This Chevrolet Corvair 700 was the deluxe model for 1960. Introduced in October 1959 , in two body styles and two trim levels . This upper level 700 4 door very original condition that has had all a mechanical restoration and is in top running condition.Factory options on this 700 were the gasoline heater ($74) and fold down back seat ($32) . There were no back up lights on this car ,but a kit is included(lenses already installed) but the delete covers are also included. Also there are 2 like new freshly painted horizon blue fender skirts in the trunk. This car has documented 44,000 miles and is in great condition ready to go anywhere. I have done extensive mechanical restoration to bring the car up to like new condition , while leaving the interior ,paint and trim as was delivered from Chevrolet. Mechanically it has NO issues and It drives ,feels and smells just like a new 1960 Corvair. Even all of the weatherstrips are soft and in great shape. The drive train was removed earlier this year and has been fully restored by Averycorvairs ,a Corvair specialist in the upstate of SC. The engine was checked out ,and re ringed, cylinders were checked ,and honed. The crank and bearings were like new. The heads were cleaned, valves done, and flashing cleaned for better air flow. It has a bolted flywheel, viton seals ,new GM clutch disc, locking top cover bolts, and the oil pump clearance set. All of the sheet metal has been bead blasted, and repainted.(only because the paint was improperly cleaned and falling off). The engine compartment was thoroughly cleaned ,harness removed, sanded and painted for the same reason. The axle was fully dis-assembeled,cleaned, inspected and assembled . It is a 3;27 ratio .The transmission was checked out and resealed and has synthetic oil. The fuel lines are all new ,including pump, and sending unit ,and the tank was previously cleaned up and sealed by the prior owner. The exhaust system is new last year along with a NOS muffler. The wheels were checked ,one was replaced ,and all 5 were refinished, and the rear wheel bearings have been serviced front and rear. All of the interior finishes are original ,and the rear seat and door panels ,are as well. The door panels are origional although the drivers door panel is frayed slightly at the bottom. The front seat has had the surface replaced at some point with cloth. I believe the the original owner did this for comfort. The headliner is in good condition but shows stains from the years. The gas heater works great ,has been serviced, and has a new exhaust pipe. The car drives like a dream and I would not hesitate to go on the road anywhere with it. The tires are in very good condition 195-70 13 The paint is the original horizon blue (891) lacquer and still looks just as it should ,with the original luster and correct gloss , not like the over restored clear coated fake plastic paint you see today. There are wear spots and slight discolorations in the paint in places ,but it is the original paint. If you like low mileage original vehicles , you will be impressed with how good the chrome ,trim, finishes are. There is a crease in the right front and rear doors. The front seat was recovered at some point. Also the front mat shows some wear . There is a dent in the body under the front bumper(see picture). The car is located in upstate SC . Fell free to come see it or call Brian with any questions. Contact by email or text or phone .864 384 4042The car is currently licensed and insured. Please call me if you have any questions.
