuring its own line of performance products and engines, the Chevelle SS boasted the most powerfully rated engine of all the muscle cars. The 1967 Chevelle changed very little from the previous year, but had a new reworked bumper and a new blackout tail panel. Among other changes, it did come with better drivability because of more aggressive tires, front disc brakes, and 14” wheels. A new three-speed automatic joined the ranks of available transmissions. A new model was introduced, the Concours, which was merely a prestige wagon with wood grain sides. The 300 and 300 Deluxe remained relatively unchanged in their bare-bone offerings. The Deluxe did offer different interior color and more expressive trim. Both offered a 2- and 4-door sedan, while the Deluxe had the added option of a 4-door wagon. The Malibu continued its reign as the leading seller of the Chevelle, and would continue to do so throughout the Chevelle’s life, because it boasted the highest number of model options with the 4-door sport sedan, 2-door sport coupe, convertible, 4-door sedan, and 2-seat station wagon. The Concours was just an upgraded form of the Malibu wagon that most visibly distinguished itself with wood grain sides. Inside, the Concours featured a high-end textured vinyl interior for both the seats and the side panels. The SS 396 saw a performance damper. The L78 was not available, and the L34 dropped to 350hp from 360hp. This was a result of a new GM rule governing the horsepower allowances for all cars other than the Corvette. Although GM did not offer the L78, some dealers installed the engine and 612 cars included this high performance engine. For your consideration is this 1967 Chevelle SS clone. Originally a Malibu Sport Coupe with a V8 engine and a bench seat with column shift automatic, this Malibu was going to be a 427 Chevelle SS with bucket seats and a 4-speed super car. However, it was not to be. The clone process was started in Pennsylvania where the car was repainted to yellow with a black vinyl roof. Bucket seats were added and a 4-speed console was retrofitted to handle the 2-speed automatic transmission. A 350ci engine was installed along with all new interior. (Front and rear seat covers, door panels, head liner and carpet). What is good and bad about the paint is; the bad, it was repainted yellow; the good, it was originally Madeira Maroon or better known for its 1970 color name of Black Cherry. Black Cherry has long been one of the most popular colors ever produced for the Chevrolet cars and I am in hopes that the next owner will restore this Chevelle and paint the car back to that incredibly beautiful color of Madeira Maroon. (Black Cherry) The person I purchased the car from purchased it back in 2003 in Carlisle, PA and drove it back to Maine with the good intention of completing the restoration. He purchased the Maine vanity plate “67 427SS” and that is as far as he got. (The pair of Maine vanity plates will go with the car.) The Chevelle set for the next 12 years in his barn (The barn has a wooden floor.) where I looked it over and purchased it. Due to a very musty smell from sitting, I gutted the entire interior, sprayed with Lysol and cleaned everything I could with Clorox wipes. Then I purchased a new carpet and new headliner and reinstalled the interior with the exception of the headliner which will go with the car. I changed the oil, added antifreeze, blead the brake lines, installed a new temperature sending unit and then decided it was time to try and start the car. Prior to starting the car, I drained the gas tank, installed new gas with octane booster and filled the 4BBL carburetor with gas, letting it sit overnight to re-swell the gaskets. The next morning, I pumped the gas and turned the key and the engine fired right up and idled beautifully. I checked the transmission fluid while the car was running and ended up adding a quart. Don’t get me wrong, the car needs lots of attention. I.e. floor boards, wipers not working, transmission slipping, shocks probably need replacing, low beams not working. However, there are good aspects. i.e. 1967 Chevelle 2-door sport coupe V8, Maderia Maroon (Black Cherry) original color paint, excellent frame rails, new interior, horn works, radio works, oil pressure gauge works, speedometer works, high beams work, running lights work, blinkers work, brake lights work, brakes work. Today I added fuel at the gas station and the fuel gauge started working. (I may have said it was not working in my video which I shot prior to getting gas.) Check out the video here: Exterior: The Yellow paint is driver quality. The glass is all good. The chrome and bright work is driver quality. Decent rims and tires. Doors open and close fine with all exterior locks functioning properly. Interior: The interior is in very good condition overall. There are no rips or tears in the seats, door panels or dash. The carpet is new. There is no headliner installed but a new headliner will go with the car. There is still a slight musty smell that I am told will dissipate. Front seat belts only. The wipers and heater blower motor are not working. Undercarriage: The undercarriage has been patched in areas but the important frame rails are in very good condition. The exhaust needs to be replaced. The gas tank is in good condition with no leaks. Emergency brake is not working. Engine: 350 ci that starts and runs good. No dripping or leaking noticed. As a precaution and a lubricant, I added a container of Bards Aluminum radiator additive when adding the antifreeze. Transmission: The transmission is slipping but is still very drivable. Trunk: The trunk is in good condition having been re-spatter painted at some point. There is no spare or jack assembly. Mechanical: The brakes work correctly. The power steering is fine. The suspension needs to be addressed with new shocks. There is a clunking when going into gear initially. ID Photos : Vin. Number: 136177G107576 Vin. I do not have a Maine title for this 1967 Chevelle Malibu as Maine does not issue titles for vehicles that are more than (15) years old.
