This car came up for sale when the owners buddies convinced him to order a new Camaro SS. Who says being in your 70's means your not full of spunk. This car isn't quite 70, but it is 58 years old. It is still full of spunk, too. Perhaps limited use and loving care allow it to look so good and act so young. The mileage of 37,200 is claimed to be actual, and by the last four owners. It seems hard to believe, but when inspecting the car, it becomes easy to believe. We can't prove the mileage claim, but your inspection will open your eyes to the wonderful condition of this car. Going back twenty years, the mileage has only changed by 5000 miles. During this time, a frame-on restoration occurred. Certainly that is responsible for the wonderful appearance of this car. But looking underneath, it all appears untouched. It is very solid with minimal surface rust and no rot or scale. This car was built at the Janesville, WI plant. Had it ever been driven in winter, or for lots of miles, it couldn't be so nice. During the restoration, the engine was rebuilt. It now has hardened seats for unleaded fuel compatibility. The engine is an era correct 283 with correct Rochester 4 bbl. carburetor. This is called the Power Pack. It maintains the original Powerglide automatic transmission.The body is in great condition. The base coat/clear coat Sierra Gold finish is of show quality. Considering it is twenty years old, it has held up very well. We see one small bubble at the bottom of the passenger door. It has been there a long time and has not progressed. We don't feel it warrants a repair. Perhaps you disagree. There is enough touch-up paint to take care of it. We feel the bumpers were re-plated and the interior reupholstered during the restoration. Again, they are still show worthy. Both the exterior finish and interior trim correctly match the codes on the cowl tag. This color combination is not often seen. That, and the condition, are what attracted us to this automobile. We also like the options. Having power steering and brakes makes this a great car to drive. We like cars with EZ-EYE tinted glass. The recent upgrade to Coker wide whitewall radials enhances your driving experience. Recent repairs such as brakes, rebuilt power steering, new shocks, new battery and new weather-stripping improve the quality of the car. This lovely car is show ready. More importantly it is road ready. Runs Great, I have put on a cold air intake, alternator and rear brake shoe this spring. The battery and front brake pads and rotors were changed in 2012 and have a lot of live left.
