This Esprit left the Hethel Norfolk factory in August of 1984 and was invoiced to Ron Greenspan VW Subaru on Van Ness in San Francisco where it sold new to its first owner on February 22, 1986. The car has lived in the bay area and Southern CA since brand new and had been serviced by Barber Bros Lotus in Concord CA trough the 80’s and early 90’s and has service records and history dating back to brand new. The British Racing Green Metallic paint shows beautifully with just a few stone chips on the front nose and a few stone chips on the lower rockers behind the wheels and three small hairline cracks in the fiberglass on the driver door by the Styled by Giugiaro badge. The interior is in phenomenal condition for its age, the two front seats have recently been re-done in beautiful leather which is a near perfect match to the original Connolly leather. The dash is in excellent condition and does not have any issues with shrinkage or tearing. The black leather on the dash binnacle is also in excellent condition free from any shrinkage or tearing. The engine has been rebuilt by JD Enterprises of Fresno CA and has receipts for all of the work. It idles beautifully and runs through the RPM range freely and smoothly. The engine does not smoke under start up or acceleration and runs incredibly strong. The Turbo kicks in as it should and boosts properly with excellent power. The gearbox is nice and smooth and does not grind in any of the gears and the clutch is strong with no signs of any slipping. The steering has an excellent tight feel and free from any vibrations or sloppiness. The brakes have an excellent positive feel and free from any grinding or fading. All of the electronics in the car are operating as they should, including all of the interior and exterior lights, the dash binnacle lights and the center console lights. The original radio is still intact in the car and operating as it should. The headlight buckets open in sync and close with ease. This Esprit Turbo benefits from incredible service history and maintenance from new and comes complete with its original tool roll, owners handbook and red Lotus book cover, spare, jack, original keys and service history from new. The car has never been involved in any kind of accident and there are no signs of any previous damage. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire an incredibly rare British sports car that is rarely seen for sale. It has the desirable Carbon Sport Bucket seats, and while it has the carbon fiber dash piece in place of the cupholders, the owner was smart and did not delete the A/C and radio when ordering the car. The Carfax is clean and the car is all original paint and free of any prior damage repair. Additionally, the entire car was wrapped so that the paint was protected from stone chips. At 5600 miles, the Porsche dealer replaced the valves, top end actuators and lifters due to a misshift. The work was done to the highest standard by a top notch tech at the dealer who maintains multiple GT3s and RSs for street and track clientele. The car never had any track incidents and is all original sheetmetal and paint. We purchased the car from the original owner, and had a checkover and annual service done at the Porsche dealer, along with putting brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on the 19inch HRE wheels. We then sold the car to the second owner who enjoyed it for a couple of years before trading it back in to us. The car includes two keys and service history. With a 1600 cc Lotus Twin Cam engine making 115 hp situated in a 1517 lb. car, you can see why these cars are so much fun to drive and have a near cult following. The 4 speed gearbox shifts very nicely and the four wheel disc brakes are working great. The paint is in very nice condition – better than most Elans you’ll see. There are a couple of stars in the hood that are not real apparent and common to fiberglass cars of this era. The interior is very nice. It has nice black wall Michelins on the correct center lock wheels. We’ve had a few Elans in over the years and this one feels very solid and drives particularly well. Fully documented car in excellent condition. The 1989 Turbo is the same as the S package offered in 1988, but in the USA all the optional S items became standard for 1989. The ROW (rest of world) cars were still designated as an S in 1989.We bought this car from the second owner last year, who had owned it since 2000. The original owner resided in Virginia, and both of them serviced the car regularly and kept meticulous records. We have every receipt since new, including the original window sticker.We sold the car to a client in Massachusetts, who put about 500 miles on it, and decided he wanted a 911 Turbo, so we happily bought this car back.The car is all up to date on service, having received a new clutch and rear main seal in 2012, and a full service in 2011 (55,425 miles), including cam and balance belts, tensioners, a/d compressor, accessory belts, and fluids. We just had the belts re-tensioned at the same shop who did the major service, and who has been servicing the car since 2000.The car also has new Bridgestone Potenza RE11 tires all around, in the proper sizes.This is a clean, excellent condition example of an increasingly sought-after model. The front valence, hood, and fenders at one point were resprayed to address stone chips, but all factory VIN tags are in place on every panel - the car has never had any bodywork and all panels are original. The interior is fundamentally perfect with no bolster wear, no cracks in the dash, and minimal overall wear. The car is fundamentally stock with a few very minor variations, including a front Racing Dynamics strut tower brace, a later-year Porsche CDR-3 head unit, and an aftermarket replacement trunk cargo cover. The engine, suspension, exhaust, and brakes are all original and unmodified. The car is mechanically sound with no deferred maintenance and no immediate needs. All accessories, power options, and A/C function correctly. BagTurbo charged1987 Porsche 944 Turbo - We just bought this car from the long-term second owner, who bought the car from Motorcars Imports out of Bedford, Ohio in 1991 (note the Motorcars decal still in place on the rear valence). He was an ASE Master mechanic and did all maintenance himself. As a result, we do not have a stack of records that is commensurate with cars serviced at a dealer, but the condition of the car speaks for itself. In 2012 he did a full service including water pump and timing belt, and he documented that service with extensive photographs, as well as parts receipts. He even kept all the old parts in a box. This guy truly loved the car, and it's obvious. The car is all original paint as verified with a paintmeter, the ONLY exception being the front bumper and panel between the headlights, which is notorious on the 944 for attracting stone chips. It has never seen salty roads, winter, and probably never seen rain during his ownership, as he was fanatical. This car is very, very original, and is complete with two keys with factory leather pouches, the original option code sticker in the trunk, cargo covers, spare tire, jack, air compressor, complete tool kit and tool roll, and factory manuals with the maintenance book stamped properly. There are only a few minor modifications to the car, all done by the previous owner and noted in photos. He installed Boston Acoustic speakers in the front doors, as well as speakers in the rear trunk, which are easily removable and only impact the trunk mat. Original Blaupunkt Monterey head unit was retained. He also hardwired a radar system that is of course now outdated, but the level of craftsmanship is incredible. He installed mini toggle switches in the driver's air vent, perfectly hidden, and small warning lights in the gauge cluster. The windshield wipers are kind of cool in a ridiculous overkill sort of way - I've never seen double blade wipers before. Not even sure they've been used more than once or twice. The car also has Porsche badges installed on the front fender with adhesive - no holes drilled, and easy to remove should the new owner desire. Condition is excellent inside and out and underneath, as you can see in the photos. There are no cracks in the leather seats or in the dash. There is zero delamination on the rear window. None. The original calipers still have a good finish in the paint and lettering. All glass is original. The windshield could stand to be replaced if the new owner likes - there was a couple small cracks on the passenger side that the owner drilled and filled himself - the fix is proper but it of course doesn't look exceptionally pretty.The paint is very clean with only a few minor flaws that are pretty hard to find. The original stone guards are still on the car and they are cracking but those are a quick fix, readily available from Pelican Parts. The original underhood insulation is also present, and is of course coming apart, but most cars we see have long since had it completely scraped off, because they all do that. I always wanted the grabber blue with white stripes. When I found the one D&M had for sale I knew I wanted the car because it was 2010 grabber blue with red stripe ( never seen the combo before ) I always said I would never buy a car sight unseen but everything just felt right. During that time I have had over 12 Corvettes and during the last 3 years I have been collecting High end classic cars. After working on a friends Corvette I got the bug to get another Corvette. Their site has all High Def photos that are taken by a professional photographer and I found a pristine 1993 40th Anniversary Corvette with only 1,300 documented miles.
