Up for sale is a 2008 Chevy Express 2500 extended wheelbase van with a 6.6 liter Duramax diesel. The van is a 1-owner former police van and has 230k miles. Just passed California Smog inspection few days ago. Build date for this van is 2008-08-06, and for any other vehicle that would usually mean 2009 model year. The exterior has several scratches, dent on the drivers door and holes from the strobe lights (all holes are sealed off with silicone, no leaks). Mechanically everything is in great shape. Obviously police vehicles have the best maintenance programs in the world. There are no warning lights on the dash, and the van runs good with no known issues. Four matching LT tires are two years old and they all have plenty of tread left. Both heaters are hot and both A/C are ice cold. No fluid leaks. Parking brake is tight. Transmission engages and shifts up and down very smoothly. A new 10,000 lb rating Class 5 receiver hitch and trailer wiring have been installed a week and 2,000 miles ago. The van has never towed before that, although it is equipped with factory auxiliary transmission cooler. Options include: front and rear heater and A/C, power heated mirrors, power windows and locks, tilt steering wheel, tachometer, 145 amp alternator, aux trans cooler and engine oil cooler and full width vinyl insulated floor cover. The spare wheel is missing. The lower part of the passenger mirror has one vertical crack, still totally usable. The vehicle is located in sunny San Diego, California. Don't waste your money on Autocheck, a VIN scan shows 4 owner and 1 accident which is very common here in "dodge the deer" country. If you're seeking a manual trans Duramax, they are so rare you will have to consider a minor accident as "no biggie" or keep hunting for a truck. Ignore eBay's ridiculous shipping calculator, it quotes $598 to Albuquerque NM (216 miles) where I ship trucks on a regular basis for $150. The Story: This big lifted 4WD duramax truck is a recent trade in, is rust free (see underside photos) and has a very rare 6 spd manual transmission. I have only seen a few trucks like this in the last 10 years, if you have been seeking a truck like this, then this is your chance to own one. Condition, Options and Drivetrain: The body, paint and interior are excellent, above average, under the hood is a very strong running 6.6 Duramax V8 engine with an AFE cold air intake, 6 spd manual transmission, the tires are excellent (80%) on American Racing wheels, Rancho lift kit, adjustable Rancho shocks, nerf bars, bed liner and more. The non smoking interior is immaculate, equipped with keyless entry, power windows/locks, tint, cruise control, AC/heat, tow package with electric trailer brakes, AM/FM/CD, and everything works as it should. We have changed the oil, filters, fuel filter, checked fluids, brakes etc. I have put over 100 miles on this truck, it starts, runs, drives and stops excellent and will not disappoint you. Though in excellent overall condition, this is a used 14 year old truck and as you would expect there are imperfections, scratches, dings, wear, etc. I am being very "nit-picky" on some of this stuff because I value my reputation/feedback. There is a small tear in the drivers seat bottom (see photos) There is a very small hole in the headliner and small piece out of the door cover near the handle (see photos) There is some scratches (common GM issue) on the windows (see photos) the sun reflection makes it look worse than it is The rear hinge is broken on the console lid, I am looking for another (see photos)There are a few little normal scuffs and stuff but nothing worth photographing. Introduction Few vehicles embody the term "beast of burden" as well as the 2014 GMC Savana Cargo van. This traditional full-size cargo van from GMC provides nearly 300 cubic feet of space for tools or products. It also offers a variety of powerful engine choices and boasts substantial towing capacity. So yes, it has the basic requirements nailed down. But compared with more modern rivals, there's no escaping the fact that the Savana was last redesigned nearly two decades ago and lags behind in key areas. Among traditional full-size vans, the Savana (and its twin, the Chevy Express) fares well. It's similar in design to the 2014 Ford E-Series (in either case, we're talking about a large, snub-nosed box on wheels) but the GM vans offer more engine choices, including a compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered V8 as well as a torque-rich diesel-powered V8. More compelling than either domestic-brand van, though, are newer competitors such as the 2014 Nissan NV, which offers a high-roof option that increases maximum cargo capacity beyond that of the Savana and allows you to walk around inside the van without stooping. The more expensive 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has a much more fuel-efficient (but not nearly as potent) diesel engine and, like the Nissan, boasts a high-roof option as well as superior driving characteristics. There's also the new 2014 Ram ProMaster, which is based on a full-size Fiat van from Europe. If you don't need such cavernous cargo capacity, you might consider a smaller, light-duty van such as the 2014 Ford Transit Connect or Nissan NV200. Although they can't carry nearly as much weight as the big vans, their considerably smaller sizes provide better fuel mileage and make them more maneuverable on crowded streets as well as easier to park. Of course, by virtue of its size and strong available diesel engine, the 2014 GMC Savana Cargo van still does the job as a traditional work van. But unless purchase price or the availability of a diesel V8 is paramount, we suggest also considering newer competitors that offer more versatility and refinement. No Video Content Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options The 2014 GMC Savana Cargo is a full-size van that's offered in two wheelbases and three load ratings. The standard-wheelbase model (135 inches) is available in a base 1500 version as well as heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 variants. The extended-wheelbase version (155 inches) is only offered on 2500 and 3500 models. Standard equipment on the GMC Savana Cargo includes 16-inch steel wheels, 60/40-split swing-out right-side doors, air-conditioning, full power accessories, vinyl upholstery and a trip computer. Major options include 17-inch steel wheels, heated power mirrors, 60/40-split swing-out driver-side doors, a sliding passenger-side door, a variety of rear door and window configurations, a towing package, rear parking sensors, keyless entry, cloth upholstery, a six-way power driver seat, front passenger seat delete, cruise control, a tilt-only steering wheel, remote ignition, Bluetooth phone connectivity, OnStar emergency communications, a simple two-speaker AM/FM sound system and an upgraded system with a CD player, satellite radio and a USB/iPod interface. A navigation system and a rearview camera are also available. Powertrains and Performance The 2014 GMC Savana Cargo van has six available engines. The base rear-wheel-drive 1500 models come with a 4.3-liter V6, which produces 195 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on rear-wheel-drive 1500 models and comes with a four-speed automatic transmission. The EPA's fuel economy estimates are 16 mpg combined (14 city/19 highway). A 5.3-liter V8 good for 310 hp and 334 lb-ft of torque is standard on all-wheel-drive 1500 models and is available as an option on rear-wheel-drive 1500s. A four-speed automatic is standard. Fuel economy with this engine and rear-wheel drive is 14 mpg combined (13 city/17 highway). The rear-drive-only 2500 and 3500 come standard with a 4.8-liter V8 that produces 285 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, and a six-speed automatic transmission. There are several optional engines from here, and all use a six-speed automatic. A gasoline-fueled 6.0-liter V8 puts out 342 hp and 373 lb-ft of torque. Another version of the 6.0-liter V8 runs on compressed natural gas (CNG) and produces 282 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Finally, a turbocharged 6.6-liter diesel V8 is rated at 260 hp and a robust 525 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy estimates are not available for these heavy-duty vans, because the EPA doesn't rate vehicles over 6,000 pounds. When properly equipped, the Savana has a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. Safety All 2014 GMC Savana Cargo vans have antilock brakes and stability control as standard equipment. Side curtain airbags, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors and OnStar emergency communications are available as options. Interior Design and Special Features Utility is what's important on the inside of a GMC Savana Cargo. The dashboard and other plastic surfaces are hard and not of especially high quality, but controls are simple and easy to use. However, legroom up front is limited by the engine cowling sticking out from the center of the dash. Conveniences like power mirrors and a tilt steering wheel are optional, in keeping with the GMC's basic work van mission. Primed for cargo, the Savana provides 239 cubic feet of space on the standard-wheelbase model (just 2 cubic feet more than the Ford E-Series van). The long-wheelbase Savana Cargo provides 284 cubes. In addition, Us/Ouralso means any third party alleged to be Our agent or to be acting on Our behalf. You/Your means the customer signing this agreement andacquiring a vehicle as part of this transaction. Transaction means your purchase and financing of the vehicle. Claim means any claim, dispute orcontroversy between you and us arising from or related to: 1) the Transaction; 2) any negotiations and/or representations relating in any way tothe Transaction, including, but not limited to any issues relating to the advertising of the vehicle; 3) the vehicle acquired as part of the Transaction;4) Our efforts to collect any amounts due under the contract or as part of the Transaction; 5) Our recovery or attempted recovery of the vehicle;and 6) the validity, enforceability or scope of this Order and this arbitration provision. For purposes of this arbitration provision Claim has thebroadest possible meaning. It includes claims of every kind and nature regardless of who initiates it. In addition to all other rights and remedies available to Seller at law or in equity, Seller has the following rights and remedies under this Order: (a) Reclamation.- Seller may enter into Buyer's property and reclaim the Vehicle with or without notification to Buyer. Seller may also make a written demand on Seller to return the Vehicle and Buyer agrees to do so within 24 hours of such demand. (b) Disposition of Trade - Buyer agrees that immediately upon Buyer's execution of this Order, Seller may dispose of Buyer's Trade in any commercially reasonable manner, including the sale of the Trade to a third party, retail or wholesale. In the event that this Order is not completed for any reason or in the event that it is rescinded for any reason, Seller agrees that Buyer may retain the proceeds of the sale of the Trade to offset its damages, if any. If Seller does not have any damages relating to rescission or failure of this Order to be completed, Seller may retain any costs and reconditioning expenses relating to the sale plus a 15% commission on the sale from the sale proceeds. The remaining amount shall be delivered to Buyer in full satisfaction of any claims relating to the Trade.(c) In the event that Buyer pursues any claim for rescission of this transaction, Seller shall have the right to set off against Buyer's damages or to assert as an independent claim, a claim for the reasonable value of Buyer's use of the vehicle, including depreciation and mileage of the Vehicle. If any term of this Order is held to be unconscionable or unenforceable, for any reason, by any court of competent jurisdiction, this Order shall be construed as if such clause were never a part of this Order and the balance of the terms of this Order shall be binding on the parties. The waiver or invalidity of any provision of this Order shall not effect the binding nature of the remaining provisions. No breach of this Order by Buyer shall be deemed waived unless such waiver is agreed to by Seller in writing. The parties agree that any modification of this Order must be made in writing and signed by the parties in order to be valid. Buyer agrees that Buyer's deposit on the Vehicle is non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Buyer and Seller.In addition to any other breaches of this Order, the following expressly constitute acts of default under this Order: (a) The refusal of any financial institution to finance any portion of the purchase price; (b) The failure of Buyer to make any payment required under any accompanying finance agreement; (c) The failure of Buyer to provide Seller with a lien free title to any Trade or the failure of Buyer to pay Seller any amount in excess of the payoff on the Trade after demand from Seller; (d) Any misstatement or misrepresentation by Buyer, whether intentional or not, on any document submitted to Seller in connection with this transaction. (e) The refusal of any financial institution to honor any check, draft or other instrument presented by Seller in connection with the acquisition of the Vehicle. This is a great vehicle for any type of business. Delivery, Landscaping, Electrician, Plumber... plenty of room to store equipment and/or materials. Model year 2010 with a 4.8l V8 providing ample horsepower and the new 6-speed automatic trani for better gas mileage and smoother shifting. The truck is in excellent shape, very clean inside and out and ready to go to work. It is a former Penske vehicle and has always been maintained at the scheduled mileage. Maintenance records are available. At 175735 miles the next tune up is due at 180k so almost 5,000 more miles to go. I'm selling the truck because I have a seasonal business and don't want to let the truck sit for 6 month. Any reasonable offer will be considered.
