Despite having been bought and sold many times over the years, The Triumph Motor Company managed to produce some very eye catching and prized automobiles. In 1960 the ownership of Triumph was under Sir John Black which he named “Standard Triumph” On December 1st 1960, ownership was then traded to Leyland Motors Ltd. Model year designations for Triumphs were based on when they were sold from the dealer, not when built, so it is safe this TR3A was built under Standard Triumph. Officially there has never been a recognized model TR3A, only a model TR3; however after a facelift and other improvements these TR3’s are universally known as TR3A’s. The name change was to acknowledge the new front grille, which housed a larger radiator, exterior door handles, a lockable boot, a full tool kit, new floor-pans, windshield held with actual bolts not Dzus, and minor styling changes. Originally 58,000 production units sold, mostly sold to the American market, an estimated 9,500 are still in existence today. Coming out of a gentlemen’s car collection in Missouri, this Triumph has been well taken care of and is in great overall condition. This is a very solid car; the floor-pans, as well as, the frame rails are in great shape. It has been repainted using the correct Sunset Red and shows very well with only minor imperfections and road wear. All of the exterior chrome is in great condition and shows no sign of corrosion. The interior is in good condition boasting optional black leather bucket seats, they present well with only minimal signs of wear and the foam still retains is form. Also optioned with the Smiths heater the dash board is original and in good condition.. All of the Smiths gauges function as they should. The car comes complete with top straps and a brand new black soft top, but no side curtains. Both doors function as they should and have new weather stripping; along with the windscreen. The inline 4 cylinder true Triumph engine runs very well, making approximately 100hp. Although 100hp does not seem a lot it today’s term, it is more than enough to push the TR3A lightweight quickly down the road. Still retaining both SU carburetors, the entire fuel system has recently been flushed and the carburetors have been rebuilt. Both front disc brakes and rear drums have been rebuilt along with the clutch slave cylinder, allowing this car to stop extremely well. The 3 speed manual with 4th being an overdrive can match modern traffic without worry. With the estimated existing numbers of TR3A’s declining so rapidly, this is truly a special car. Perfect for Sunday cruises or draw attention at any car show. What are you waiting for? This Triumph is in extremely good condition! GET OUT AND DRIVE! Odometer currently shows 30,223 miles and is believed to be original, however due to age of vehicle, we can not guarantee an actual mileage claim. WE BUY CARS! 1961 Triumph TR3A Roadster British Racing Green over Biscuit! Recently restored! 4-speed overdrive! Upgraded TR3B 2138cc motor! I am very pleased to offer this late model 1961 Triumph TR3A for sale! The car is finished in a classic shade of British Racing Green over a Biscuit interior. The car is powered by a 2138cc 4 from the later TR3Bs, a healthy upgrade from the original 1,991cc engine, and a fully synchronized 4-speed manual overdrive transmission! These are features found in the later “TR3B” and may suggest that this car was something of a predecessor to that car? The car is further fitted with several nice touches, including side curtain wind wings, electric radiator cooling fan, rack-and-pinion steering and 5.5” TR6 wheels. When the Triumph TR3 first appeared, in 1955, Triumph intended not simply to update the previous TR2 but also bring the Triumph driving experience and styling into the second half of the ‘50s! Being conservative by nature, Triumph debuted the car with the TR2’s 95 horsepower 1991cc 4 cylinder motor and drive train, which was actually more than enough for a car that weighed just over 2,000 pounds. However, Triumph then launched the “TR3A” in 1957. The “TR3A” further improving the car and incorporating wider front grille and becoming the first production car to feature front disc brakes! There were just 58,236 TR3As produced, of which less than 9,500 are documented to survive today! The ultimate iteration came in 1962 with the introduction of the TR3B, which later came standard with the TR4’s 2138cc engine making 105 horsepower and 127 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a full synchromesh 4-speed manual gearbox. This is a local New Mexico TR3A that has been totally frame off reconditioned over the last two years. The car was completely dissembled and sand blasted, then any rust was removed and replaced with new/repaired sheet metal. The body is very straight with excellent fit. Complete paint in a base coat/clear coat British Racing Green was done, all rubber replaced, new wiring harness, all trim, upholstery, and carpeting was redone and a new windshield installed. Engine and gearbox plus entire drivetrain rebuilt with new aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan, brakes, exhaust, suspension etc. Restoration is not Pebble Beach quality but very good for local shows and ready to drive anywhere. Interior has all restored gauges, lights and signals functioning as they should. Soft top frame has been restored with a tonneau cover and new side curtains. New wiring harness, trim redone with new windshield. Engine and overdrive gearbox plus entire drivetrain rebuilt with new carburetors, brakes, exhaust, suspension etc. Complete paint in British Racing Green, and all new leather and trim pieces in the cabin. The car runs and drives exceptionally well thanks to a recently rebuilt motor and transmission. The car makes for a very drivable and presentable example of one of Britain’s most popular roadsters and should make the next owner extraordinarily proud both at local shows and on short road trips! We would welcome any additional questions on this TR3A. Thanks for looking! I've had lots of questions, I’ll try to answer all that I can and stick them here at the bottom for everyone. I’ve had the car since the early ‘80s. March of 1983 I think. The odometer reads 33629 and I believe that to be the correct mileage, it has not been reset and, as I say, I've owned the car since early '83. I did a top level restoration right after I originally bought the car and drove it daily until the ignition failed in ’92. It then sat for several years until I decided to do a frame off restoration in 2008 or 2009. I pulled it down and worked on the restoration, on and off, till last spring when I more or less finished. I’ve been driving it occasionally since and, at the same time, ironing out some of the residual issues from the restoration. I have several other cars I’m working on and have garage space for them all, or did have till I bought a partially restored ’56 ford pickup and now I’m stuck for a place to put it. As it happens, I like restoring these guys more than I like owning them and since this one’s now done it’s the one my wife and I think should go. That is unless one of you wants a ’59 XK150 in pieces or a ’67 retro-model jaguar MK2? Anyway, here’s a partial list of the things I’ve done to the car: Newly rebuilt 2138 cc TR4 engineNew SU carburetorsRebuilt 4 speed with overdriveNew Performance Free-Flow ExhaustAdapted 5.5” TR6 wheelsTR4 rack and pinion steeringNewly rebuilt front suspension with new bushings and bearings Front anti-sway barAluminum radiator Electric radiator fan with thermostatic switchAll new or rebuilt gaugesNew switches throughoutNew wiring harnessNew base coat/clear coat paint, British Racing GreenNew upholstery, BiscuitNew carpet in the cab and bootNewly restored convertible top frameNewly Rebuilt side curtainsNew side curtain wingsNew windshieldLots of other new or restored parts like bumpers , grill, heater core, horns, even the shift knob and leather covered steering wheel. The car comes with a convertible top and a tonneau cover. As one of you wrote, it’s a very nice car. Please feel free to bid with confidence. If you have any questions or would like additional photos please feel free to email me.

The Triumph TR3 is a sports car produced between 1955 and 1962 by Standard-Triumph in England. The facelifted variant, popularly but unofficially known as the TR3A, entered production in 1957 and the final version, unofficially the TR3B, was produced in 1962.In 1957 the TR3 was updated with various changes including a full width radiator grille and this facelifted model was commonly referred to as the Triumph "TR3A". However the cars were not badged as such and the "TR3A" name was not used officially, as is evident from contemporary sales brochures. The "TR3A" was built between 1957 and 1962. This 1958 Triumph TR3A is in very good condition and has been very well maintained. The 1991cc engine runs very well and transfers all of its power through a 4-speed overdrive manual transmission. The paint is in exceptional condition for a vehicle of this age and the red interior with bucket seats is in equally impressive condition. The chrome wire wheels are wrapped in a 165-80-15 tires and look basically brand new. This TR3A includes a soft top, side curtains and tonneau cover. This is a very comfortable and fun car to drive. This 1958 Triumph TR3A is perfect for a weekend cruise or will make a great conversation peace at any car show. The Triumph TR3 was the first production car to include standard disc brakes, which were continued on the "TR3A" facelift. The car was known for its superior braking ability, making it an autocross favorite. The "TR3A" was a minor update from the TR3. The updates included the new wide front grill, exterior door handles, lockable boot handle and came with a full tool kit as standard (this was an option on the TR3). The total production run of the "TR3A" was 58,236. This makes it the third best-selling TR after the TR6 and TR7. The TR3A was so successful that the original panel molds eventually wore out and had to be replaced. In 1959 a slightly modified version came out that had raised stampings under the bonnet and boot hinges and under the door handles, as well as a redesigned rear floor section. In addition, the windscreen was attached with bolts rather than the Dzus connectors used on the early "A" models. It is estimated that only 9,500 of the original 58,000 built survive in the world today. Please call Brighton Motorsports @ 480-483-4682 or email [email protected] with any questions.Nationwide financing and delivery can be arranged

Hi I am selling my 1960 Triumph TR3 which I bought with the sole idea of completing a full restoration. Unfortunately, shortly after purchasing the car, I was diagnosed with cancer so any restoration work was put on hold while I underwent treatment. As I improved in health I thought it was time to resurrect my project but, unfortunately, my cancer problems returned, and after undergoing a long and very tiring additional round of treatments it’s time to admit that I no longer have the energy required to undertake this project. About the Car. I bought the car from a lady who inherited it from the estate of a loved relative. She told me how she remembered riding in the car as a child, and of all the good times she had. The owner, a doctor from Nevada, owned the car for many years and I have documentation of work he had done on the car during this time. They are included in the sale. Since then all the upholstery, carpets and door cards have been renewed and are shown in the pictures of the car. Also included are a small amount of spare parts I had started to gather, ready for the start of the restoration, along with books bought detailing a full restoration of the car. The car has a very sound chassis, bottom seals under doors are sound, as are the openings around both doors, a known weak point on these cars. The engine starts and runs with a good oil pressure, fifty pounds pressure at idle, shown in pictures. All Lighting is in working order. Now for the things that I know need looking at. The needle has come off the rev counter and this needs to be disassembled and reattached. I was going to replace the front and rear wings/fenders, as the front one has a split in it and the rear shows signs of filler. These unbolt, so replacement should not be that difficult or you can repair the ones on the car if you want to. Tires are new, although several years old, but show no signs of cracking, so it’s up to the new owner to decide what you want to do. This is a nice car for its age and an excellent base for a full restoration or just to do the basics and drive as is. The car is being sold as is with no warranty implied or given. Arrangements for transport are the responsibility of the new owner although I will assist in any way I can. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE

Kurt Tanner (909) 241-1051 1307 E St. Gertrude Place • Building A Santa Ana California 92705 ? ? ? ? 1961 TRIUMPH TR3A SPORTS ROADSTER. RARE FACTORY BLACK WITH RED TRIM PIPED WHITE, WHITE WEATHER EQUIPMENT. 60-SPOKE WIRE WHEELS, 4-SPEED, LUGGAGE RACK. CORRECTLY SEQUENCED ENGINE NUMBER. FAIRLY COMPLETE CAR FOR FULL RESTORATION. Vehicle Information VIN: TS68564L Stock: 0124 Mileage: 41,662 Color: Black Trans: Manual Engine: Inline 4 OHV MPG: Drivetrain: RWD Description Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this fairly complete and original Triumph TR3A just out of long term storage. This car was purchased out of an estate from Lake Charles, LA. There is evidence of a Texas inspection sticker circa 1968 on the windshield. The car appears very complete with little missing and would be a good candidate for a full restoration. This model is the later "raised hinges" version with stiffer body pressings and other sheet metal improvements. It still retains it's believed matching numbers drivetrain, although currently the engine and steering is stuck, but the car is rolling fine. The body on the car would need at least the floors replaced, as well as some work on the trunk floor, which is now thin with some rust-through in several spots. The main inner and outer rockers, as well as the dogleg areas appear pretty solid. Panel fit is good and consistent with factory gapping. The chassis frame, although a bit scaly with some surface rust, appears good and solid with no holes apparent. The car includes the pictured loose parts with the important steering wheel trafficator assembly. The car still retains it's original VIN plate, although the two brass body tags are not present. An interesting note is the Lake Charles Sports Car Club badge. Also included is some old weather equipment such as the softtop and tonneau cover. Up for sale is my TR3B that I've owned since 1982. Purchased with 52K on the odometer. I had it professionally painted red over an older red that was laid over the original iris blue. It was professionally undercoated back in the day but had some lower panel issues with rust. I had the visible rust repaired prior to the paint, but did not have the lower minor rust repaired. The previous owner did a very amateur ''repair'' on the front floor panels, especially the front drivers floor area....looks bad but works fine , and once covered, .....not a priority issue to me. Neither was the engine compartment.....when the bonnet is shut. When purchased, I had all the steering and suspension parts in the front end replaced, the complete clutch and all brake parts renewed. Also the carpeting in the cockpit and the trunk. The odometer now reads 75068. The engine and transmission work well with no issues other than the ''spotting'' when parked. Still peppy, no smoke or odd sounds. There seems to be a just noticeable slow release developing in the front left caliper. Somewhat recent repairs include the water pump, total carb renewal, Pertronix ignition, 4 tires, master and clutch cylinders. seat covering is vinyl and good condition. The side curtains are in good condition as is the top frame. Has the small frame cover and if I can find it, a full tonneau too. A new-in-box [never fitted] convertible top, NOS muffler, complete brake line kit and new carpeting with padding and many spare new parts from Moss are included. I've never had it on high speed highways, only back roads....and it was always garaged. Any questions, ring me at 631 730 6538 but not after 10pm Easrern Standard time, or use the Ebay question box. Best you come see and drive it, as it's an ol' friend and I may be partial, and am not an expert at all. to me, It is a decent 3 footer with a great shine and quite presentable cockpit, minor chips, and a small dent on the bonnet, see pic. Remember it is an end of the line ''B'' and can be driven as it is, and should only climb up in value. Selling because I'm getting old and the next garage is not accomodating. The Triumph will be sold with a clear transferrable registration in my name. NY did not go to titles until 1974. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of sale. The balance of $12,500 will be paid in cash in person, or by wire transfer only within one week of sale. NO Paypal for balance unless you are willing to pay 3% more on top of the $12,500.....and absolutely NO checks of any kind. Stateside and international buyer, I will work with the shipper you chose and will keep the vehicle in a locked garage for up to 3 weeks until pickup can be arranged. It's a decent Triumph TR3B at a currently decent price. Cheers

1961 TR3A in Signal Red. 78K miles. Restored years ago before this owner. It is complete and authentic. Car has been stored in carport and covered. The cars shows well but the lacquer paint does have some minor cracking/crazing in a few places. Engine starts right-up and idles nicely and pulls strong with excellent oil pressure and temperate. The gearbox shifts nicely, the clutch works well and the brakes are firm. Interior is off-white with newer black carpet. The dash is very nice and functional except of a missing hi/low switch lever. Steel wheels with original Triumph hubcaps and radial tires in excellent condition. Has period AMCO windwings and luggage rack as well as correct bumpers, grille and original British Triplex windshield glass. Original steering wheel is in very nice condition. Also included are tonneau cover and storage cover. Chassis is solid and not rusted although there is very minor surface corrosion as one would expect. Have top frame but not the convertible top. Aging father is forcing this sale since he can no longer drive her. This is FOURTH TR3A dating back to 1959 so you know she’s been cared for and driven well. I wish I could drive it as well as he did! This car always turns heads and bring positive comments from onlookers. Have clear California title. Have $20K invested, asking $18K.
