This truck comes with a whole bunch of extras that the previous owner never got to install too, like a BRAND NEW IN THE BOX chrome steering column with tilt, BRAND NEW IN THE BOX Dakota digital gauge insert panel, and more! PLUS, you get touch up paint for both colors AND the paint codes to make more! The truck is a 5 footer, and when you are cruising it down the road, EVERYONE will check it out and give you a thumbs up! It shows glossy and slick like you see in the photos, and really looks good even right up close sans the blemishes I am about to cover. Up close, you WILL SEE FLAWS IN THE FINISH! It was done a few years ago, and has been driven and used, and has chips, tiny dings, a few scuffs, and some spots where prior repairs are showing. Worst of it is the driver side lower rocker where it has cracked and split, and the bottom rear of that door which has cracked as well, and has a small triangle that has chipped out. Drip rails have light signs of issues, but are solid metal underneath and on the lip. A magnet sticks to them all the way around and on the windshield header as well. Front fenders are really solid and nice. Roof is really solid and nice. Passenger door is really solid and nice. Bed and tail gate are really solid and nice, and has light fill around the wheel lips which is solid and clean looking. Chrome bumpers front and rear are in excellent condition. New tail lights are installed, and need wired. Headlamps are installed, and have loomed wiring in place, but a brand new set of Union Pacific LED headlamps are included as well! Chrome grill looks amazing, as do the mirrors on each side. Door handles are in great shape! Parking lamp bezels are new, and the wiper arms look like they might be too. Side trim is in fantastic condition, and has only a few minor marks. Emblems are in great condition. Black powder coated wheels are in excellent condition, and have new baby moon caps all around. They are wrapped in new American Classic white wall radials size P205/75R15 all the way around with less than 1,000 miles on them. Side glass and vent windows are crack and chip free, and looks original to the truck. Rear glass is crack and chip free, and has light markings on it from certain angles. Windshield is solid and clean, but does have three chips in it. Weather seals on the windshield and back window are in great condition, soft, and not damaged. The bed wood on the raised floor in the bed is purposefully aged, but is solid enough to stand and walk on without issue. Relocated fuel tank cover was hit with pool acid to age it a little too, as were the stainless bolts holding the stainless slats down. Pop open the hood and you see a clean, finished, and painted engine bay with normal signs of use. It is not perfect looking, but you can pop open the hood with pride at any car show. Chrome power brake booster looks great. A 355ci Chevy V8 is a mild build intended for daily driving and reliability. It will spin the rear tires if you want to, but is more suited for cruising. Black valve covers and air cleaner with the Chevrolet logo in red look good, as does the chrome alternator. Hoses and lines are clean, and mostly new in appearance. Wiring is clean and neat and carefully loomed. Radiator is a NOS replacement with hi-flow water pump and big shroud to keep things cool on hot days. A 350 Turbo transmission is a stock build, and shifts smooth and clean through all gears. Power steering makes it easy for anyone to drive! The tire clear the fenders all the way to the ground too. Front DISC/Rear DRUM brakes stop the truck easily, and were recent additions. Chassis is painted black, and is not show quality or anything. Just functional. C-Notch looks good, and the truck has airbags on each corner, with shocks that were selected for the drop to give good ride quality at any height. You cannot drive it in the all the way down position. You have to bring it up about 1.75 inches higher than the ground to drive safely. The air ride system has a compressor on its own switch that you turn on under the dash. It fills in about 50 seconds, and the truck is ready to go up or down with ease. Dash mounted switchgear provides front up/down and rear/up down. What more do you need? It goes from the ground to full up position in about 1.5 seconds, and drops in about 2. It is fast. Nice when you hit a red light because you can slam it on the ground and air it back up in an instant. Bags stay inflated, and I parked it with them fully inflated overnight, and they were fully inflated the next morning. No listing or awkwardness, just full front up and down, and full rear up and down. Underside is clean and free of thick goopy cover up spray most people use, so you can see the new parts on the suspension and body mounts and stuff. Bed floor was hacked up to make room for the notch, and the wood raised floor over it is solid enough to hold my 260 lbs without issue. It might not be pretty, but it is safe and functional. Interior was started and is not far from completion, plus, most of the big stuff comes with it! Red and white vintage style upholstery on the seats and door panels is free from rips, tears, seam pulls and damage. It is DIRTY from being driven and used, but it will clean up. We do not do full details on our cars so you can see how they came. I took a damp towel to the side of the seat where it is white, and it cleaned right up as you can see in the pics. A little elbow grease and time and you will be Aces and Eights. Driver side has good looking and function door pull and window roller, and the driver side were removed to be replaced, but lost. It now has a multi-function vice grip in place to use on each of the driver functions. You can grab new ones from 100 places online for cheap. Carpet was newly installed, and is clean, stain, and tear free. It is NOS style from LMC. It is held down on each side by bright and shiny sill plates. Stock style brake and gas pedals. 1980 style GM tilt column is clean, and has function tilt. It has an S10 style steering wheel that looks great and has no issues. A BRAND NEW IN THE BOX Pro-Comp chrome steering wheel is included and is ready for you to install. Dash top is clean and undamaged. Dash front is clean, and has a functional glove box, cut out where the modern style radio was planned to go, and cut outs for A/C vents that were planned as well. Dual 12V outlets are in place. Headlight and wiper switches are in stock location. wipers do not work and are not wired, and the headlamps do not work as they are not wired yet either. A set of brand new headlights is included as well. Gauge cluster in the truck is decent looking, and would just need hooked up I guess, but the prior owner included a BRAND NEW DAKOTA DIGITAL CLUSTER he was going to customize it with, using a solid panel of steel as a backing and all of the brand new senders that are included too. Interior roof and back are painted in red, and there are no upholstered kick panels or anything included. Dome light cover is missing. Not much left to do on the interior, and you can drive and enjoy it while you finish it up to your taste. Inner doors, inner rockers, hinge area, and door surrounds are all clean and solid, and the doors shut clean and easy and seal up good thanks to newer weather stripping on both sides. It starts easily, idles cleanly, does not smoke, and has left only the tiniest dip of oil from the pan on the shop floor since I got it. I have driven it about 30 miles, and it is a killer around town cruiser that will give you the confidence to drive it anywhere. If you want a freeway flyer, you will need a gear change, as the GM 10 bolt feels like it has 3.73 gears or so in it, and prefers to hang out at 55mph, not 75. It handles great, and I have driven it at speed in the normal ride height, and full up with equal success and no issues. Ride is just a lot better aired down a little. Braking is solid and sure, and after 10 minutes behind the wheel, you will almost forget you are driving a bagged truck. Not sure what else to tell you. That is not the case with this machine, because to me, it is the perfect combination of classic original looks, modern upgrades, and exceptional reliability that is a formula I didn’t want to mess with! Let’s start with the body. It is incredibly straight, exceptionally clean, and has nothing except a handful of normal little real-world marks on it like stone chips and tiny scuffs from being driven. It is all steel, and all solid with NO bondo panels, chicken wire, beer cans, or anything else in it. I have taken a 4 inch square felt covered magnet over the entire painted exterior and it sticks like glue! Gaps, fit, and finish is about as nice you can get on a real truck that isn’t some 6-figure Barrett-Jackson build, and doors shut with a gentle push, hood aligns correctly, and tail gate stays secure and rattle free when driving. The light blue finish is Diamont, and right out of the 1966 color chart. It is in very good condition, and shows to be shiny, bright, and free of orange peel, debris, and other irregularities. The off-white trim on the roof and side insert panel is GM correct too, and looks just as nice, with a glossy, wet shine that really goes well with the blue, and has a classic, old-truck look. Chrome grill and front and rear bumpers look stunning, and are free of any major issues. Marker light inserts upfront are stainless, and show well, while the chrome trim around the rear tail lamps and marker lights looks great too! Tail gate chains are covered to prevent scratching anything, and the chrome latches look good and function as they should. Chrome stake-hole caps look great, and provide a great place to tie down loads. Door handles show wonderfully, as do all the side trim spears, cab trim panels, side view mirrors, antennae mast, and stainless wiper arms. Emblems look great as well, and the final shiny bits on the truck are the dual exhaust tips that look great peeking under the back bumper. Glass is clean, and has no chips, cracks, or damage evident. All of the weather seals inside and out are clean, solid, and soft to the touch, and supply proper sealing of the cab against water intrusion. The bed wood on the truck was water-sealed, and then each plank was treated to LINE-X spray before being installed in the truck, which had the whole bed interior coated in LINE-X already. To set things off, polished stainless strips were installed with new hardware. Collectively, it looks amazing, and totally different than the sea of pine you usually see. The truck rides on 10 hole PACER alloy wheels with chrome center caps that have seen better days in the looks department, but are fully functional and straight. They are wrapped in modern Grand Am Radial GT tires with at least 80% of the useable tread life remaining, and they are size 255-70R15 at all four corners. Open the doors, and you are met with a clean, neat, and well-done interior that shows wonderfully. The entire inside cab, including the dash and door panels, has been painted in Graphite Metallic paint and is as shiny, slick, and wet looking as the exterior. A stock gauge cluster works perfectly and looks great. It includes: FUNCTIONAL GENERATOR LIGHT FUNCTIONAL OIL LIGHT FUNCTIONAL COOL AND HOT LIGHTS FUNCTIONAL FUEL GAUGE FUNCTIONAL ODOMETER FUNCTIONAL SPEEDOMETER (although GPS shows it is 8mph fast). WORKING 12 VOLT OUTLET WORKING ASHTRAY WORKING GLOVEBOX WITH LINER WORKING HEADLAMP SWITCH WORKING HIGH BEAM SWITCH WORKING TURN SIGNAL SWITCH WORKING WIPER WASHER SWITCH WORKING FAN CONTROL SWITCH WORKING SIDE VENT LEVERS The stock steering column is painted to match, and the shift location is capped because the prior owner elected to install a LOKAR floor mount shifter with boot and polished bezel. A chrome 3-spoke steering wheel with wooden rim looks amazing, and allows room for drivers with a larger chassis. There are no odors of any kind in the truck, and no sign of any pet dander either. Rear view mirror and dual visor mounts show light natural patina, but still look good, while the visors themselves are in as new condition. A KENWOOD AM-FM-Cassette has been in the truck for a long time, and the prior owner didn’t listen to it much, so never saw a need to upgrade it. It works like it should, and picks up channels and plays cassettes which sound surprisingly good. The under dash hand controlled E-Brake works like it should. NOS style carpeting is in very good condition with no rips, tears, stains, or damage. It is held down on the sides by chrome sill plates, while show polished rocker trim protects the paint from getting scuffed when getting in and out. Stock pedals are in good condition, and function perfectly. Each door has a clean and functional armrest in black vinyl that look great, along with new appearing window rollers and door pulls. Light scuffs on the driver and passenger inner door from the prior owner could be touched up easily, but are not so bad as to require it. Fuel tank is only a few years old, and is clean and functional. The truck has been run on mid-grade unleaded by the prior owner for years with no issues. Plus, since it was regularly driven, it never succumbed to ethanol clogging like some vehicles. Vinyl and cloth bench seat looks and feels new, and has no rips, tears, stains, or seam pulls. It is VERY comfortable, has room for 3 adults, and lap belts for two. Open the hood, and you are greeted by a clean and utilitarian engine bay that shows nicely, but puts function ahead of form. The 350CI decodes as a CKD L48 block from a 1977 Corvette. I cannot get the head numbers, nor access the casting number on the back of the motor. It is a solid and great running motor that has been worked regularly over the last 4-5 years and has not sat stagnant. I have personally driven the truck about 150 miles in the last few weeks or so, taking it to a show about 30 minutes away in a mix of highway and town driving, and it runs like a champ with no issues. It is nicely dressed with chrome air cleaner and valve covers, everything else is painted and clean, and it shows quite well with the hood up at car cruises. Hoses, lines, and wiring are all newer, neat, and cleanly placed and loomed throughout, and everything underneath works like it should. NOS radiator keeps its cool, even when stuck in rush hour traffic, and I had it idling for 30 minutes when I took the photos with no issues or incidents. A 350 turbo transmission shifts smooth and clean with no shift kit, stall converter, or other modifications. A 12-bolt GM rear end fitted with drum brakes and what is believed to be a 3.83 rear end. The truck runs about 3600 rpm at GPS verified 70mph, and seems to be in its sweet spot at 60 mph cruising at approx. 2400rpm. I did not open the rear end, and am basing the gear ratio off a tire diameter/speed/rpm calculator. Stock suspension and underpinnings have been updated with new components over the years, but staying with stock style parts. It is not lowered, altered, or adjusted from stock, and rides and handles remarkably well. The chassis is clean and neat, but is NOT detailed or ready for car show mirrors. It is a truck that was made to be driven, and has the normal nicks, scrapes, chips, dirt, and grime that being on the road provides. It probably shows nicer than your regular car underneath, but would need detailed and degreased to look its best. The best part of the chassis is that is has not been treated to the usual “rust proof spray gunk” treatment like so many others, so you can actually see that it is real, solid, and damage free metal underneath. When I start the truck up cold, I let it idle clean until the cool temp light shuts off, then it is ready to roll. Snick the LOKAR shift into gear, and power is plentiful as you shift through all speeds. The truck handles great, and you can drive with one hand on the wheel with no odd pulling, wander, or excess slop. Braking is solid and sure, and the truck rubs off speed with ease, and never pulls, wanders, or has excessive modulation. It runs cool, is blast to cruise in, and has nice clean rumble that isn’t too loud, and isn’t too quite either. Like a newer V8 Camaro. The prior owner used it almost daily to run around the two island communities, as well putting it into service for parades and special events. This truck is the PERFECT blend of reliability, old school cool, performance, and head turning good looks, and it is ready to go wherever you want to drive it. The body on the truck is SUPER solid and straight, as you can see from the 100 large photos showing the door jambs, undersides of fenders and doors, rockers, cab corners and everything else. There is NO sign of rust, rot, bondo panels, chicken wire, or crushed up cans on the truck, just all REAL STEEL from front to back. Gaps and fit and finish are all well above average, and certainly better than factory stock! Doors close properly, tail gate functions as it should, and the hood is adjusted to line up perfectly without any lift or gap anywhere. The glass on the truck is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or damage evident. Seals and rubber trim all look very good, and even the vent windows function like they should. There are some very minor little normal use blemishes on the truck, and I have highlighted them in the photos below next to a tape measure to show you how small they are. Tiny scuffs, stone chips, and light paint runs under the rockers that you can’t see unless the truck is on a lift are what I am talking about. There are NO large dents, dings, or damaged areas on the truck. The finish is rich Brandywine Metallic GM paint, and it looks really nice on the truck! Glossy, slick, and wet all the way around, with just a hint of sparkle in under the noon day sun! Other than the aforementioned minor blemishes, it shows really well, and is clean and straight too. Cab corners, rockers, fender rolls, rain gutter, door edges, and more are all clean, straight, and show no signs of rot and rust. Front and rear bumpers are in fantastic condition, and gleam brightly in the sun. Mirrors look good, as do the eyebrow light surrounds, tail light surrounds, side trim, antenna, wiper arms, tail gate chains, emblems, and badging. You may see light patina and signs of use, but they are fully serviceable. Door handles show light to medium wear and patina, as do the trim panels on the sides of the cab. The front grill looks great, but is starting to show patina and oxidation mainly on the bottom segment of it. If you are going to drive and enjoy the truck, I doubt these items would bother you, but if you want to take up to a full show truck level, you’ll want to address them eventually. The truck rides on 6-lug chrome wagon wheel style rims that look great from a distance, but do have oxidation and wear on the inner lip corner. Again, if you are going to keep driving and enjoying this truck it probably won’t matter, but to make it a show winner you’ll want to grab new wheels. Since wheels are such a personal thing, I thought it best to leave these on and let you pick your own. That being said, the rims are not bent, damaged, or anything else, and they are wrapped in GODODYEAR Workhorse Radial tires size LT235/75R15 rubber that has a good amount of safe tread remaining. Glass on the truck is crack, chip, and damage free, and doesn’t show any laminate issues either. All of the rubber trim, seals, and stripping looks really good too. The wood side rails go in the factory stake pockets and can be removed or installed by one person. The Sanibel Island lettering can be sanded off if you want to put something more personal on it. All the wood is in good condition, as is the hardware. Tail gate is rust and rot free, and opens and closes like it should. The tail gate chains do double duty keeping the gate shut when it is up, and holding it flat when it is down. Bed sides and wheel tubs are in great condition, with only normal marks from the truck actually being used as, well, a truck. No damage or disrepair to be found. The prior owner installed 3 large panels of weather treated wood, and used all the original hardware mounting points, to create a cleaner, easier to use bed that you can slide things in and out of easier than the narrower bands and aluminum strips. It is highly functional, looks great, and is super sturdy too. The exhaust tip peeking out of the driver side rear end is oxidized and pitted. I am including another new tip for you to install when you get the truck home. Overall, the outside the truck is clean enough that you can call it a show truck, take it any local or regional event, and probably even win a prize for something. Any little blemishes or items mentioned above are really inconsequential to the overall appearance of the truck. Pop open the hood and you are greeted by what is believed to be the original GM 292 inline straight 6 engine. The block numbers show it to be correct era and time. The engine runs so nice it will make you think it is 1965 all over again! The prior owner relied on this truck as a daily use vehicle on the islands, so it has been carefully maintained to be as reliable as it was when new. The engine has already had new gaskets, valve seals, most of the hoses, plugs, and more done in the last 8-10 months, and when we had the truck serviced and safety checked, they couldn’t find a thing that it needed. Engine bay is clean and presentable, and everything works like it should underneath the hood. Radiator is an OEM replacement unit less than a year old, and keeps the temps cool even in our hot Florida weather. Factory heat and defrost settings appear to work like they should, without issue. Not a lot of chrome or billet in this machine, just a nice looking breather. Everything else is more about functionality than good looks. When you get the truck home and take the time to degrease, detail, and clean the engine bay, it will look even nicer than it already does. Chassis on the truck is stock, clean, and solid. There is no sign of any rust, rot, or damage underneath, and the bare frame and pans are NOT covered in black spray on goop or anything else to hide stuff. You can see from the photos that only light oxidation resides on the bare metal, and that comes right off with a whisk of a wire brush. The rest of it is dirt and grime from being driven, but basically it is just a clean, straight, and well-kept chassis from front to back. Coil springs all the way around give the truck a nice smooth ride, without being to cushy. Cab and bed mounts are dirty, but appear functional and fine. Stock rear end gets power from the 292 via the original 2-speed powerglide transmission, which shifts great, and makes driving the truck a blast! Shift it into gear, and the truck is ready to roll! It gets up to speed pretty quick, and will hang with 70mph traffic all day long if you want it to! Driving it, I noticed that the speed was slow, so we checked it with GPS Navigation and found that the speedometer is 8 mph slower than reality, so 62 on the speedo is actually 70 in real life. Keep that mind when you’re out cruising! The truck handles great, steers great, and really truly is a capable daily driver that feels as solid as it must have in 1965! I have personally driven the truck about 120 miles, and it is a BLAST! It is fun to pass people on the freeway in an old truck , and it is nice to hear all the requests to take a picture of it anytime you stop. Opening up the doors reveals a stock style interior that is clean, and ready for you and your passengers. Door panels have OEM style arm rests, door pulls, and windows rollers, and look great! Dash is clean, straight, and painted to match, with a functional instrument panel showing TEMP, DC, FUEL, and OIL PRESSURE. Underneath that you will find the switchgear for the headlamps, electric wipers, and the functional choke to the left of the column, while the key switch and cigar lighter reside to on the right. Heat and defrost controls work as they should, and the ashtray opens and closes like it should along with the glove box. Factory radio is in the truck, but stopped working about 3 years ago. I do not know why. The prior owner installed a newer AM/FM Cassette player in a custom enclosure under the dash, and it sounds great through the modern kick panel mounted speakers. The bench seat has been fully recovered and sprung in the past 2 years, and it is comfortable, clean, and looks amazing! Dual visors and rear view mirror look great, as does the dome light. Steering column is painted to match, and topped with an original wheel in very good condition. Signals work, as does the PRNDL selector on top of it. Carpet is new from just a few years ago, and still looks fantastic in the truck. It was installed over a layer of insulating and heat proofing material. Gas and brake pedals are clean and utilitarian in style, and the E-Brake appears to function as it should as well. The whole interior is just a really clean and nice place to command this machine from, and will make your passengers happy too! That about sums it up! We purchased this truck in January of this year at the Mecum auction in Kissimmee, Florida,It was the nicest example that I have seen. Since then, we have been through the truck and made a few adjustments. We added power steering and power brakes to make the truck more pleasant to drive.(Classic Restoration in North Fort Myers). We raised the truck slightly for a smoother ride and greater clearance.(it can be easily lowered if desired by reinstalling the shorter front springs and reversing the blocks in the rear) We added a Vintage stereo and console with speakers. We road force balanced the wheels and replaced the 2 front tires to further improve the ride. At this point, everything is in excellent working order. From the best we can tell, the truck spent its life in Georgia. The truck looks, runs, and drives perfectly. The underbody and frame look like a showroom truck. I really don't think there are many nicer '65-'66 C10's out there. Industry experts have estimated the cost to build at 40-45K, and the value at 50-55k and rising. The first time I saw this truck is when the previous owner/builder of it pulled it from the shop garage into a light mist of rain outside, and quipped that it had probably never seen a drop of the stuff until just then. The steady drizzle provided a little cover to obscure the drool shaking from the corners of my mouth like a mastiff hound as my eyes worked overtime to take in all of the amazing custom touches, incredible paint, and super clean overall styling of this machine. After getting it home, performing the safety check, servicing it, and making sure it was operating at 100%, I have spent about 250 miles of absolute smile-inducing seat time cruising all around Southwest Florida. I am confident that the next lucky owner is going to be able to take this truck wherever they want, whenever they want, and they should start creating a trophy case to hold all the awards it will no-doubt win them. The builder and his sons, had built and restored many 68-72 trucks, as well as over 25 other classic cars and trucks in their shop, and this one was selected to be a smooth street custom with all the modern touches like air, automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, and modern ride and handling. The truck was stripped to the frame, and the body was treated to new metal wherever it needed it prior to being shaved, de-badged, smoothed, and treated to multiple coats of stunning DuPont Chromabase Sunset Orange and White Diamond. Tons of hand sanding and it was ready for multiple layers of clear to give it that “foot-deep” shine worthy of a show truck! The truck was completed in the fall of 2010, and appeared in Custom Classic Trucks in March of 2011 with just 2,419 miles since being built. It has been driven and shown throughout Northern Florida, but has yet to be shown at any major events in the United States. That thrill goes to the new owners! With just over 3,500 miles on it now, the truck still shows like a new machine, as you can tell from the 100 EXTRA-LARGE photos I took of it the day this listing started. The finish is still stunning, glossy, slick, and wet-looking, and I have NOT even detailed the truck!!!! You are seeing it as I got it, with only a wash, vacuum, and quick wipe-down with Turtle Wax QUICKSHINE! Just imagine how incredible it will look when you take the time to clean all the little nooks and crannies on a Sunday afternoon, and give it a good waxing! There are just a handful or so truly minor and insignificant marks to be found on the outside of the truck, and these are simply the normal little stone chips, marks, and blemishes you get when you actually “DRIVE” your vehicle to a show or cruise night instead of trailering it. No big scuffs, scrapes, dents, dings, divots, or damage on it, and I bet that 99% of the eBay sellers would say it was “PERFECT” and just move on. Look closely at the large, detailed photos, and you will see that nothing sticks out, and most of the little marks on it you wouldn’t find unless I showed them to you. The panels are super-straight, and thanks to the extensive body-off-frame build, the whole thing is 100% real steel, with no beer-can, chicken wire, or cardboard panels! You can run a 4”x4” felt-covered magnet over it from front to rear and it will stick like glue! The paint is really stunning in person, and today when I shot the photos was a bit overcast, so look at all the photos I provided, PLUS the magazine shots I attached, as you will get a good idea of how stunning this thing is in person. All of the glass is in exceptional condition, with no cracks, chips, or damage, and it is tinted a smoky black for a killer look. Window seals, weather stripping, felts, regulators, and seals were all new when the truck was restored and built, and thanks to indoor storage and loving care, they all still show like new. Chrome bumpers are like new, as are the polished grill inserts, headlight pans, and marker light surrounds. Lighting was all new throughout the truck, and still functions like it was just installed. The tailgate was smoothed and the handle removed, but a cool custom solution was found to securing it by affixing a painted-to-match seat belt clasp mechanism to the inner panel where it secure things while staying out of sight. The fuel door and tank were relocated from the cab and the entire new tank was cleaned and installed under the bed with a flip-up fuel door lid. This also gives a bit more room in the cab too. The entire bed was cleaned, and then treated to a color matched RHINO-LINER spray-on protectant to keep it usable and clean at the same time. The truck rolls on 18” BOSS chrome wheels that are wrapped in COOPER ZEON XST radial tires sized 255/55R18 all the way around. The tires are clean, damage free, and have just 3,500 odd miles on them so they still show at least 85% of the useable tread life remaining. The wheels are clean and solid, but are showing light pitting where the rim lip and center spokes meet. Perfectly fine to keep on the truck for weekend show and driving, but if you plan on detailing it out for GoodGuys, or NSRA type judging you’ll want to get another set. Overall, the outside of this truck rates a strong and solid 9.0 out of 10, and a solid detail when you get it home will raise that number a click or two! Open the doors on this killer truck via the cleverly hidden switches, and you are met by an ultra-clean and tastefully done interior that starts with a custom fabricated dash cap, smoothed dash with custom gauge panel, and a healthy spray of the same DuPont Sunset Orange that graces the exterior of the truck. OLD AIR supplied the custom air conditioning system, and it blows through custom fabricated side and under-dash vents with mini control pod nestled underneath the center of the dash itself. The builder was tired of seeing the same replacement gauge pods in every single C10 on the road, so he took it upon himself to create something new by repurposing another glove box lid, shaping it to the gauge size, welding it in place, and then smoothing it to perfection before installing a full set of Dolphin cream-face gauges. Billet controls for the headlamps and wipers lie to the left of the gauges, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player rests above the functional ashtray and sends sweet tunes down to the custom-covered and kick-panel integrated ALPINE 6.25” coaxial speakers. A functional, and properly lined glove box finishes off the dash area, and lets us move down to the floor of the truck. After the cab was painted, it was treated to layers of sound and heat insulating material before the clean, custom laser cut, automotive-grade, thick weave carpeting was installed. It still shows like new to this day, and has no rips, tears, damage, or seam pulls. It is held down on the sides by chrome door plates that show wonderfully. The seat base, seat, and door panels are all treated to a custom covering of luxurious gray tweed, and it all looks fantastic with no noticeable damage, rips, tears, or issues of any kind. A removable center console was fabricated to set on the seat, but is easily removed to provide three abreast seating at a moment’s notice. Seat belts keep everyone secure and safe on those Power Tour road trips. Door panels have custom inserts cut into them that look great, as well as comfortable arm rest perches for driver and passenger. To keep the panels clean, the door handles were deleted like on the outside of the truck, and a modern bear claw style release was adapted to turn the former door locks into door openers from the inside, while hidden release pop them open from the outside. Everything opens and closes with a solid, sure feel, and safety measures will be explained to the new owner so he knows how to get inside in the event of a battery failure. EZ wire supplied the wiring harness for the truck, and it is one of cleanest and well-thought out wiring jobs I have seen on ANY vehicle. Great care was taken to loom everything, and cleanly run the wiring so it is hidden as much as possible throughout the truck. Overall, the interior of the truck is a 9.5 out of 10, and it is about as close to perfect in appearance and condition as I have seen. The chassis on this machine is where a lot of the fabricating, custom building, and vast experience of the builder shines through. Taking a late-model Chevy Caprice, the builder custom built and swapped in the front section with power steering rack, the 10 BOLT GM rear end with trailing arms, and then added a completely refurbished 350ci V8 and 700R4 Automatic transmission from a 1987 C10 pickup. Great care was taken to ensure the driveline was properly aligned, driveshaft balance, and fit and finish safe and top-quality throughout. After 3,500 miles on the road, it still feels tight and new when you are behind the wheel, and I have spent MANY miles in this machine cruising at freeway speeds and just simply cruising the beach. It feels like a late model truck, and has a tight and solid feel that is very confidence inspiring. The chassis was cleaned and painted after it was built, and before the cab was reinstalled, but it has been driven, so it shows road debris, dirt, dust, and marks and scuffs from being used. If you take the time to pressure wash, clean, and do a little chassis black paint touch up, you could throw a set of mirrors under this thing at a show too! I have driven this thing. It is simply one of the nicest handling, well-balanced, smoothest running, and easy to drive classics I have ever had seat time in. I guess it shows the difference in quality you get when you are the owner AND the builder, as opposed to just someone writing a check to have it built for you. It rides great, takes bumps in stride, stops on a dime while counting out nine cents change, and doesn’t do ANYTHING funny or odd along the way. No weird sounds, modulation, vibration, grinding, pulling, wander, or brake fade. It just simply does what you want it to, without complaint. I am pretty sure you could fly in and drive this thing home anywhere in the lower 48, and I bet it would do just fine. It is a great driver, and has been maintained wonderfully since new. There are NO known mechanical, operational, functional, electrical, or operational issues that I am aware of other than what has been disclosed in the listing above.
