Most of these trucks ended up working for a living, but judging from the looks of this one, any trace of a possible tradesman's past has been erased. It's a very clean and solid truck, with a lot of nice upgrades that make it ideal for local shows and cruise nights...and maybe even a few off-road adventures. The paint is there to grab attention, so it's nice to see it so well-applied over some pretty straight bodywork. Hugger Orange was the way Chevy muscle cars intimidated others off the streets, and this one is worthy of that heritage, but more on that in a moment. All of the original stainless trim is in place and looks great, from the wide grille, all the way to the back bumper. The only addition seems to be the bright steps on both sides to help you and your passengers cope with the monster truck ride height. This is a long bed pickup, so it still has the ability to go to work. That's why there's flat black paint in the bed, and a grippy rubber coating to the top of the back bumper. These Chevy trucks had an interesting interior, where the controls surrounded the driver like a sports car. This customized 4x4 continues with this tradition by keeping the full gauge package, and adding some nice upgrades. The condition of the bench seat suggests a quality restoration, and just behind it are dual sealed subwoofers connected to a modern AM/FM/CD stereo. While this is to make the driving experience even that more fun in this aggressive-looking truck, the most intimating sound will always be coming out of your dual exhaust. One look at the engine bay, and you'll know why this pickup is worth every penny, and more. It's a 383 cubic-inch stroker motor with BluePrint aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake, MSD ignition, and headers. So while this Chevy has an amazing bark, it has the bite to back it up too. Even more important is the torque produced by this performance V8. Add in the lift kit, upgraded shocks, and deep-ridged Pro Comp Xtreme tires on Ion Alloy wheels, and you have the perfect recipe to never need pavement again if you choose. But on a more practical side, this one is not hard to take on the highways either, with features such as the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes. Look over all the pictures, including the undercarriage. A 4x4 truck isn't this clean and pristine unless there was some serious money invested in its restoration. So, you might want to hurry before someone else discovers the low price. This 4x4 has the great no-nonsense looks, and carries some serious power invested in a performance small-block, to make a vintage truck that can turn heads even while hauling the toys. This Silverado looks downright spectacular with the respray of its original Frost White. Maybe it's the way the paintwork rivals the chrome bumpers and bedrails for shine, but it looks aggressive and clean all at once. It's pretty obvious that this one has been only personal transportation since it was new, especially as a regular cab/short bed model, and most of its hauling was probably limited to personal gear and helping friends move. As a result, its bodywork is clean, smooth, and straight, with a great shine that stands out nearly thirty years after production. Just in case you want to do any serious hauling with this one it has been given a spray-in bedliner. While the truck gives off the impression of an exceptionally clean truck like it would have left the dealer lot, the hint that there has been some tasteful custom work comes from the bright Ultra six-spoke alloy wheels that are built tough and accept the front locking hubs. The interior is just like the exterior, in that it looks like a premium stock truck at first glance, but a closer inspection reveals more nice upgrades. This Silverado was loaded with options when it left the dealer back in 1985, so it makes the perfect foundation for the ultimate hauler. Power windows, power locks, tilt steering column, cruise control, and a sliding rear window all make it a pleasure to drive. The original air conditioning unit has even been converted to R134a for easy servicing. These pickups were focused on the driver, and when you get behind the wheel, you'll notice a few interesting features. The full gauge package has been upgraded to outstanding Dakota Digital units, for better readouts, and they also glow a cool red that matches the interior. There's also a full stereo system that includes a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player with iPod hookup, and kicking subwoofer, so you play your modern tunes. The best upgrade on this Silverado lives under the hood. It's a bored small-block V8 that now displaces 388 cubic-inches. But it's more than just big size that delivers the big power. This motor also has also been specially built with upgraded with features like a Scat crankshaft, Keith Black pistons, Comp camshaft, Profiler aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake, and Holley 670 CFM four-barrel carburetor. The result is a seriously wicked sound coming from the MagnaFlow dual exhaust. This is backed by a very desireable 700R4 four-speed automatic overdrive transmission, and then the power gets sent to the road via a Richmond rear end with a 4.10 ratio. This pickup is truly up for anything. Features like the power steering and front disc brakes are perfect for a daily driver, but when it comes time to have a little fun, the 4x4 drivetrain, and Firestone Destination A/T tires will allow this Silverado to go just about anywhere it wants. This is the truck that works hard and plays hard. It gets a lot more attention than a new 4x4, is loaded with options, and costs thousands less.
