For Sale: Pro Street 1965 Chevrolet C-10, Stepside, Custom, 454, 4-Link, 9", Tubbed, Nice! This is a beautiful truck that was built in the early 2000's with what I would call a cross between show & driver quality. It is extremely nice and beautiful, although has been driven 7800 mi since completion as intended. It has the classic Pro-Street stance, with a more modern color and build details. I will start with a list of the major specifications:1965 C-10 Custom Cab, Short Bed Step Side454ci Big Block ChevyTurbo 400 3spd AutoNicely Backhalved w/ Fully Adjustable 4-Link / Coilovers / Narrowed 9" Ford15x7, 15x16 Weld Prostar Wheels (31x18.0x15 M/T Sportsman S/R Rear Tires)Power 4 Wheel Disc BrakesPower SteeringLarge Fabricated Aluminum RadiatorBeautiful Custom PaintCustom "Tonneau Cover" / Polished Aluminum BowtieThe list could go on and on! OK, I will spell out the story on the truck and give as many details as possible: 1st, I did not build this particular truck, although I do have an abundance of experience building hot-rods of various types over the years. My grandfather in-law bought the truck 1 year ago, already completed, as a fun cruiser. He has since decided that he's simply not "into" the hot-rod truck thing, and is interested in something along the lines of an old Model-T or similar. He is not particularly hot-rod savvy, and as such is not very comfortable providing accurate details or representation of the truck. Therefore, he has asked me to help him sell. I feel very comfortable saying that I am plenty qualified to give accurate information about the quality and condition of the truck; anything you would like to ask about prior to coming to inspect / purchase the truck in-person, I will give an accurate account of what you can expect! Back story that I have on the truck; Was found in the early 2000's sitting in a barn in Michigan for years. Yes, it was literally a barn find! This thing is RUST FREE! Literally, I can't believe it's an original Michigan truck! I can't find evidence of any replacement panels or floors- they're all original and rust free! The builder of the truck completed the restoration/build to it's current state shortly after purchase. In 2005 the truck was sold to it's next caretaker of 9 years. This individual did very little to the truck aside from store/ maintain/drive/enjoy it, and upgrade the radiator. In 2014, he decided he was ready for something new and my grandfather in law bought it. That brings us to current day. I have 75+ large, detailed, pictures of the truck from every angle- inside & out, above & underneath. Feel free to ask for the complete picture documentation. As was described previously- the truck was built very nicely and is what I would call a cross between "show"& 'driver" quality. The paint is close to show-quality, not quite like "glass" over 100% of the sheetmetal, but extremely nice nonetheless! The drivetrain is essentially a "stock" freshened up mid-70's 454 BBC / 400 Turbo (block ID# confirms this), with the simple addition of an Edelbrock Air Gap dual plane intake manifold, a Holley 850cfm double pump carburetor, and an Accel HEI distributor. It runs great for what it is, just what you would expect- not a monster, but makes good power and sounds great. It has a simple but nicely done 2.5" dual exhaust w/ Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. The narrowed 9" Ford rear axle has 3.00:1 gears and (oddly) a spool. The frame was backhalved with a very nice fully adjustable 4-link system w/ Strange Engineering coilovers. The welding / setup of the backhalf clearly being done by an experienced individual (see pictures)- they did a very nice job! The fit of the 15x7 15x16 Weld Prostar wheels is just right, everything fits fantastic! Underneath, the truck is nice and completely rust-free, although it DOES look like it has been driven- this is not a truck you would put mirrors underneath, it's a clean driver. It does seep some oil / atf as you would expect with something that was built 12 or 13 years ago and has only seen 7800mi since- it's not significant and would not have to be addressed immediately by any means- I just simply want to be upfront about every aspect. Overall condition reflects exactly what you would expect given the age and mileage as well- everything on the truck is just ever so slightly used. Everything is still extremely nice and (as is obvious from pictures) in excellent condition! The paint is extremely nice, although does have a few touch-ups (documented in pictures), and unfortunately I do not know the color or supplier. All the chrome or polished aluminum is still in beautiful shape- essentially as-new. The interior is pretty basic- just a simple black tweed style bench seat, black carpet, a simple floor shifter, and body color sheetmetal/doors. It has full AutoMeter white face gauges, and a VDO tach on the A-Pillar. A couple flaws that I want to be sure are clearly described- see full picture documentation to verify each of these: There are some touch-up paint spots on the truck that are minor. The left front fender has 2 spots that have small (you don't notice them unless you know they're there) issues- 1 at the top front left corner by the hood gap, and the other at the bottom rear corner by the door gap. The heater box is currently removed (do not know why), but the complete assembly is included. The left door window has a crack, but is still intact. If there is anything I have not thoroughly described, please feel free to contact me via ebay and I'll be happy to give an accurate & honest account of the truck! Online messages or phone is fine, whatever you prefer! Clean Title in current owners name, no monkey business! The truck is located in the Bay City / Midland Michigan area, and is available to be shown by appointment. You will be pleasantly surprised with the truck, it is a beautiful and fun machine! Thanks for looking!
