1979 Chevrolet Corvette was a much smaller change from the last year. The standard seats are now the lighter weight and taller version that was introduced on the pace car in '78. The passenger seat now folds flat to the level of the cargo area. The automatic transmission equipped models had the rear gear ratio changed to 3.55:1. This particular car is equipped with the standard T-Tops, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Sport Mirrors, 350ci Engine, Turbo Hydra-Matic Transmission, Tilt Telescopic Steering Column, Kenwood AM/FM Radio with four Alpine sparkers, Power antenna, 8x15 American Mag Wheels, and 255/60 White Lettered Radials. The Corvette has most all factory correct components including the jack, seat belts, washer system, and shifter. The Corvette front and rear "soft" bumpers were up graded with new 1980 urethane plastic skin. The 1980 bumpers included the front and rear spoilers from the '78 pace car that were molded into the front and rear bumper pieces, these reduced drag by approximately 15%. The skin covers the aluminum impact bars mounted on two telescopic brackets. In the stock hood were installed two NACA air ducts for better air flow to the blower air mass sensor and engine bay. Other than these changes the Corvette retains all of its original body panels with no damage. The custom “Rich Maroon Metallic” is very nice with painted gold pin stripes. The black leather seat covers are new. The interior presents very well, to include the dash pad, carpet, instruments, switches, and door panels. An extra layer of insulation was added under the entire carpet area. The engine compartment is clean. The underside is clean and presents very well. The Corvette performance up grades, rebuilds, machining, repairs, and replacement parts are as follows: 350ci engine; 144ci B&M Roots Blower, air sensor EFI system, B&M super engine oil cooler, engine cylinders were inspected and honed, Keith Black silicon hypereutectic pistons 8KB120+STD, Total Seal piston rings, Fel-Pro gaskets, new Clevite main bearings, new locking engine mounts, new harmonic balancer, new rod bolts, rod side clearance was faced to .015”, crank shaft oil journals chamfered, crank and rods hot tanked, all parts magnafluxed, balanced, and peened for stress relief, oil pan baffle and crank wiper, high volume oil pump, new oil pressure switch, six quart Milodon oil pan, MSD 6-BTM Boost Timing Master Ignition with 6000 RPM chip, MSA Extra Duty Distributor, MSD Blaster II Coil, MSD 8mm heli-core plug wires, Moroso spark plug wire looms, Kevlar high heat plug boot protectors, Crank case scavenger kit was installed with Hooker Super Competition Headers, 1 7/8” tubes to 3” collectors stepped down to 2 ½” pipes with a pair of Flow Master mufflers. Heads; Stock cast 8.5:1 low compression, intake and exhaust passages ported for maximum air flow, values reworked, new Crower valve springs, 1.5 roller rockers on intake valves, 1.6 roller rockers on exhaust valves to extend dwell time on exhaust valves, new Fel-Pro head gaskets, new Teflon cap type valve seats, and lifter valley oil baffle. Transmission; Turbo 350 with installed 400 valve body, B&M shift kit, 2200 RPM stall converter, and new heavy duty rubber mounts. Chevrolet's 1972 line of light-duty trucks continued in the style introduced for 1967, with minor changes. Designers continued the egg-crate design to the grille from the previous year and minus the Black finished grille surround. The Chevy "bow-tie" logo remained in the center. This half-ton C10 is a 115 inch wheelbase with a late model 6.5-Stepside foot box. The interior Custom Trim Level features a cab headliner, extra sound & weather insulation and upgrades to the seating and interior trim. It has been updated with a Vortec LY5 (special order iron block with aluminum heads) LS fuel injected 5.3 engine, 700R4 automatic transmission and goes down the highway like a late model truck, 70mph at 1900 RPM, but with the classic 70’s look. The late model engine swap and restoration was recently completed with the truck only driven less than two thousand miles. The newly added Vortec 5.3 fuel injected engine has received the important diagnostic tests and electronics setup on a dynamometer so the ratios and performance data are tuned for maximum performance and dependability with a performance range of 320 to 330 horsepower and 340 foot pounds of torque to the rear wheels The gorgeous paint has been rubbed and buffed out to perfection. Every detail was not over looked and with every look, from every angle, you cannot help but notice its craftsmanship and attention to detail. The truck is optioned with power steering and the 4-wheel power disc brakes stop the vehicle with confidence. The new 18” Polished American Torq-Thrust II wheels are 8” front and 10” rear with new Rikin Raptor ZP tires, 245/40ZR18 front and 255/45ZR18 rear. A new aluminum fuel tank, custom built by Boyd’s Welding, uses a high pressure submerged fuel pump feeding through a Corvette style fuel regulator mounted underneath the rear with stainless braided gas lines, four core radiator with dual electric fan set-up, runs 190 degrees all the time. KWIK A/C relocating bracket, which holds a Denso air conditioning compressor that pumps cold air to the cab using a brand new evaporator/dryer set-up made for this Vintage Air system to fit into the 1972 The truck is immaculate inside and out. The interior is original style with 1972 black custom seat with white/black houndstooth inserts, and deluxe style interior with all new tinted glass. The classic EQUUS instrument electronic gauge package fits the factory style instrument bezels, AM/FM/CD stereo radio with custom speakers, and factory style tilt column with custom steering wheel and cruise control. Every button, light, and switch works on this truck as it should. A new Optima red top battery supplies the starting power and a new chrome Power Master heavy duty alternator keeps it going.
