1966 Chevy with a 1989 12 valve Cummins and 727 automatic transmission. The rear end is the stock 12 bolt with a 331 ratio. It was built with the rat-rod look that is safe and reliable. The truck has the original frame and suspension components. It has manual steering and 4 wheel manual drum brakes. No hacking or torching on the chassis for the new power plant. The tunnel was moved back 1inch to facilitate the removal of the rear valve cover. The floor rust has been repaired and coated with "Lizard Skin". A new custom seat cover was installed by an upholsterer. The truck has been on the road for several years and has no major issues. The bugs have been ironed out. We went through several generations of throttle cable, lift pump, starter, etc.. It is used locally to run parts and go to shows. The chassis is sound and unaltered. Where the motor mounts in the chassis, extra support was added to carry the load. The bed has 1/8 steel plate installed with rough cut lumber bolted over it. It is loud and proud it captures a lot of attention everywhere it goes. It has served its purpose as a shop truck and it is now time to move to the next one in line. 1966 C10 Rat rod Truck. On the road for several years. Used as shop truck for shows and parts runner. Runs well with no major mechanical issues. It is a rat so there is rust. Holes in the floor patched with plates. The frame and truck as a whole are solid. Manual drum brakes and manual steering. Its a rough rider, it was not built to go across country. We have enjoyed it around the shop and at many local shows, it gets plenty of attention. We are moving on to the next project truck.
