1923 Ford Model A Woody Station Wagon Runs and drives perfectly straight, true and no play or vibration in steering wheel. I posted 2 videos at youtube named "1929 Woody 10 Minute Tour" and "1929 Woody 45 Minute Tour" thinking that is the best way for you to see the car. In the 45 minute tour I drove the car in all the conditions: hills, highway, and traffic. The first photo is by a professional at a (family) wedding I did this spring; the rest of the photos are by me. This car is (was) my fathers and I understand the car somewhat but not to the extent of a Model A person. I will get you all that you need to know, it might take me a while if I do not know. The hood has chipping and the horn works when the car is in motion other than that this car runs perfect, lights, signals, brakes and really to me runs as good as a modern car. This car won car shows and (second place) in some major ones so it was put together correctly, also have survey stating car was done correctly.

For sale is a 1931 Woody Wagon. This car has the original wood and looks to have been restored in 1980 as you can see on the dash. When it was restored it was a body off restoration and every bit has been gone through and sorted. The car was stored indoors in a climate controlled environment and the body shows it, it is in great condition. The engine starts and runs very well, the brakes stop very well and straight. The steering is tight and the axle is very quiet. I would not hesitate to drive this car to New York from California, except for the current weather conditions.... The fenders do show some signs of aging (1980) but generally the car looks great!

1953 Mercury Monterey Woody: Since the introduction of Mercury in 1939, Ford had been able to bridge the gap between its namesake and the upscale Lincoln brand quite well. The 1940s proved to be the last full decade of  Woodys, with Ford and Mercury both retiring their planked automobiles in 1951. The inspiration carried on and many companies still offered wood applique for the steel bodies. Mercury even used real wood to outline the applique on their  two-tone wagons through 1953, which proved to be the final year that any Ford product carried any real wood on their exterior! We are very excited to offer this 1953 Mercury Monterey Woody Wagon! Finished in its original 01- India Black exterior with 377 – Turquoise/Black two-tone interior, this Merc is one of five left in the International Mercury Owners  Association registry. This car maintains its original 255ci Flathead V8 and 3-speed manual transmission on the column, and overdrive! Standard features on 1953 Monterey wagons included leatherette faced seats, faux leather headliner,  split folding 60/40 rear seat, wool carpets, chrome interior moldings, two-tone dashboard, black steering wheel, fender skirts, full wheel covers and winged hood ornament. In addition, this car has been treated to a 12V conversion  resulting in brighter headlights and greater starting ability. This car is further equipped with a slick visor, heater, clock, later AM/FM/cassette radio, window visors, stainless door sill plates, day/night mirror, discreet auxiliary  under dash Sunpro water temperature gauge, chrome exhaust tip and full wheel covers wrapped in 7.10 x 15 Firestone Deluxe Champion gum-dipped tires! The data tag indicates that this car was built in the LA plant on May 7th, 1953 and is believed to have been a southern California car for the majority of its life. The car was restored some time ago to a very high standard and is  starting to show a little age but remains very presentable! The paint and chrome both shine very well and the interior has only minor blemishes. The folding rear seats work just as expected, as does the split tailgate. The under hood  presentation is fantastic, with correct 1953 Mercury “EAC” heads and FoMoCo radiator hoses. The motor and transmission do their jobs just as expected and the overdrive is a great help at modern speeds, allowing this car to feasibly  cruise to regional shows and gatherings. The brakes have been fully rebuilt with fresh cylinders, honed drums, new shoes, and lines.  The odometer shows 80,733 miles, which we believe to be original to the chassis but cannot be  certain. The 40,000,000th car built by Ford was a Siren Red 1953 Monterey Convertible and this Mercury represents the last year of real wood and the flathead along with the first year of the Monterey wagon. It is certainly a  collector’s piece for Mercury enthusiasts! As you will see from the photos below, this is an exceptional classic Monterey Woody that can be purchased for only $54,988!  With the ""Buy it Now"" option you can own this beautiful Mercury Monterey now and receive FREE SHIPPING * to your driveway. Not only is shipping free but we will handle all of the shipping arrangements and provide  complete cargo insurance while in transit. Why wait a week just to be out bid at the last second by another bidder? We sell 90% of our cars with the low "Buy it Now" option. This classic Mercury is not a vehicle you are  going to find at your local dealership. Reserve is set just below the "Buy it Now" price. Why wait? If you are local or have your own transportation arrangements, we may  accept a slightly lower offer. * USA - excludes; Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, & Maine. 1936 Ford Woody SedanVehicle History Here is a letter written by a previous owner describing the history of the Woody, as you can see the woody has seen war action, traveled aboard, was in a movie and has had articles written about it. Dear Paul, The history of the car as far as I know it. It was made in Canada in 1935, the door glass indicates November 1935, sold in the UK 1936 the car was requisitioned in 1940 by the government and was used by the WRVS. I found markings on the bonnet. It was returned to its original owner, who sold the car to a Ford Dealership at Bishop Auckland. It was then purchased by Mr. Graham in 1946 who owned a gravel company from Gainford , the car was used by Mrs Graham until 1952 when it was used as a pool car by office staff until bought by my brother for 13 pounds in 1954 . it was sold the next day for 25 pounds a vast profit in those days. The buyer was a Mr Loxley also of Gainford, who used the car until 1959, when it was stored until I purchased the Ford in 1979. I have owned the car since. The mileage showed 37,000 when I bought the car it is now 51,000 miles, it is possibly correct but I could not guarantee it as so. It has no mechanical faults of any description it is as good underneath as on top. The Big photo was when it came into 2nd in class at the Northern Ford gathering sponsored by 'Fast Ford Magazine' it was beaten by a 1953 Ford 8HD with 3,000miles from new, so I didn't really mind. The car has been on TV in Heartbeat and the subject of a magazine article in 'American Classics'.I was invited to take the car to 'Esenn Motor Show' in Germany by the 'Pre 50 American Auto Club' but personal reasons said no. The car is in very good condition and is currently taxed and tested. The rear fenders are NOS and the front fenders, hood and grill are in nice condition as well. Includes is all f the stainless for the fenders and grill. The rear stainless has been straightened and polished. The front fender and grill stainless is NOS. I have the hood stainless as well. I am missing one piece of stainless for the running board. The 5.0 motor and AOD transmission are out of a Mustang and was running at the time.(The Mustang was in an accident) The front and rear end are from a Jaguar, so it has 4 wheel brakes and 4 wheel independent suspension. I know a few woody owners how have this setup and have been told that for a large car it really handles nicely. The wood body is very solid and complete. There are a few small parts that would need to be made but nothing big. The roof has been rebuilt and is in varnish. The rear quarters are new and finished.
