This is my daily driver and my only vehicle. I have been driving it for over 2 years. It's been a lot of fun and dead reliable, starting easily in below freezing temps and never over heating in the hot summer. As you will see in the pictures, the rockers, door bottoms and some other areas are succumbing to the harsh winters we have in the North East. I am not going to be able to repair the sheet metal properly so here it is on eBay. It would be a very affordable way to start a restoration project since nearly everything has been replaced and updated except the sheetmetal. This truck will cruise at 75mph all day or sit in traffic and stay cool. The red prices are approximately what it cost me and obviously not the current value, but it will give you an idea of what I put into this. There are a lot of unaccounted for parts/fluids/supplies and ALL labor and just the red prices come out to well over $15,000. I paid $5500 for the truck...I wish I didn't just add that up. I would love to get half back, make me an offer! I bought this truck in Vermont. The owner said it had been sold at an auction in Texas and brought to VT where it sat in storage. I picked it up and have been building it as a cool custom truck. Here is a rundown of all the things I have done in the last couple years and some details about the truck. - Electrical/interior/misc - All new wiring, American Autowire Classic Update with all new switches. $500 New NAPA battery, power wires and ground wires. Technostalgia LED tail lights and front signals $175 80/100w H4 headlights direct to battery with 2 heavy duty relays and 10g wires. BRIGHT! $150 Windshield wiper delay box with separate knob. Reproduction door mirrors from Ecklers. $60 Reproduction interior mirror Ecklers. Reproduction pedals from Brothers. Grafted electric Autometer speedo into stock gauge cluster. There is no odometer now. Classic Instruments GPS skydrive for speedo. It's under the dash speaker grill so the signal is weak sometimes.(speedo wire from PCM is in harness as an alternative) $240 New stainless wiper arms. $30 New wood steering wheel and steering column moved forward 1/2" when PS was installed. $150 New steering rag joint. $40 New NAPA turnsignal switch. $50 New lower door hinges from Ecklers. $100 New Hummer 3 point seatbelts. $80 The truck cam with the seats that are in it. Pretty comfortable. w/ lumbar support and storage box console The factory temp gauge works and I calibrated it with resistors to read at the 1/2 mark when warmed up. The sending unit is in the right cylinder head. The factory oil pressure gauge also works and is hooked up to one of the ports above the oil filter. The factory amp gauge is not hooked up to anything. The windshield washer system doesn't work at the moment. I put a small, electric Trico pump under the dash and it does run off the factory washer button but it's not hooked up to a washer fluid bottle. - Fuel - Custom 21 gallon Aluminum fuel cell with filler tube in bed. Needs to be filled slower than new cars. $250 Walboro 190lph intank pump in it's own 2qt sump inside tank. $100 Classic Instruments level sender (E on gauge leaves you with 2 gallons, about 40 miles) $40 Fuel pump and sending unit are mounted in custom stainless steel hanger assembly that bolts into the tank. 3/8" Fuel hard lines, Earls -6 soft lines at engine. $180 Fragola Aluminum fuel filter with ORB to AN adapters $110 - Engine - 2002 LS engine 5.3L LM7 100k miles $1100 F-body oil pan with -12AN return port for turbocharger, new gasket and pickup O-ring $220 Custom "tucked" wiring harness $500 Custom intake tube, vibrant aluminum bends $110 Hooker cast headers with silver ceramic coating. The coating is starting to flake off. $350 TIG welded Stainless 2.5 to 3" exhaust with V-band flanges. Magnaflow mufflers. Exits in front of axle and is not loud but very deep sounding. $400 in parts New Water Pump and Thermostat $150 New Plug wires with MSD LS coil ends crimped with proper ratchet crimper $100 Russel Fuel rail to -6 AN adapters $25 PCM Programmed to remove rear O2 sensors/emissions and to run an electric fan. Otherwise stock tune. $200 New flexplate with OE spacer $75 New NAPA starter $180 Valvoline synthetic oil One powersteering hose has started to leak a little in the last few months. Starts, idles and drives great. Pulls pretty hard at full throttle and sounds great. It's about 300hp and 340tq - Cooling/Heating - New dual pass PRC Racing radiator $275 New Spal extreme electric fan moves A LOT of air. $175 Custom aluminum fan shroud New brass Heater core $60 New Blower fan $35 Custom coolant header tank with steam hose. $35 - Transmission - 1998 4L80E 4 speed w/ overdrive, stock converter 50k miles $900 new filter, pan gasket and drain plug welded on pan. TCI front mount oil cooler $85 TCI ATF Maxshift $50 Lokar black billet dipstick $80 Lokar Shifter $280 New Custom 4" driveshaft with new yoke and joints, rated for 700hp $540 Shifts nice and firm if your foot is in it. Shifts like stock at light throttle. - Rear End - 80s 12 bolt 4x4 truck housing and backing plates, slightly wider than original '66 with bigger brakes $300 New Currie upgrade axles, new wheel studs $300 New outer bearings and seals New NAPA shoes, slaves and hardware New NAPA drums $75 Eaton Posi differential $475 New Yukon ring and pinion and all Koyo bearings/seals 3.42:1 ratio. $258 + $105 Custom adjustable Panhard bar $100 Lucas LSD gear oil Firestone airbags and Monroe shocks Rear axle moved back to center in wheel openings buy shimming the front brackets with 1/2" plate There is less than 1000 miles on the rearend rebuild. I broke the govloc and went 100% new on the rebuild. - Front End/Suspension - CPP drop spindles/ disc conversion $600 New MOOG balljoints (CPP ones made some noise) New brake hoses $50 New metric Powersteering box $130 New tie rod ends New pitman arm New idler arm Firestone airbags and Monroe shocks Used 2006 SRT-8 brake master cylinder and booster, it stops great but I think the master cyl needs rebuilding. Pedal is nice and hard sometimes and sometimes it feels soft like a newer GM truck. Always stops great though. Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve and residual valve $75 AccuAir eLevel system with control pad on drivers side visor. Just hop in and go! So cool! $3800+ This is a very livable airride system. I don't hesitate let my girlfriend take the keys and head to the store. It's set to go right to ride height when you start the engine, anyone can drive it safely. The ride is WAY smoother than the stock coils and it self levels no matter how much weight is in it. Dual Viar 444 100% duty cycle pumps with 4g power feed. Relays and fuses in cab. 5 Gallon stainless steel air tank with siphon drain on side as well as quick disconnect for your air tools! Water trap on feed line to Accuair solenoid block. New Wheel Vintiques 16 x 8 wheels and tires with about 2500 miles on them. Tons of tread left on all 4. $850 - Body - New rubber cab mount rubbers from Brothers $50 New turn signal lenses from Ecklers New tail light lenses from Ecklers Glass is all original and isn't too bad except the windshield which has scratches and light haze at the bottom. Obviously the sheetmetal needs some love. Unless you don't mind driving it as is, I would replace door bottoms, rockers and the tailgate. The top of the front wheel wells and the radiator support mounts are starting to go as well. Bedsides and 90% of cab are good. Hood has one paint crack on the top and some bubbles showing on the front. Some of the weathering is charming and some is just ugly. You could easily patch the bad rust and do some creative painting to give this a cool patina look. There are holes in doors from west coast mirrors. The bed wood is solid except for the very front edge. There was a huge fuel tank there and it trapped water under it and there are a couple holes drilled for the old fuel lines. New stainless cargo tiedowns in the rear corners. The front fenders are fiberglass and are in great shape. There is a working 4 pin trailer plug by the 2" hitch receiver. The frame and suspension arms are in great shape. It could use a C notch in the rear so it can sit even lower aired out and/or ride around lower. So there it is. Thousands of dollars of parts, a few hundred hours fabricating and installing. I hope someone will take this truck, make the body solid and drive the wheels off it for years to come (and maybe put a turbo or two on it!). Maine does not issue vehicle titles for older vehicles so you will need to do a title application in your state if required. I will provide a bill of sale. I have done my best to show and explain this truck but there is a chance I forgot something. Please ask me any questions BEFORE the auction ends. You can message me through eBay and I will reply quickly. The sale is final and the truck is sold AS IS. I am more than happy to work with a shipping company if you need it shipped or I will meet you in person within 50 miles of Portland. You will need to send the deposit via paypal and then the balance due as a bank check, personal check (must wait to clear) or cash if meeting in person. Thanks for looking! MAKE ME AN OFFER! I'm saving up for a new truck so I'm motivated to move this.
