This is a dependable car with low mileage that averages over 20 miles per gallon. It was originally a GM company vehicle, and we purchased it from GM company vehicle operations (it is a "PEP" car). The oil was changed regularly and other maintenance was performed as required. New Goodyear tires put on in early Fall of 2016 for winter. Now the bad news...three minor accidents: 1) Rear ended at stoplight (< 5 mph) required rear bumper replacement, 2) someone backed into the drivers side front and rear door in a parking lot, requiring some cosmetic bodywork and paint, and 3) a tall curb damaged front end under bumper, which was not repaired (see picture of cracks under the front bumper). There is no structural damage whatsoever; all three of those incidents were more than a year ago, and the car drives straight and smooth. It is also very clean on the inside for a Michigan car, with no seat tears or carpet issues. The body has minor door dings and a few scratches, but no rust or dents. The car just sits in our garage and we'd like to stop paying insurance :-), so please take it off of our hands. The low price is firm. If you're local (southeast Michigan), we'll be glad to bring you the car if you purchase it, or you can pick it up from our place. It would make a great first car for a new driver, or a nice replacement for your existing car, especially if yours has a lot more miles on it. The color is a gray-brown (taupe, actually) and the interior is a good-looking two-tone brown that you don't find in many cars these days. It has always had floor mats to protect the carpet from the snow and salt. You'll definitely enjoy the heated seats in the winter, and the huge sunroof is a blast in the summertime. I have owned this Corvette for over 30 years. I am the third owner. The car was ordered by a doctor and purchased new at Wink Chevrolet in Dearborn MI. It was then sold a few months later to another doctor, then I bought it with 9,000 miles on in and have owned it ever since. Previous owners are known and names will be included in the final sale. This Corvette was loaded from the factory. Mileage is 30,600 and is original. Car has been stored its entire life and has rarely been driven in the last 10 years other than times to give it some exercise. Belts and hoses are original. Calipers are Stainless Steel. Tires are brand new. Mufflers are brand new NOS bought from the Chevy dealer years ago. Still has original exhaust with converter in tact. Paint is 80% original. When the car was new the passenger side rear tire blew out and put a stripe on the rear quarter. That area has been repainted. The bumpers had deteriorated to the point of needing replacements so new Fiberglass/Rubber bumpers were added last year. Painted to match and fit very nicely. The original paint has some nicks down low behind tires and on front of the hood. Which are to be expected after 39 years from a car with original paint and low miles. Everything on this car, including the A/C works. The A/C has its original Freon charge and blows as cold as it did the day it left Wink Chevrolet in Dearborn MI. Engine starts immediately, trans shifts perfect and it rides firm. You will not find a more original and loaded 1976 Corvette. It runs great and will take you anywhere you want to go.
